現代 都市社會속의 人間에 관한 視覺的 表現

Abstract

인간은 본래 자신의 생명과 행복을 추구할 수 있는 능동적 主體이다. 인간은 그들의 편의와 행복을 위하여 도구를 발전시키고 오늘날에 이르는 눈부신 기제문명을 탄생시켰다. 人類 歷史上 현대사회만큼 物質的으로 풍요하고 편리한 생활을 누릴 수 있었던 적은 일찌기 없었다. 그러나 인간은 자연을 정복하고 개발하여 도시로 만들면서 얻은 물질적 혜택만큼 인간의 主體性과 精神的·情緖的 體驗이 위협당 하고 있다. 좀 더 행복하게 살기 위해 만든 환경이 이제 인간의 불행의 요인이 될 수도 있는 것이다. 이 문제는, 감정적·정서적 유대감 없이 밀집해서 살고 있는 도시인들, 그리고 그 속에서 多種多量의 非人間的 이미지에 의해 그들의 인간성을 침식당하는 도시인들에게 더욱 심각하다. 본 연구는 이러한 도시의 인간들에게 인간이 그들 참의 實存的 主體임을 깨닫도록 문제를 제기하기 위한 시도라고 할 수 있다. 따라서, 우선 Ⅱ장에서는 가장 근본적인 문제의 도출을 위해 현대사회의 병리적인 문제가 무엇이며, 그 문제의 認識과 해결의 모색이 어떻게 전개되었는가를 實存哲學과 藝術을 중심으로 살펴보았다. Ⅲ장에서는 좀 더 구체적으로 그러한 현대사회의 문제들이 인구의 밀집으로 인하여 도시에 집중되고, 본래 기능적 인공환경인 도시는 그 문제들을 심화시킬 뿐이며, 인간의 정신과 恩考에 가장 큰 영향력을 미치는 視覺環境은 그것을 더욱 가중시키고 있음을 보여주고 있다. 거기에서 人間을 위한 시각환경이 펄요하다는 문제가 발견되고, 바람직한 시각환경을 위해서는 시각메시지들이 사회적 책임의식과 휴머니즘의 바탕위에서 표현되어져야 한다는 기본 방향을 설정할 수 있었다. Ⅳ장에서는 그 방향에 입각하여 도시를 배경으로 한 휴머니즘적 시각언어로서의 일러스트레이션을 초현실적 기법으로 제작하여 연구주제를 표현해 보았다. 그리고 이 일러스트레이션들이 인간의 정신속에 內在해 있는 哲學約 批判精神을 불러 일으켜 實存的 主體로서의 삶에 대해 사고할 수 있기를 바라는 마음에서 제작하고 분석해 보았다. Ⅴ장의 결론에서는 사회의 단면을 보여주는 사회예술로서의 일러스트레이션은 그 사회가 당면한 문제를 시각화하고 그 문제에 대한 진지한 사고를 확대시킬 수 있도록 보다 많은 사람들에 의해 끊임없이 새롭게 시도되어야 할 시각적 과제임을 강조하였다.;Man is essentially an active subject for his life and happiness. Man has improved the instruments for his happiness and today achieves the brillient Machine Age. But now the more brilliently increases the material benefits which has been obtained by the exploitation of nature and the resultant construction of urban societies, the more seriously proceeds the destruction of subjectivity and the resultant spiritual, emotional crisis. The environments for the happiness of human results in a cause of the unhappiness. The problem is more serious in the urban life because it is carried on without emotional solidarity and therefore humanity is eroded by the flood of anti-humanist images. This study is an attempt of how we can manifest the subjectivity of man in urban life by way of visual expression. In Ch. 2, at first for the deduction of the most fundamental problem I survey the pathological characteristics in modern society and its effects on man, and then investigate the method of recognition and solution of that problems with the existential ism. In Ch. 3, I show more concretely that the problems specified in Ch.2 is concentrated in urban life and that the city, functionally planned artificial environments, necessarily worsen the situation. Among the worsening elements in city I focus on the visual environment in that it affects the spirit and thought of urban man very widely and deeply. From this I can draw on a conclusion that the visual environment for human is required and I establish the basic argument that for the construction of humanistic visual environment the visual message must be expressed on the basis of social responsibility and humanism. In Cha.4, as a humanistic visual message I apply the surrealistic style to illustration and I justified this style being one of the suitable styles for the humanistic visual messasge. In the content of works I intended that these illustrations stimulate the philosophical critique immanent in human spirit so that man can think of his life as an existential subject. In Ch. 5, the chapter of conclusion, I emphasized that illustration as a social art exposing a phase of society must visualize the problems of the society so critically that the members of society can considerate the problems seriously and grope for some clue for the problems.
