기하적 형태의 표현가능성에 관한 연구

Abstract

기하적 형태는 다분히 대상의 비재현적 요소를 내재하고 있는 추상형태이며, 일반적으로 정확함과 차가움의 의미를 지닌 이지적 형태라고 볼 수 있다. 자연을 분석함으로써 얻어진 기하적 형태는, 그 스스로가 이미 자연의 질서를 포함하고 있는 기본 형태이며, 자극 그 자체로서 우리의 시각에 반응하는 간결성을 이루고 있음을 몬드리앙의 작품을 통해 파악하였다. 또 정삼각형, 정사각형, 정원등은 이러한 자연적 질서 외에도 수학적 질서를 내포하고 있는 객관적인 형태라는 사실도, 바자렐리의 조형단위로 이루어지는 작품들에서 보아 왔다. 형태가 갖고 있는 질서에 의한 규칙성은 기하학적 추상, 곧 차가운 추상이라는 일반적 해석을 낳게 하였고, 종종 현대사회의 도식화되고 비정서적인 현실을 나타내는 것으로 사용되어 왔다. 그러나 본 논자는 이러한 개념에서 탈피하여 새로운 조형요소로서의 기능을 부여함으로써, 그로 제작되는 작품들이, 실제적 활용을 통해 보다 넓은 영역으로 확되대어 그래픽 디자인의 역할을 할 수 있도록 하였다. 기하적 형태가 새로운 조형 요소로 활용되기 위하여 표현의 배경을 동양의 사고에서 찾아, 형태에서의 차가움의 문제, 비정서적인 문제와, 표현에서의 공간의 문제, 은유의 문제등을 파악하였다. 따라서 Ⅱ장에서는 몬드리앙과 말레비치를 중심한 기하학적 추상과 바자렐리로 대표되는 씨네띠즘을 분석하여 기하적 형태의 의미를 확립하였고, Ⅲ장에서는 동, 서양의 사고를 비교하면서 동양적 사고의 근원을 연구하였다. 서양 사고로서, 고대 희랍을 시작으로 하여 서구철학의 전반에 걸쳐 형성된 존재의 철학을, 그들의 자연관과 세계관을 통해 고찰하였고, 동양 사고로서는, 중추를 이루어 왔던 중국의 사상을 중점적으로 연구하여 그들의 자연관과 세계관을 알아봄으로써, 근본적으로 서양의 존재론과는 대립이 되었던 관계의 철학을 알아 보았다. 동양의 회화에서 나타나는 관계의 철학은 '경향의 美' 라는 개념으로 나타났는데, 본 연구에서는 이를 취하여 작품과의 유사성을 제시함으로써, 동양적 사고에 입각한 기하적 형태의 표현을 성립시키고 작품이 가지는 전체적인 시각과 특징으로서의 figure와 ground의 효과는 그 기본개념을 논술하고 동양적 사고에 입각하여 재조명 함으로써, 기존의 기하적 형태들을 주요 소재로 다루었던 작품들이 갖는 관계성을 탈피하려 하였다. 그리고 나아가 작가로서의 송신자와 관람자로서의 수신자 사이에 공감대를 형성할 수 있는 그래픽 디자인으로서의 발전 가능성을 제시하였다.;The Geometric form is generally considered as the Abstract. From which has non representative factor, and it would be regarded as the intellectual form with exactness and calmness. The Geometric Form from nature-analysis is just the basic form which has the Natural order, and it would be responded to our vision with very simple by stimulus itself. All about these characters is understood by some works of Mondrian. Square, Triangle and Circle are thought to be the objective Geometric Form with mathematical order as well as with such natural order. And that could be understood in consideration of the plastic unit works by Vasarely. Therefore, such regulation caused by the orders was possibly understood as the Geometrical Abstract namely Cool Abstract, or sometimes belived as one of presenting formalized, not emotional, matter of fact of modern society. But I've tried to be free from above concept and have applied to add new functions of plastic character on the artwork in order to be worked as one of the applicable points of Graphic Design as well as the role of Elemental Design which is the basic procedure of art education. For the Geometric Form being worked as the new plastic character, Ⅰ got the idea of expression from Oriental thought of way. In chapter Ⅱ, the meaning of Geometric Form is defined by means of analyzing Geometrical Abstract by Mondrian, and Malevich, and Cinetisme represented by vasarely. In Chapter Ⅲ, it is described how the Oriental thought of way comes out, by comparing Oriental-Western thought of way. As the Western thought of way, the philosophy of existence which is formed by whole general western philosophy starting old greek, has been studied through their view of nature and their view of world. As the Oriental thought of way, the Chinese ideology, as it has been center of Orient historically, has been studied through their view of nature etc. In the procedure, I have found that the Oriental thought of way is related philosophy and it was basically opposite concept from the Western Ontology. The related philosophy on Oriental art, was appeared to the "Beauty of Trend," and I pick it up on my ortwork to give Geometric Form based on the Oriental thought of way. The 'figure and ground' effect as the total characteristics of visual perception for my artwork is described on basic concept in this chapter. As the calmness feeling on this artwork changes smoodly by emotional expression, I've hired to get over any limit for the artworks which have some subject materials in basic Geometric Forms. Furthermore, I've tried to indicate some possibility of development of Graphic Design which can be worked as communication system between transmitter and receiver as viewing people.
