원에 의한 자연의 상징적 표현에 관한 연구

Abstract

자연은 예나 지금이나 예술가에게 대표적인 표현대상이 되고 있는 바 표현은 예술가의 내면 세계의 심상을 표출하는 형식이므로 작가가 추구하는 예술세계는 자연에 대한 깊은 애정에서 출발하여 그 대상이 갖는 은밀한 숨소리를 찾아내는 것이며 인간은 가려져 보이지 않던 내부의 근원적 흐름과 접하게 되는 것이다. 현대 예술은 보다 더 강한 자기자신의 표현을 위해 새로운 소재의 개발과 기법에의 탐구가 이루어지고 있으며 예술가 자신의 내면 세계에 존재하고 있는 무한한 내적 감정을 자신의 주장과 필연성에 의해 다양한 표현으로 심미적 가치를 추구하려는 추상미술로 변모하고 있다. 이러한 현상은 염색공예에서도 예외는 아니어서 기능적인 작품은 물론 새롭고 다양한 표현 양식으로 작가의 주관과 美의식에 따라 조형예술로서의 가치 추구를 위한 작품으로도 제작되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구자는 염색을 통하여 자연의 이미지를 형상화함으로써 새로운 조형적 세계를 추구하는 데 연구의 목적을 두었다. 이를 위한 이론적 배경으로 자연과 예술, 표현과 상징을 문헌을 통해 연구하였고 이를 바탕으로 작품 8점을 제작, 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 자연은 무한한 가능성의 세계로 예술의 대상이 되었으며 예술가는 자연을 그대로 재현하지 않고 작가의 내적 심상을 어떤 형식으로 표현하느냐에 따라 달라진다. 둘째, 표현 대상인 자연에서 추출된 圓은 연구자의 심상 표현의 적절한 요소였다고 생각된다. 셋째, 제작방법에서의 화학약품과 염료의 사용은 독특한 효과를 얻을 수 있었다. 이와 같이 염색은 재료와 기법의 개발로 다양한 표현이 가능하여졌고 작가의 창조적 작업은 연구 노력에 따라 무한히 발전될 수 있다고 보아 본 연구자는 계속적인 연구와 실험을 통해 창조적이고 다양한 조형세계를 추구하고자 한다.;Nature has been a represnetative object of expression for an artist. Expression is the form that demonstrates an image of the artist's inner world. The artistic world an artist puruses starts from the deep affection for nature and find out the secret sound of its breathing, through which man contacts with the inner substantial stream that lies hidden from one's view. Contemporary art is a series of attempts to explore new materials an d techniques, and transfigures itself as an abstract art that looks for aesthetic value by expressing infinite inner feelings of the artist's inner world according to his argument and necessity. Such phenomena can be applied to dyeing technology as well. It produces not only functional works of art but works that pursues value as an fomative arts through various modes of expression by the subjectivity and aesthetic consciousness of the artist. The purpose of this theis is on the pursuit of new formative works by figurizing the natural images through deying. Theoretical background for this thesis is documental studies of nature and art, and expression and symbol, on the basis of which I produced and analized 8 works of art. These are conclusions of my thesis : First, nature is the world of infinite possibilities which is the object of art and an artist does not imitates nature as it is but expresses the inner images of him by diverse forms. Second, the circle abstracted from nature is appropriate element to express my images. Third, in the work-making process, the use of chemicals and dyes is a, very effective method that gives way to uniqueness. Consequently, I think that deying is capable of various expression through exploitation of materials and techniques, and the creative activity of an artist can be developed infinitely in proporation to the efforts spent on the investigation. Therefore I will never stop pursuing the creative and various formative world by continuous study and experiments.
