Installation의 특성

Abstract

Installation은 미술사의 한 쟝르로 나타난 것이 아니다. Assemblage, Dada, Minimal, Environment로 이어지면서 장소성과 새로운 전시공간의 중요성을 인식하고 조형영역의 확장에 따른 현대미술의 한 표현 양식으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 목적은 Installation의 작품분석에 의한 조형적 특성을 고찰하는데 있다. 본 연구의 내용은 Installation의 이론적 배경에 근거한 조형적 의미와 실내·외 전시공간의 분류에 의한 발단 단계의 작품과 본격적 설치작품을 분석하였다. 본 연구의 방법은 문헌과 작품을 도구로 Installation을 주로하는 작가 8명을 Installation 작품분석을 위해 有意標集하였고, 작품은 실내(천정, 벽, 바닥) ,실외(자연, 인위적) 공간으로 구분된 발단 단계의 작품 45점과 본격적 설치단계의 작품 13점을 目的表出하여 그 조형적 특성을 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. Installation의 조형적 특성은 첫째, 일회적 조형, 둘째, Scatter Piece로 형성된 조형, 세째, 제작실 포기 형태, 네째, 고정된 틀을 거부하고 자유로운 조형 공간의 영역확장에 따른 공간의 재 창조를 이루면서 Total Art를 형성한다.;Installation has not appeared as a genre of art history. But it, which has been succeeded in Assemblage, Dada, Minimal and Environment, has recognized the importance of choosing of exhibition space and finding new space, enlarged the formative domain and turned up as a form of expression in modern art. The purpose of this thesis is to study the formative properties by the analysis of Installation works. The content of this research is to analyze the formative meaning based on the theoretical background of Installation, the incipient works classified according to exhibition space, indoor or outdoor, and the real Installation works. The method I adopted in this research was to make use of documents and works. I conducted a intended sampling of 20 authors. And I did a purposive sampling of the 45 incipient works divided into indoor space -- the ceiling, a wall or the floor -- and outdoor space -- natural or artificial -- and the 17 real Installation works. I analyzed their formative qualities. The result of this research is as follows: the formative properties of Installation is to achieve the re-creation of space and build up Total Art through, first, one time formation, second, formation shaped with scatter pieces, third, the abandonment of manufacturing places, and, final, the refusal of streotyped frames and the enlargement of unrestricted formation space.
