가톨릭 전례복의 문양, 색채를 도입한 현대복식 디자인 연구

Abstract

예로부터 종교와 예술은 우리가 회화, 조각, 건축, 음악 등 여러분야에서 보아왔듯이 서로 깊은 관계를 맺어왔다. 종교는 많은 부분에서 예술을 통하여 종교적 의미를 표현해왔고, 예술로 표현함으로서 종교적 효과를 더욱 높일 수 있었다. 예술은 몸과 마음의 보이지 않는 합일, 이른바 전인에서부터 시작하기 때문에 순수한 이념보다 종교적 의미, 즉 성(聖)을 전달하는데 훨씬 효과적이다. 종교는 시각적 효과를 필요로 하기 때문에 예술을 도구로서 이용한다. 그리고 가톨릭에서 사용되는 회화나, 문양들은 신도들에게 글보다 쉽고 강하게 종교적 메시지를 전할 수 있었다. 이에 본 연구는 가틀릭의 전례에 사용되어졌던 전례복에 나타난 문양과 색채를 분석하여 이를 현대여성복식에 응용도입하여 표현함으로써 현대복식 디자인에 있어서 표현 대상범위를 확대시켰다. 이제까지의 연구들은 전례복 자체의 역사나 분류에 관한 연구, 혹은 종교적 관점으로 보는 전례복 문양에 관한 연구가 이루어졌으나 본 연구는 복식의 예술적 측면과 기능적 측면의 통합에 의의를 두고, 종교적 모티브의 도입응용을 통해 종교적 감정 및 메세지 전달의 측면 뿐 아니라 시각적 미를 추구하는 관점에서 현대 여성복식과 종교적 모티브와의 조화 및 다양한 디자인 개발의 가능성 제시에 목적을 둔다. 본 연구의 방법은 이론적 고찰의 연구를 위한 문헌조사와 사진참고자료를 수집하고, 독일의 성당의 박물관을 중심으로 실물자료들을 촬영하여, 이를 정리분석하였고, 이를 토대로 작품을 제작하였다. 작품은 가톨릭 전례복 중 제의와 갑바에 나타난 문양, 색채를 중심으로 이를 현대적인 자수와 아플리케 기법을 통하여 현대여성복식에 도입응용하여 실물 4점과 일러스트레이션 4점, 총 8점을 제작하였다. 위의 작품들을 토대로 나온 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 절대적 종교의 힘에 의해 제작되었던 전례복의 문양표현기법인 자수와 아플리케를 도입함으로써 섬세하고 독특한 수공예적 질감의 표현효과를 재현할 수 있었다. 둘째, 가톨릭 전례복의 문양을 현대 디자인 감각에 부합되도록 도입응용함으로써 현대복식의 표현 영역을 넓힐 수 있었다. 셋째, 가톨릭 전례복의 색채를 현대여성복식에 도입 응용함으로써 종교적인 위엄과 경건의 표현미를 발현시킬 수 있었다. 네째, 종교적 동기의 문양의 표현과 사용에 대한 전통적이고도 고유한 영역에서 탈피해, 문양요소가 미적 표현수단이라는 새로운 시각을 형성할 수 있었다.;癤?rom ancient times, there existed a connection among all kinds of art; painting sculpture, architecture and music etc. In older to reap He fruit, every religion express the deeper of its beliefs through all kinds of art. Art started from the invisible unification between spiritual objects and physical objects, so called "whole men". Therefore art is much effective in expressing the meaning of religion, holiness, than pure ideology. Religion always needs art because it can not exist without the from and the shape. Mankind has been moved and devoted by the excellent religious patterns and colours. Furthermore those thing have made believers to be proud of their religions and find themselves in common world. On those facts, this study selects religion of the Catholic during the 16th and the 18th centuries and has been analysed and modified by these processes. 1. Analysing the patterns, from of expressions and colours of ceremonial clothes. 2. Expressing old ceremonial clothes in modern fashion through modifying. 3. Extending the area of patterns, colours and form of expression in modern fashion. Until now most of the studies about ceremonial clothes have been completed with history of ceremonial clothes itself, classification or patterns of ceremonial clothes from religious point of view. This study differs from previous studies in that it tries to create harmony in combining ceremonial clothes with modern fashion. It analyzes the resultant designs from a fashion point of view as opposed to religious point of view. The methods followed is outlined below: 1. Collect literature cited and reference photos for theoretical studies. 2. Visit most of available cathedrals, churches and museums in Germany to take photo's of existing references. 3. Analysing and concluding this sturdy. 4. Based on that conclusion, modifying and designing 4 new modern outfit and 3 illustrations, ich are focused on practical use. Based on the analysis of all references, the following conclusion have been drawn: 1. During the modifying form of expression from ceremonial clothes to modern fashion, very delicate substance of hand crafts by absolute power of holy God can be founded. 2. Express area of patterns in modern fashion can be enlarged through modifying patterns of ceremonial clothes between the 16th and the 18th century to modern fashion with sense of presence. 3. By using the colours from ceremonial clothes in modern fashion, images of religious dignity and piety can be expressed. 4. Harmony between old ceremonial clothes and modern fashion can be contrived through all those factors of modification.
