식물의 성장과정을 통한 생명의 이미지 표현연구

Abstract

자연의 모든 생명체는 끓임없이 변화한다. 그들은 한 순간도 쉬지 않고 생성과 소멸을 거듭하는 거대한 유기체라 할 수 있다. 자연물 중에서 식물은 씨앗으로부터 싹, 줄기, 잎이 자라 꽃을 피우기까지 일정한 성장법칙을 따라 거의 눈에 띄지 않을 만큼 서서히 변화한다. 이러한 식물의 성장 과정은 자연의 순환성을 보여줌과 동시에 생명체의 신비함에 대한 창작의 흥미를 유발시킨다. 본 연구의 목적은 이러한 식물의 성장과정의 각각의 순간을 포착하여 씨앗에서 싹이 자라 줄기와 잎으로 성장한 후에 꽃이 피는 과정의 이미지를 조형화 하는데 있다. 이론적 배경으로는 예술에 나타나는 생명성에 대해 알아보고 빛을 매개로 다각적인 시도를 한 예술작품을 현대작가를 통해 그 조형성을 파악하였다. 표현대상은 생명현상을 통한 생성, 성장, 소멸을 거듭하는 식물의 성장 과정이다. 표현재료는 생명의 강한 생동감과 신비함을 표현하기 위해서 표면에 광택을 지닌 스테인레스 판과 봉을 선택하였고 생명의 호흡을 표현하기 위해 점-멸 방식의 조명을 사용하였다. 표현방법은 스테인레스를 밴딩(bending)처리에 의한 곡선 구성으로 식물의 유기적 형태를 조형화 하였고 냉열발광체 E.L(Electro Luminescence)의 점-멸 회로를 설치하여 생명의 호흡을 표현하였다. 본 연구를 통해 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 우선 생성과 소멸을 반복하는 식물의 성장과정을 유기적인 곡선 형태로 표현하였다. 곡선의 스테인레스 봉을 재료로 식물의 유연함과 동시에 역동적인 이미지 표현하여 자연의 생명력을 보여주었다. 성장을 향한 무한한 에너지를 지닌 생명의 형태는 스테인레스 판과 봉을 이용한 상승적 유선형 구조로 드러낼 수 있었고 소멸 이미지는 낙화형태에서 추출하여 표현하였다. 또한, E. L을 접목시킴으로써 빛의 점-멸 효과, 즉 그것의 색상과 점-멸 시간의 간격 조절을 이용하여 각각의 성장단계의 특징과 생명의 호흡으로 표현하였다. 이와 같은 시도를 통하여 생성과 소멸을 반복하며 순환하는 자연을 유기적 형태의 집합으로 보고 하나의 씨앗에서 싹이 돋아나는 작은 식물이 조형적인 소재로 무한한 가능성이 있다는 것을 인식하였으며 식물의 성장 과정을 주관적이고 독창적인 해석으로 표현하였다.;Any organism have changed in nature continuously. They are also huge organic repeat creation and destruction. A plant in nature is following the steady rule of growth which to be a flower from a seed, bud, stem, and leaves, it's in striking contrast to a flower. and growing process of plant that almost can't recognize arouse interest always. This study shows a plant's growing process and every moment to be a flower from a seed. The purpose of this paper is moulding every images a plant in full through growth. Theoretically, Inquire into specific of life as a moulding source, and studied shapes of change as a part of nature and the reason of moulding from a modem sculpture art point of view. The beauty of material's curves and bended stainless plate and rod expressed movement and mystery, also flickering illuminator was used to express breath of organism. As a result, nature cycle like creation and destruction is expressed growing process of a plant. Bended stainless rod showed flexibleness and elasticity of a plant in nature. The organism, has an infinite energy toward growth, is expressed by stainless plate and rod as rising stream line. Conversely, image of destruction is expressed by fallen blossoms. E. L. (Electro Luminescence) emphasized effect of breath of organism and specifics of every growing process through time control and flickering colour. This paper let us recognize there is infinitival possibility even it's just moulding matter from small seed and express growing process of a plant as subjective and creative.
