나비의 생태적 과정을 통한 생명이미지

Abstract

In keeping pace with developing contemporary natural science, human capacity is increasing and the impossible in the passed is also coming true. This is the time a human being must restrict growth of the newest biotechnology, artificial fertilization and human reproduction. In spite of promotion of human health, the newest discovery and invention without morality and emotion is dangerous to destroy ecological system and ethics. The purpose of this research is recognizing of an importance of human psychological development process and representing metaphorically this in comparison with ecological development process of butterfly. The theoretical basis of this research is based of works of art representing a human psychological development and. their artist. In addition, this research is studying of specific characters of butterfly by comparison with psychological development of human being and images of butterfly throughout comtemporary sculptures. First of all, the object of work in this research are process an eggs, larvae, adult insects, the details of work is making a comparative study of ecological development of butterfly and psychological development of human - being, and the method of visual effect is changing shape by time and using various materials on butterfly. A shape is represented by fixing, attachment, and binding up(hanging) with each different materials to be transformed into growing wings of butterfly. Eggs and skin are made of soft material as an outer cover, on the other hand heavy and dense materials larvae and adult insects as internal contents. In materials, representing volume and tenderness as outer cover, fur and rugged paper is used. On the other hand, this work is made of gesso and bronze to represent its weight and activity as its contents. On the conclusion, I can discover a significant meaning of our human life representing an ecological development process of butterfly. The image of research works is expression of significance of life.;현대 자연과학의 발달로 인간의 능력은 증대되어 과거에는 생각도 하지 못했던 일이 현실로 다가오고 있다. 장기 이식 수술, 인공 수정 그리고 인간 복제까지 이제는 인간이 스스로 첨단 생명 공학 발전에 제한을 해야 할 때가 왔다. 장수와 건강은 인간의 신체를 개선하기 위함에도 불구하고, 도덕성과 정서와 같은 인간 내면의 심리 연구가 부족한 발견과 발명은 인간사회의 생명질서와 생명윤리를 무너뜨릴 위험을 안고 있다. 인간의 신체만큼이나 내면세계에서도 전 생애 동안 발달적 변화와 중요하다. 이 변화 과정을 나비의 생태과정에 은유적으로 표현하는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다. 본 연구의 이론적 배경은 나비의 상징적인 의미를 연구하여 서술하고 인간의 내면을 표현한 작가와 작품을 살펴본다. 그리고 나비의 상징적인 의미를 결부시켜 표현한 나비의 특성과 현대 조각에 나타난 나비의 이미지를 연구하였다. 알에서 우화된 유충이 성충이 되기까지의 생태과정을 표현대상으로 하고, 표현내용에서는 나비의 생태과정을 출생부터 성인이 되기까지 인간의 심리적 발달과정과 비교하여 연구한다. 표현내용에 따른 방법으로는 이를 시각화하기 위해 시간의 흐름에 따른 나비의 형태적 특성과 재료의 사용으로 나타나는 효과에 대하여 살펴보았다. 형태는 우화하는 나비의 형태를 변형하여 다른 성격의 재료를 각각의 의미에 맞게 끼우기, 붙이기, 매달기 등의 방법으로 표현한다. 외피의 역할을 하는 알과 허물이 부드러운 재료인 반면, 내용물인 유충과 성충은 무겁고 밀도 있는 재료로 표현함으로써, 생명체와 이를 감싸는 껍데기의 형태를 이질적인 재료의 결합으로 표현하였다. 재료에 있어서는 양감과 부드러운 감성을 외피에 표현하기 위하여 털과 한지를 사용하였다. 반면에 알에서 깨어 나온 유충의 역동성과 중량감을 위해 석고와 브론즈를 선택하였다. 본 연구는 나비의 생태를 통하여 인간의 내면세계를 기반으로 하는 생명성을 표현함으로써 유충을 상징하는 작품들의 단계에서 성인이 된 지금, 잊고 살았던 지나간 삶 속에서 일어난 다양하고 소중한 경험의 의미들이 인간 내면에 주는 큰 영향을 느끼게 한다.
