패턴언어(Pattern language)의 접근방법에 의한 환경디자인 모형사례 연구

Abstract

The distorted historical recognition which have been created through the modern and recent age, promoted the Korean tradition to be lessen and to be distorted. Eventually it made some Korean things to become, to some degree, extinct from Korean history. However, The past is the mirror for future as some people said, We who live in this present, must struggle to find out ourselves lost to establish more certain identity and self lordship. In addition of restoring the traditional value through remining the past, the conversion of consciousness to get the microscopic view that is needed took off the racisom. While the storm of World history faces the new frontiers, the Post-Postism. These situation develop the 'simultaneity of globalization and localization' in this world. The environmental design, the complex of through and art and science, has more meaning than the position of the method for empowering the national competitive power. Pattern language is the system of shape language and establish such as environment. The approach of pattern language method is supported that the cell of environment is the pattern and that the process of problem solving that by them, so the new environmental language is created. This research looks into the Korean space shape and I suggest of the available model of environmental design for modern and future society. I develop this theme as following principles. 1. Through the transition process of paradigm in this modern society, I suggest that the environmental design must be newly regarded as the value system of image. 2. As the background of the objective and universal theory, I approached of the design method through the pattern language and that system. 3. As the background of the subjective and relative theory, I approached of Korean Space Shape. ·Through looking into the thought and transition processing of the Korean space shape, their problems were found out and the concept and chracteristics of the Korean space shape are introduced. ·So In addition to the background of the objective and universal theory, the network of theory in environmental design is established and the frame for the problem solving is suggested. 4. The whole steps for programming the space are divided into two groups: Design Research and Design Extraction <Step1: Design Research> ·concept language - finding ·pattern language - collection ·character language - extraction <Step2: Design extraction> ·pattern language - abstraction ·pattern language - establishment ·pattern language - development ·pattern language - compounding 5. In the application steps, by enthusiastic accepting the information from above research steps, the new Space shape language is created. <Step3: Design Application> ·Space Shape Language As the result of this research, it is recognized that the environmental design which is combined with scientific knowledge and artistic sense is the new value of an esthetic sense. further more it shall lead this century. This research examined about the each characteristic of 'our tradition' is the cornerstone for maintaining 'Ourselves' against this confusion and chaotic trend in this Age.;한국의 근대·근세에 걸친 굴절된 역사인식은 고유문화의 가치와 의의를 축소, 왜곡시켜 전통을 제대로 계승시키지 못하고 일부는 단절되기까지 하였다. 그러나 과거는 현재와 미래를 비춰주는 거울이므로 현재와 미래를 살아가는 우리들은 잃어버린 자아를 되찾고자 하는 노력을 함으로써 보다 뚜렷한 자기정체성과 주체성을 확립할 수 있다. 이와같은 과거와의 단절을 극복하며 전통적 가치를 회복하려는 노력은 또한 국수적 민족주의에서 벗어나 거시적으로 세계를 인식하는 의식의 전환을 필요로 한다. 반면 오늘날 세계사적인 흐름은 포스트-포스티즘(post-postism)이라는 새로운 국면을 맞이하고 있다. 이는 글로발리제이션(globalizaton)과 로칼리제이션 (localization)의 동시성이라는 새로운 상황을 전개한다. 이와 관련하여 환경디자인은 과학과 사상과 예술의 복합체로서 세계 각국의 적자생존의 경쟁 가운데 고유성과 특수성의 고부가가치를 창출하는 국가경쟁력 강화수단으로서의 위상과 의미를 지닌다. 이와같은 환경디자인에 있어서 패턴언어(Pattern Language)에 의한 접근방법이란 환경구성의 기본단위를 패턴으로 인식하고, 이들의 조합에 의하여 새로운 환경언어를 창출하는 하나의 디자인 문제해결과정이다. 본 연구는 이와같은 디자인 접근방법으로 한국적 공간조형을 고찰함으로서 현대와 미래사회에 적합한 환경디자인 모형을 제시하는데 그 목적을 두고, 다음과 같은 과정으로 진행하였다. 1. 현대 패러다임의 변환과정을 통해 환경디자인이 탈물질적인 개념의 이미지체 계로서 새롭게 인식되어야 함을 밝혔다. 2. 연구의 객관적이며 보편적인 이론의 배경으로서 패턴언어와 패턴언어체계에 의한 디자인 접근방법을 고찰하였다. 3. 연구의 주관적이며 상대적인 이론의 배경으로서 한국적 공간조형에 대하여 고찰하였다. 한국적 공간조형의 사상과 변천과정을 통해 현재의 문제점을 인식하고, 한국적 공간조형의 개념과 특징을 고찰하였다. 그리하여 앞서 고찰한 객관적이며 보편적인 이론의 배경과 함께 환경디자인 이론의 네트?p 구조를 형성하며, 본 연구 문제해결과정을 위한 준거의 틀을 마련하였다. 4 공간을 프로그래밍하는 디자인 전단계를 크게 디자인 리서치단계와 디자인 도출단계로 구분하여 발전시켰다. 전체과정은 다음과 같다. <디자인 리서치(research)단계> · 개념언어 - 찾아내기 (concept language - finding) · 패턴언어 - 수집하기 (pattern language - collection) · 특징언어 - 도출하기 (character language - extraction) <디자인 도출(extract)단계> · 패턴언어 - 추상화하기 (pattern language - abstraction) · 패턴언어 - 정립하기 (pattern language - establishment) · 패턴언어 - 전개하기 (pattern language - development) · 패턴언어 - 조합하기 (pattern language - compounding) 5. 디자인 적용단계에 있어서는 지금까지의 과정에 의하여 제시된 정보를 적극적으로 수용하는 새로운 공간조형 언어를 창출하였다. < 디자인 적용(application)단계> · 공간조형언어 - 창출하기 (space shape language - creating) 이와같은 연구결과, 과학적인 지식과 수준높은 예술적 감각이 결합된 환경디자인은 현대와 미래의 시대정신을 이끌어가는 새로운 미적가치임을 재인식할 수 있었다. 그러므로 개별적인 특징성을 추구하는 '우리의 것'에 대한 연구는 혼돈과 유행의 물결이 도래하는 21세기의 삶 속에서 자기다움을 지켜갈 수 있도록 하는 하나의 방향성 제시였음에 그 의의를 둔다.
