圓의 象徵的 意味에 관한 도자의 立體表現

Abstract

Man has the fundamental expression will to express his own feelings. This intention can be delivered by various expression styles. Because of its superiority in the visional characteristic, a circle which exists in our living conditions has intimately linked with man in the conscious and unconscious world long before. It has taken role of the symbolistic motive to reflect man's emotion. Like that the visional perception has developed closely with man's existence, the symbolistic meaning of a circle hag conn-ected with our life intimately. Since the visional characteristic of a circle has been linked firmly with the symbolistic meaning being immanent in a circle, the symbolistic meaning could be formed through the transformed forms; ball, globe, and spiral. The methods to embody the work are compression moulding, casting, wheel moulding, and coiling by a piaster mould to recompose the image cubically. As the result of working with those methods and theoretical contents, the fact that the symbolistic meaning existing in a circle takes role of the symbolic message of man's emotion. In the process of forming these used by clay, various methods could be experienced. Since the theme was the meaning existing in man's cognitive world, my own infernal world could be formed. Therefore various experiences to express appropriately by selecting the proper method were maden.;人間은 태어날 때부터 마음 속에 지닌 느낌을 나타내려는 基本的인 表現意志를 가지고 있으며, 이러한 느낌은 다양한 表現方法에 의해 전달되어진다. 古代로부터 우리의 生活周邊에 存在하고 있는 諸 圓은 그 形態가 지닌 視覺的 특성의 우수함으로 인해 의식과 무의식 속에서 우리와 친밀한 관계를 갖기 시작했으며, 언제부턴가 그 속에 우리의 마음을 투영시켜 象徵의 중요한 모티브(motive)로서 역할을 당당하고 있었다. 圖에 內在된 象徵의 意味는 視知覺이 人間의 生存과 깊은 관계를 가지고 발달되어 온 것처럼, 圖에 內在된 意味도 우리의 생활과 밀접한 관계를 가지고 그 意味가 확대되고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 시점에서, 본 연구는 圓이 지닌 視覺的 특성과 圖의 개념이 문헌에 나타난 象徵의 의미와 깊은 연관을 가지고 있음을 파악할 수 있었다. 따라서 원에 內在된 象徵의 意味를 변형된 圓의 形能인 環, 救, 나선형을 통해 조형화 하였다. 그 방법으로는 석고(plaster-mould)에 의한 가압성형, 주입성형 및 물레성형에 의한 방법에 타렴성형 (coiling)을 병행하여 입체로 그 이미지 (image)를 재구성하였다. 그리고 이와같은 방법에 의해 흙을 매체로 하여 이를 형성화하는 과정에서 관념의 세계에 存在하는 意味를 주제로 表現하였기에 연구자의 內面世界를 조형화 할 수 있었으며, 形態에 맞는 방법론을 적절하게 선택하여 흙으로 表現할 수 있는 여러가지 경험을 직접 체험할 수 있었다.
