자연형태를 통한 자수표현에 관한 연구

Abstract

조형예술의 매개체로서 풍부한 잠재력을 지닌 섬유는 20세기 미술의 모든 이즘(ism)을 포용하는 광범위한 표현기법을 통해 섬유예술로 발전되었다. 섬유예술의 표현기법 중에서도 자수는 오랜 전통을 근간(根幹)으로 현대 섬유예술적 발전과 더불어 소재와 화면의 부조적 차원면에서 유기적인 관계를 유지하며 표현기법의 폭넓은 다양성을 지니게 되었다. 이에 섬유예술의 한 분야로서 자수가 나아가야 할 진로를 설정하여 개척하기 위해서 전통자수의 창조적 정신과 문화사를 기초로 한 자수의 변화 양상을 재인식하는 올바른 이해와 연구가 필요하다고 생각한다. 전통자수를 통해서 우리 민족의 미의식과 정신적 상징의 가치를 지니는 자연주적 성향은 자연을 자수로 표현하기 위해 다양한 표현기법이 개발되고 시대에 따라 다른 양식이 형성되어 왔다. 이러한 관점에서 본 연구에서는 <한국적 자연주의>로 규정지어지는 한민족(韓民族)의 미의식을 살펴보며, 자연의 서정적 이미지를 현대적 표현으로 자수작품에 반영하여 미적 체험과 내면적 표현형식이 조화된 자연의 조형화를 추구하는 것을 연구의 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위한 이론적 배경으로는 한국인의 미의식과 감정이 가시적으로 표현된 자수작품을 통해서 자연의 표현을 심도있게 분석하였으며, 또한 자수의 표현기법에 대한 폭을 넓혀감으로써 보다 한국적인 새로운 섬유창작예술 작품으로서의 가능성을 살펴 볼 수 있었다. 작품제작에 있어서는 자연에서 얻은 서정적 이미지를 형상화하는 과정에서 본인의 심상(心象)을 현대자수에 의한 자연의 미적 표현에 심혈을 기울였다.;Fiber has potential energies abundantly as a medium of Formative Art and it has developed into fiber art, that includes all kinds of ism of art in 20th century, by the neabs of various techiques in expressions, Embroidery, one of the expressional techniques in Fiber Art, also kept its continual development as of modern fiber art, maintaining better relations with material improving arid with the changing ism of art. And, on account of that modern fiber artists could create wide and various techniques in its way to express. To find the way to stabilize and develope the fore - sight embroidery area, as a part of the filed of fiber art, there we meet the necessity to acquire the upright understanding and to research the creative spirit and cultural history of Korean traditional embroidery. Through researching the traditional embroidery works, we can find that naturalistic inclination showing in them represents the symbol of our racial spirit. To represent nature at embroidry works, our ancestor developed various expressional techniques and formed different modes as of change the era. In this aspect, I will research the esthetic consciousness of the Korean race which can be defined as (Korean Naturalism). From the foregoing researching I will study for the purpose of harmonize my esthtic experience in nature with expressinal form of internal emotion and to reflect lyric image of nature in modern embroidery works. To achieve such purposes, I will theoretically analyze the expression of nature that represents the esthetic consciousness and sentiment of Korean race through the traditional embroidery works. Also I will seek new possibilities to establish Korean embroidery as a creative fiber art through the various experiment expressional techniques in embroidery. In the work performance, I put forth ail my energy to express the formation of Lyric image from the nature and esthetic mental image through modern embroidery.
