기호적 의미와 촉각적 물성의 결합

Abstract

오늘날 사회와 문화는 전반에 걸쳐 급격한 시대적 변화를 겪고 있으며 , 수직적인 위계 질서보다는 수평적인 다양성을 중시하는 구조로 옮겨 가고 있다. 예술도 마찬가지로 '다원주의'라고 불릴 수 있는 시대적 조류 속에서 영원한 진리나 미를 추구하는 고전적인 가치 체계 대신 다양성과 가변성이 수용되었으며 각각의 영역이 독자성을 고수하기 보다 상호 침투하는 현상이 발견되고 있다. 특히 회화라는 쟝르가 고유영역을 벗어나 조각과 통합되는, 또는 그 구분이 애매해지는 현상을 볼 수 있다. 예를들어 회화에서는 오브제가 첨가되거나 화면에 입체적인 성격이 부여되고, 조각에서는 표면효과의 강조와 색채의 사용등으로 회화고유의 특성이 두드러진다. 이와 같은 절대양식의 붕괴와 과거의 모든 양식을 포함한 다양한 양식의 공존은 현대 미술의 커다란 특징이 될 수 있을 것이다. 이와같은 관점에서 본인도 평면이나 입체라는 쟝르의 구속을 벗어나 공간에 대해 새롭게 인식하고 열린 태도를 갖음으로써 예술에 대한 다양한 접근을 시도하였으며, 아울러 현대사회의 현실을 수용함과 동시에 시공간을 초월한 인간의 본질적인 내적 세계를 드러내고자 하였다. 본 연구는 본인의 작품제작에 있어서 작품의 내용과 형식의 특성 및 배경을 중심으로 연구하였다. 일상적으로 사회에 통용되는 기호를 사용함으로써 기호가 갖는 이원적 의미와 작품에서 나타나는 기호형상의 반복의 효과와 그 의미에 대해 연구해 보았다. 유기체적 형태에 의한 생성의 이미지 표현으로 촉각적인 재료의 사용과 설치를 통한 다양한 공간 활용 방법을 제시해 보았다. 끝으로 회화적인 요소와 조각적인 요소의 결합이 갖는 표현의 가능성, 다양성 및 새로운 감수성의 유발에 대해 고찰해 보고자 하며 이와같은 분석을 통해 작업에 대한 반성과 앞으로의 방향모색을 시도하였다.;Society and culture are under radical change these days, particularly in social structure. Rather than the limited hierarchical order, horlzontal variety occurs. The same may be said of art. Along with the current of the times called 'pluralism', multiplicity and variability are accepted a s important values instead of the value system that emphasizes the classics eternal(unchanging), truth and beauty. Each realm of a t forms mutually encompasses each other rather than keeps to its own art. Most importantly, we can see the phenomenon that painting frees itself fom its own realm and interacts with sculpture, and the difference between painting and sculpture becomes obsolete. In painting, for example, objet is added or sculptural elements are used. In sculpture, qualities origined from painting are used by the emphasis of superficial effects and the use of colors. The collapse of the immutable style and the co-existence of various forms including all the past style, are distinctive features of modern art. Considering these trends, I have tried to approach art in a different way by escaping the restriction of separating a plane from a cube, and by understanding the new ideology of space, which is an attempt to adopt an open attitude. I have also tried to reveal the inner world of human beings that transcends time and space as well as to accept reality of modern society I conducted this research with its focus upon the characters and background of meaning and style in producing art works. I used the dual signs that are current in society, studying their meanings and the effects of repetition of the symbolic forms are repeated in the art works. In addition, I suggested various ways of utilizing space through the use and installation of tactile materials to express the image of creation by the formation of organisms. Lastly, I have tried to examine the possibility, variety and the induction of new sensibilities resulting from the combinaion of painting and sculpture through attempts at reviewing the works, thus giving direction to my art.
