Constantin Brancusi 彫刻의 造形性

Abstract

C. Brancusi는 그의 特徵的인 造形性이 담긴 彫刻作品으로 現代 특히 그의 初期 作品인 頭部를 主題로 한 藝術의 場을 열었다. 彫刻作品으로 나타난 造形性은 C. Brancusi의 全般的인 作品에서도 나타나 그의 作品 理解에 도움이 되며 後期에 形成된 다른 現代 藝術分野를 理解하는 데도 도움이 되기에 本 硏究의 필요가 있다. 本 硏究의 目的은 C. Brancusi의 頭部를 主題로 한 作品들의 造形的인 特性을 考察해 보는데 있다. 本 硏究의 內容은 C. Brancusi의 作品에 대한 理論的인 背景과 그의 頭部를 主題로 한 作品들의 造形性을 分析하고 考察하여 表現의 特性을 硏究하였다. 本 硏究의 方法은 文獻調査와 作品의 造形性의 考察이 그 基調를 이루며 文獻硏究를 통해 理論的인 틀을 定立했으며 작품표집은 C. Brancusi의 初期作品인 頭部를 主題로 한 作品 중 33점을 目的標出하였다. 本 硏究의 結果는 다음과 같다. C. Brancusi의 初期作品인 頭部를 主題로 한 作品의 造形性은 象徵性, 力勳性, 原始性인 세 要素를 지닌 것으로 나타났다. 1. 頭部를 主題로 한 作品의 象徵性은 單純化된 寫實的 表現으로 說明될 수 있다. 2. 頭部를 主題로 한 作品의 力動性은 生動感을 表現시키는 表現技法과 여기에 부합된 texture와 음양의 pattern을 가진 재료를 選擇 이용함으로써 연출된 특성으로 설명될 수 있다. 3. 頭部를 主題로 한 作品의 原始性은 精神的으로 순수한 관조상태에서 구상되고 제작된 작품들에서 볼 수 있는 순수한 theme의 표현과 작품이 작품배경 또는 환경에 定着되어 작품과 그 배경이 대화의 경지를 이루는 것으로 설명될 수 있다.;This study analizes the Characteristics of form of the Sculptural works done by C. Brancusi who opened the door for the era of modern sculpture. The analysis includes theoretical study through the literature review and the analysis of the Characteristics of C. Brancusi’s works, mainly focused on hard part of an object. The study reveals that the three distinctive characteristical elements are expressed in his work: 1) Symbolic abstraction; 2) active motion; and 3) environmental unity. First, symbolic abstraction includes the simplified reality and the symbolic meaning of the themes he wanted to express. Second, active motion includes the reinforced expression of the liveliness from the form of an object and the use of the texture and the patterns of materials. Third, environmental unity includes the purity of the form and the integrated relationship between the sculpture and the rest of the space. Investigation of the three elements of the Characteristics of the form described above is critical to understanding C. Brancusi’s works focused on the head part as well as his other works.
