현대미술에 반영된 정신(Psyche)과 자아상징 연구

Abstract

우리 인류가 존재해온 이래 인간의 존재와 관련하여 인간의 심리에 관한 연구가 끊임없이 시도되어 왔다. 이 논문에서 나는 심리학이라는 분야를 빌어 예술가들에 의해 창조되고 때로는 파괴되는 예술작품과 그것을 창조한 예술가들의 경험들이 축적된 무의식간의 관계를 다루어 보고자 한다. 이러한 공부는 갑작스럽게 내 작품속에 등장한 '호스'라는 물질과 많은 변화를 해온 내 작업속에 일정하게 나타나는 '흘림'이라는 조형적 요소를 내 삶 속에서 더 잘 이해하도록 도와주었다. 내용적 연구인 Ⅱ-1에서 나는 현대미술에 드러나는 정신들 중 나의 작업과 연관이 될 만한 '난해함', '페티쉬', '신체성', '은유적 표현'이라는 네가지를 언급하고 다른 작가들의 삶과 경험의 축적이 심리적으로 그들 작업에 어떻게 반영되는지를 공부해 보았다. 이렇게 이해된 내용을 바탕으로 내적 연구의 두번째 단원인 Ⅱ-2에서는 내 작품속에 등장하는 '흘림'을 자유와 연관시켜 언급하고 '흘림'으로 대변되는 자유의지가 왜 나에게 있어 그토록 큰 의미인지를 분석해 보았다. 그 다음 최근의 내 작업에 등장하기 시작한 호스가 나의 대체물로 해석되기 까지의 나의 상황을 설명하고 그것이 하나의 페티쉬적 역할을 하고 있음을 설명하였다. Ⅲ단원인 '작품의 실제'에서는 캔버스 작업의 평면성과 오브제가 지니는 입체성, 그리고 그것이 위치하게 되는 입체적 공간에 대해 설명해 보았다. Ⅱ-1, Ⅱ-2, Ⅲ을 통해 이해된 나의 삶과 작업 이야기는 작품분석에서 각각의 작품분석을 통해 최종적으로 정리되고 있다. 이 논문을 통해 나는 나 자신을 있는 그대로 인정하게 되었으며 그러한 노력은 나의 작업속에 무의식적으로 반영되는 조형적 요소들을 흥미롭게 바라볼 수 있게 해 주었다.;Since the human existency, there has been various studies on human nature related to psychology. In this thesis, I tried to show the relations between the works the artists produced and the subconscious aspects of the artists based on psychology, and through that I tried to understand myself and my works better. In chapter II-1, I chose 'enigma', 'fetish', 'body', and 'metaphor' among the psyches in modem art and I wanted to show the relationship between these elements and my works. I mentioned two major symbols of myself, 'hul-lim(dripping)' and 'hose' in chapter II-2. I related my 'hul-lim' to the freedom that kept me painting and I interpretated the 'hoses' as the substitute of myself. In chapter III, I explained two major characteristics that exist in my works which are two dimentional aspects in paintings and three dimentional aspects in hose pieces. I concluded my thesis explaining each work using the studies that I have done in chapter II-1 and II-2. Through this thesis, I approached to my works related to the psychology and I have realized that reading the works regarding the subconscious aspects helped me to understand my works and myself better.
