漢代織物의 地域的 特徵

Abstract

6,000여 년 전의 신석기시대부터 織物을 제작·사용하였던 中國古代人은 구 그 후 春秋戰國時代에 이르기까지 점차적으로 독자적인 기술의 발전을 이룩하였지만, 광대한 영토를 통일하여 중앙집권체제를 형성할 수 있었던 秦·漢期에 이르게 되면 中國의 織物은 새로운 단계에 접어들게 된다. 즉 이전까지 축적되었던 織物 제작의 기술이 정치적 안정기를 맞아 上質의 織物을 多量으로 생산하였을 뿐 아니라, 강력한 중앙집권의 배경하에 주변지역과 활발한 교류 관계를 맺을 수 있었던 것이다. 실제로 多量의 織物이 漢帝國內의 영토뿐 아니라, 匈奴및 西域지역에서도 출토되고 있음은 이를 잘 설명해주고 있는 것이라 하겠다. 出土織物을 지역별로 나누어 그 特性을 살펴보면 漢帝國內의 織物은 아우선 그 재료 上 絹과 麻가 主를 이루고, 毛, 綿등의 직물은 아직까지는 나타나고 있지 않다. 기법은 크게 平絹, 抄, 綺羅, 錦, 刺繡등으로 大別할 수 있지만, 그 각각에서도 다양한 종류의 기법이 보이며 문양의 경우는 주로 花卉紋을 비롯하여 幾何紋등이 표현되고 있다. 이러한 織物은 畵像石등에 나타나는 織物에 의해 짜여졌을 것이며, □□, □□□등을 중심으로 國營 혹은 民營의 생산공장에서 多量으로 생산되어 일부는 國內市場에서 수요되고, 일부는 輸出이나 賜與등의 方法을 통해 國外로 流出되었을 것이다. 匈奴 및 西域지역 出土의 織物은 絹의 경우 거의 漢帝國出土의 絹織物과 유사하다고 할 수 있지만 漢字 □文의 존재, 문양의 특이점 등 미세한 차이를 검출할 수 있다. 한편 漢帝國內에서 발견되지 않는 毛織物및 絹織物이 이들 지역에서 상당량이 출토되었고, 더우기 이들 織物에는 漢帝國內 출토 織物에서 찾아볼 수 없는 기법, 문양이 보인다. 漢代織物의 交流관계는 이상과 같은 織物의 地域別 相異性과 아울러 漢과 주변지역간의 정치·외교적관계를 함께 고려하여야 하는 바, 당시 漢과 匈奴의 적대적 관계와 漢에 의한 西域 지역의 지배력 강화는 織物에 나타난 차이점을 효과 있게 織物의 交流관계를 유추시킬 수 있게 한다. 이렇게 하여 얻어진 결론은 絹 織物의 경우는 漢帝國內나에서 國外수출을 염두에 두고 제작되어 輸出이나 賜與등의 方法으로 주변지역에 전파되었던 것이며, 毛織物등은 絹織物과 달리 각 지방에서 그들 나름의 고유한 歷史的 전통을 반영하면서 제작 사용되었다는 것이다.;The early Chinese who had weaved textiles already in the Neo-lithic period about 6,000 years ago, developed the skills spontaneously to the Ch'un,-ch'iu(春秋), Chan-kuo(戰國) period. But becoming Ch'in-Han(秦漢) period when the split terr-itoies were united and central government was set up, Chinese textiles faced new era. In other words, piled up skills during about 4,000 years facing politically peaceful period, could product high-qualitive textiles, and under the powerful central government, Chinese could make interchange of textiles with neibouring region. In fact, there are a lot of textiles excavated in Hsiung-no(匈奴) Hsi-yu(西域) as well as inner Han empire. We can divide excavated textiles to three parts, inner Han empire, Hsiung-no, Hsi-yue. Firstly about the textiles of inner Han empire. Speaking with the material, almost of the testiles were made of silk or yam, while those of wool or cotton were not excavated yet. Stills can be roughly categorized to P'ing-chuan(平絹), Sha(사紗), Ch'i(綺), La(羅), Chin(錦), embroidery(刺繡), even though more detailed skills can be searched. for the design, flower or geometrical patterns are chiefly described. These textiles should have been weaved abunduntly in government-managed or private-managed works, chiefly focusing on Chi(齊) and Ch'en-liu(陳留) district, especially by a sort of loom that was often inscribed in the stone or block of the Han period. And some of them were flown out to the neibouring region while lots of them were used within the empire. Secondly about the textiles of Hsiung-no, Hsi-yue. Silks are very similar to those of inner Han empire, but as to the inscription and design we can find out a little difference. In case of wool, lots of wool were excavated in these area, w while no wool can be seen in inner Han empire. Moreover, there are new skills and designs which cannot be discovered in the textiles of inner Han empire. The interchange of the textiles should be researched on the basis of the political relationshpip between Han and its neibour plus the regional differences of the textiles. The fact of hostility between Han and Hsiung-no and Han's conquest of Hsiung-no and Han's conquest of Hsi-yue makes possible to link regional textile differences with the interchange of the textiles. Anyway, the textile interchange of the Han period is as empire and they were flown out to its neibour by way of export or presentation. 2. The extent of wool interchange was very small compared with silks. Most of wool excavated in Hsiung-no and Hsi-yue had been weaved in these region, not within the Han empire, and reflects historical experiences of their own region.
