내재적 선험에 의한 자아표현

Abstract

현대사회는 과학기술의 발전으로 눈부신 문명의 발전을 이루었다. 인류는 문명의 발전으로 효율성에 최고의 가치를 두고, 누구에게나 쉽게 소비할 수 있는 기회가 주어짐으로써 가치관의 혼란이 오게 되었다. 겉으로 드러나는 풍요로운 모습 이면에 본질적인 정신이 결여된 공허감으로 지금의 이 현대사회를 표현할 수 있을 것이다. 물질적으로는 과도하게 풍족해 보이지만 기본적으로 논의되어야할 삶과 인간의 존엄성에 대한 본질적인 가치들은 정작 외면되었다. 이런 인간내면의 본질에 대한 목마름으로 예술가들은 작가 자신의 존재의식에 대한 가치를 현대미술 속에 담아내고 있다. 자아에 대한 이야기가 21세기를 살아가는 이들에게 주된 관심사로 등장하면서 자아정체성에 대한 다양한 표현양식과 차용, 해체를 통한 이미지들이 현대미술의 중요한 부분을 차지하고 있는 것이다. 무의식은 잠재된 정신의 심층으로 의식적인 것보다 더 근원적인 것이며, 창조활동에 있어서 정신세계의 무한한 확대로 인간 의식의 잠재적 가능성을 보여준다. 무의식의 정신적 표상을 표현하는 것으로 완전한 무의식 상태에서의 표출, 그야말로 창조의 근원점이며 다른 창작을 할 수 있는 에너지 역할을 한다고 할 수 있다. 이렇듯 많은 예술가들에게 있어서 무의식은 창조성의 원동력이 되는데 본 연구자에게 있어서도 창조의 출발점이 된다고 할 수 있다. 본 연구자는 무의식과 자아 사이의 관계에 주목하고 이런 관계 속에서 조형언어를 통해 자아표현을 이루고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 프로이트와 융이 성립한 심리학적 이론으로 무의식과 의식을 고찰하고, 예술에 영향을 주는 무의식의 창조성에 관하여 연구한다. 또한 자아를 형상화하기 위하여, 칸트가 말한 선험적 자아인식의 의미와 자크 라캉의 욕망이론에서의 자아를 연구하여 자아표현으로 본 연구자의 내면세계를 효과적으로 나타낼 수 있는 방향을 알아본다. 이와 같은 내면 깊은 곳의 심리 상태를 의식적 조형 형태로 전환시키는 섬유조형표현으로 인간의 가장 근원적인 마음에 접근해 보고자 한다. 본 연구자는 작품을 제작하면서 본인 내부의 소외된 면, 자기 방어적 모습을 인정하고 작품 안에서 사회에 보여 지는 나의 모습과 함께 조화롭게 표현함으로써 자아를 표출하고자 하였다. 본 연구자의 감정의 표출도구로 무의식에 의한 곡선과 색을 이용하였는데, 작품을 위하여 종이를 찢는다든지, 선을 그린다든지, 재봉틀을 돌리면서 본 연구자는 무의식의 표출로 인한 창조적 승화를 경험하고자 했다. 본 연구를 통하여 무의식과 자아의 관계, 하나의 합일된 ‘나’의 자기실현을 연구하면서 본 연구자의 내면세계에 대한 새로운 시각을 얻었으며 자아에 대한 각성을 할 수 있었고, 이것이 결국 조형표현의 심화를 가져온다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 향후 본 연구자의 내면세계를 표현하고 더 나아가 창조적 승화까지 이룰 수 있는 다양한 표현 가능성에 대한 탐구로 효과적 자아표현방법을 모색하고자 한다.;Modern society has achieved remarkable civilization through scientific technology. Along the way, mankind has placed utmost value on efficiency; as people are readily given opportunities to consume, their value system is confused. The dominant ambience of contemporary society can be portrayed as emptiness that lacks essential spirits despite seemingly affluent appearance. Although material wealth was achieved, fundamental value about life and human dignity has been neglected. With longing to regain human essence, artists pursue to express their own interpretation of life in their works. As the exploration of inner self has become important in the twenty-first century, a variety of methods to express identity, and to create images by borrowing and dismantling took significant part in the contemporary art. Unconscious state is in-depth part of a mind, which is more fundamental than conscious state of mind; in creative activity, unconscious mind can be expanded infinitely, and thus reveals great potential of a human mind. Expression in the absolute state of unconsciousness, that is, the representation of unconsciousness, is an origin of creativity, and acts as medium to trigger other creative activities. For many artists, unconscious state of mind evokes creativity in them, and so does for this research. Taken notice of the relationships between unconsciousness and self or ego, researcher has strived to accomplish self-expression through visual language amid such relations. In this research work, unconsciousness and consciousness based on psychological theory established by Freud and Jung were examined, and researcher also studied creativity in conjunction with unconsciousness that affects arts. In addition, in order to embody own ego, researcher investigated the directions that would enable the researcher to express own immanent world efficiently through the presentation of self having studied the meaning of consciousness of transcendental ego averred by Kant, and the ego presented in the theory of desire by Jacques Lacan as well. In this study, researcher strived to approach to the most fundamental mindset of human by means of fiber arts and visual expression that will transform such a psychological state from the immanent world deep in mind into a conscious, formative shape. Throughout the stages of production of art works, researcher tried to express true self having accepted those alienated aspects within the own inner world as well as self-defensive stance by depicting them in the works together with researcher’s look and features to be seen to society in a harmonious fashion. As tools to express researcher’s emotion, curve and color in accord with unconsciousness were used. Furthermore, researcher strived to experience creative sublimation by expressing the unconsciousness through tearing off papers or drawing curves or running a sawing machine. Through these research works concerned with relationships between unconsciousness and self or ego, and self-realization of one united, “I,” researcher could have obtained a new eye with regard to the inner world of own self, and also was able to experience an awakening to self. To summarize then, researcher could see that, in the end, those psychological factors would result in the enrichments of the visual, formative expressions. And, in future works, researcher will exert more efforts in expressing the own inner world, and, furthermore, with laborious quest of possibility of varied expressions that would enable artist to attain creative sublimation, researcher will continuously seek more effective method of the self-expression.
