김주혜의 Oh! my nation, the Republic of Korea for Orchestra 분석연구

Abstract

본 논문은 한국 현대 음악 연구의 일환으로 김주혜의 Oh! my nation, the Republec of Korea for Orchestra 의 음악적 특징을 분석할 것을 목적으로 한다. 우리나라의 역사는 단군시대부터 현재에 이르기까지 반만년의 긴 역사를 모두 포함하나 본인의 작품과 논문은 모든 역사를 다루지 않고, 근대사회로 접어들기 이전 시대인 600여년의 긴 역사를 지닌 조선시대부터 근대사회로 이르는 대한민국 설립까지의 시대사 중에서도 특별히 크게 평화와 전쟁과 정전, 그리고 다시 발발한 전쟁과 정전과 평화에 대한 5가지의 흐름을 비중 있게 다루어 형상화 시켰으며 이에 따른 작품에 대한 분석이다. 음악사상 최초의 완전한 관현악은 Clarinet과 Trombone, Tuba, Viola가 빠진 대체로 2관 편성에 가까운 구성을 하고 있었다. 이 편성은 Haydn과 Mozart의 전기, 후기 작품을 통해 알 수 있듯이 점차 관악기군이 보강된 2관 편성의 형태로 발전되다가 Beethoven, Rossini, Weber 등을 거쳐 Berlioz에 이르러 비상한 발전을 보이게 되었다. 악기 제작법과 연주법이 발달됨에 따라 관현악의 표현력이 역시 중대되어 Wagner에 이르러서는 3관 편성과 4관 편성으로까지 확대되었으며 이에 이어 Stravinsky는 The Rite of Spring에서 5관 편성이라는 대 편성을 채택하기에 이르렀다. 점차 더 시간이 흘러감에 따라 관현악 편성의 발달은 음색과 음향에 더 비중이 커져만 갔으나, 비대한 대 편성의 여러가지 제약에 의해 점차 2관 편성이나 3관 편성으로 작곡을 하기에 이르렀다. 본 논문은 다변하는 현대음악의 일종으로 서양음악의 리듬과 우리나라의 장단, 서양음악의 음계와 우리나라의 음계 등을 가지고 표현된 2관 편성 오케스트라를 위한 단악장 작품의 분석 연구이다. 특히 본론에서는 4가지로 나누어 김주혜의 Oh! my nation, the Republic of Korea for Orchestra를 구조와 형식, 선율, 리듬, 그리고 화성적인 측면에서 서술하였다. 이 작품은 동기가 제시되어 확대, 발전해 나가는 과정에서 선율, 리듬, 화성 등을 통해 목관악기, 금관악기, 타악기, 그리고 현악기와 같은 여러 다양한 악기들로 구성되어 있는 오케스트라에서의 표현을 시도한 현대적인 곡으로 시대의 흐름에 따른 대칭구조를 지닌 총 5개의 section으로 구성되어 있으며 서로 통일성과 다양성을 가지고 긴밀한 연관성을 맺으며 작곡된 각 부분은 상징적이고 묘사적인 표현에 중점을 두었다.;This thesis is an analysis of Oh! my nation, the Republic of Korea for Orchestra which was composed by Juhye Kim. This is a composition for a full orchestra in one movement lasting approximately nine minutes. This study of the composition included an era, as long as about 600 years, from Cho-sun dynasty to modern society, especially the time of establishment of the Republic of Korea. In which five musical currents about the war, the peace, and the armistice were dealt and taken into configuration significantly in each section. This study is an report analyzing the first movement for orchestra which has an musical representation through the rhythm and the scale of both Western and Easternl music. In main subject, I divided the composition into four parts (structure, form, rhythm, and harmony) and described it respectively. My piece is an modern tune trying to express the music in the orchestra composing of various instruments, such as brass, woodwind, percussion, and string in the course of expansion and development itself. This composition is organized into five sections and each section has the symmetric structure of presenting currents. An special attention was paid on the descriptive expression and the symbolization in each section with the unity, the diversity, and the close relation.
