생명의 Image를 표현한 유기적인 형태

Abstract

In representing the world of material, art has gradually transfigured the shapes of Nature during the past decades, and the extreme tends to be accessing up to the Abstract or the Nonobjective art. As a response to it, this study intends to express, in nonplastic abstract carving, forms of liveliness which bears an fresh image of life and also represents characteristics of biological life-core. That is, the purpose of the study lies in expressing and analyzing forms of liveliness. Investigated for this were the standing of f 'life' and 'biological life' in art, theories of pure forms from Platon to Mondrian, and modern abstract carving with images of life. And, in expressing in the works, image of life was represented so as to be figurated as dynamic feelings in concavo-convex interaction on basis of the concept that sees the characteristic of life as a kind of movement in interaction, and, then it was analyzed according to employed materials and techniques. analysis of the seven works chiefly concerned with their visual characteristics of subjective expression produced following results : First, it may be called a form of liveliness with the soul as art, when it is made in form upon the concept that the representative characteristic of vital process is to be viewed as the motion in interaction of biological factors, when such feelings of creation, change, expansion and movement is to be worthy of being called the images of vitality are felt, and also when the forms include feeling, emotion, and consciousness. Second, there occurs some attraction or counterattraction in the concavo-convex interactions represented by the mass moving toward certain specific trend to harmony as a whole. Third, the dynamic structure of curve appeared through a curvilinear or spiral motion seems appropriate to the very expression of the movements of life, organic states of rhythmic movement. Like this, the form of liveliness may be said an organic form which takes some dynamic structrue of spiral and curvilinear motion, and, in this practical study, it was represented as the forms with such emotion and image of life as creation, variation, expansion and rhythmic movement.;물질의 세계를 나타내는 데 있어 미술은 과거 수십년 동안 자연의 모습들을 점차로 환원하였고 그 극단은 추상이나 비대상 미술에 다다르는 경향에 이른다. 이에 本 연구는 추상조각에 있어서 생물학적 생명의 특성이 나타나며 생명의 Image를 지닌 형태를 표현하고자 한다. 本 연구의 목적은 생명의 Image를 표현한 유기적인 형태를 표현하고 분석하는 데 있다. 연구의 내용은 예술에서의 생명과 생물학적 생명에 대해 알아 보았으며 순수형태의 이론과 생명의 Image를 지닌 현대추상조각에 대해 살펴보았다. 생명의 Image와 생물학적 생명의 특성을 근거로 나선운동 곡선운동의 형태로 표현하고 조형적으로 분석하였다. 연구의 방법으로는 문헌조사와 작품제작 및 분석을 병행하였다. 분석대상으로 제시된 작품은 7점이고 표현주관에 의하여 나타난 시각적 특성을 중심으로 분석하였다. 연구의 결과를 종합하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 생명의 Image를 표현한 유기적인 형태는 생명력을 나타내어 스스로의 힘과 감정을 발산한다. 둘째, 곡선운동과 나선운동을 통해 나타나는 곡선의 動的인 구조는 율동감을 지닌 유기적인 형태표현에 적합하다. 세째 mass로 표현된 凹凸의 상호작용에서 이들은 서로 밀고 당기며 어떤 특정한 방향으로 움직이며 균형을 이룬다. 이와 같이 나선운동 곡선운동의 動的인 구조로 생물학적 생명의 특성을 표현하고, 생성·변화·확산 율동감 등의 생명의 Image와 함께 스스로의 생명력을 지닌 유기적인 형태로 표현되었다.
