제주도 전통민가를 통해 본 섬유작품 연구

Abstract

Colors induce psychological response and affect human activities, and the humans affected by color effect within environment. Natural Color System, which is human concentrated and studies relationship among human, light, and environment, is useful method in color design due to its relationship scrutiny of color and accurate application of color which has advantage in recognizing color in the aspect of phenomenology based on perceptive experience, schematizing intrinsic attribute of color, and indicating in consistency. Also, we need study of a local color through natural environment and culture because color shows its culture of that region. Peculiar color culture has been developed in every country, which has its own color culture meeting its culture and natural environment. Therefore, the study of traditional color has extremely high value. Thus, we will now analyze the color and the form characteristics of Jeju Island traditional commoner's house, which contains the unique culture of geographical environment and characteristics of geographical distinction from volcanic activity. Jeju Island people created their own pure beauty by adapting and living within nature and formed their own traditional culture. Cultural tradition of Jeju Island that has been formed and developed through Korean tradition can be represented as fiber art work through recognition of native culture reflecting traditional culture. Thus, followings are the results through above studies. First, NCS that think highly of relationship among human, nature, environment and relationship of contiguity color presents method of color design and permit efficient practical use. Second, It is important to find the traditional color of region. because color include other color palette according to social cultural factor. Third, we can examine and apply relationship of color by converting natural color system and schematizing objective color of Jeju traditional house which have peculiar special quality in our country Fourth, Jeju island tradition private house and lattice style of roof that has the traditional characteristics based on characteristics of geography, outer wall of private house which is made from natural materials, private house that have peculiar traditional special quality with peculiarity on topography etc. reflects the forms of geographical and traditional characteristics. Fifth, fiber work reflecting traditional culture can be expressed as culture heritage in color and form of Jeju tradition private house. Jeju Island characteristic color also express animation by unity subtraction of repeat and change, change of various texture emphasis by chroma subtraction, color effect of depth subtraction, and various changes in texture. This research presents method of color design through natural color system theory to study human, light, relation of environment and express fiber work that tradition is reflected by modeling principle of sack, form, texture, because there is the purpose of special quality of Jeju Island tradition private house which is preserving peculiar culture heritage. Color design and human, nature, research of environment, and research about traditional color which are based on escape in application of color by subjective color presence with science by natural color system have important value.;인간의 지각과정에서 색채는 중요한 부분이다. 인간은 수많은 색채 환경 속에서 민감하게 반응하여 깊은 영향을 받는다. 따라서 고대로부터 우리는 색채로 진단하고 색채로 치료하는 과정이 있었으나 근년 특히 이 부문이 크게 확대되어 가고 있으므로 현대에도 색채로 치유하고 색채로 인생을 전환시키는 일이 확대되어 가고 있다. 인간 중심적이고 인간, 빛, 환경의 관계성을 연구하는 NCS는 색채의 내재적 속성을 명확하게 도식화하고 일관성 있게 표시할 수 있다는 장점으로 색채의 정확한 적용을 가능하게 한다. 색채는 그 지역의 문화를 반영하므로 색채 활용에 적극적 자세가 요구된다. 나라마다 문화와 지역성에 따라 독특한 색채문화가 생성되어 그 문화와 자연환경에 맞는 고유의 색채 문화를 가지고 있다. 그러므로 전통 색채에 대한 연구는 매우 중요한 가치를 가지고 있다. 우리나라에서 고유한 자연 환경과 문화를 가지고 있는 제주도는 섬이라는 지리적 환경과 화산활동으로 인한 지형상의 특수성으로 인해 고유하고 독특한 문화를 지니고 있다. 나라마다 문화에 따라 독특한 색채 문화가 형성되어 고유한 색채를 가지고 있으므로 고유색에 대한 연구는 중요한 가치를 가지고 있다. 그러므로 본 연구는 아름다운 자연 속에서 대자연의 혜택을 순응하는 자세로 순수하고 소박하게 살면서 순수한 미를 창출한 제주 고유의 민속 문화를 제주도 전통민가의 색채와 형태로 재창출하려는 연구이다. 제주도의 문화적 전통은 한국적 전통에서 형성되고 발전되어 왔으므로 향토 문화에 대한 인식을 통해 전통 문화를 반영한 섬유 작품을 표현하고자 한다. 조형원리에 의해 색채와 형태의 조형성을 표현하였으며, 이러한 연구를 통한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 인간, 빛, 환경의 관계성을 중시하고 인접색과의 관계를 중시하는 NCS를 근거로 색채의 효율적 활용을 가능하게 하였다. 둘째, 지역색은 자연발생적 또는 사회적, 문화적 요인에 따라 다른 칼라팔레트를 가지고 있으므로 지역의 고유한 색채를 찾는 일은 중요하다. 셋째, 우리나라에서 고유한 특성을 가지고 있는 제주도 전통민가의 색채를 NCS에 적용시켜 객관적으로 제시하였다. 넷째, 지형상의 특수성을 바탕으로 고유한 전통적 특성을 가지고 있는 제주도 전통민가의 초가의 '새'와 지붕의 격자형의 새끼줄 형태, 자연재료로 만들어진 민가의 외벽, 민가를 둘러싸고 있는 담 등은 지형상의 특수성과 전통적 특징을 반영한 형태이다. 다섯째, 제주도 전통민가의 색상과 형태로 전통 문화를 반영한 섬유 작품을 표현할 수 있다. 제주도 특유의 색상에서 채도 대비에 의한 강조, 깊이감과 생동적 이미지의 색채 효과, 반복과 변화에 의한 통일감, 다양한 질감의 변화에 의한 생동감을 표현하였다. 본 연구에서는 인간, 빛, 환경의 관계성을 NCS로 제시하고 고유한 전통 문화를 보존하고 있는 제주도 전통민가의 특성을 고찰하여 색, 형태, 질감, 공간감의 조형원리에 의해 고유색과 형태가 반영한 섬유 작품을 표현하였다. 주관적인 색채 선호에 따른 색채의 적용에서 벗어나 경험을 바탕으로 하는 색채디자인과 인간, 빛, 환경의 관계성 연구, 고유색과 전통에 대한 연구는 중요한 가치를 가지고 있다.
