Image의 흐름을 통한 작품구성

Abstract

Art has reflected the phase of the age and society repeating and the atternafive with or against the social transformation. In addition, art has been perceived as the activity of super-natural or spiritual creativeness. Though the modern art has some difficulties reflecting the society, the problem will not be solved until a proposition that art should be regarded as a source of knowledge as religion or history and the method of expressing art is different from that of pursuing other cultwral sciences is settled. Firstly I intend to look over the similarities among various methods of expressing art which has continued to over come the region and the time in order to admit the art language what if should be. Besides I intend to summarize the relocting among of the art philosoply, the theory of Oriental art and the history of art. We have been in the age which requires novelty and persue it. But is there any ending point in doing it? Naturally I think of Lao-tzu's saying "Something different does not mean new and something new does not mean the best." Of course history has thaught as everything on earth should change, the desire for the most active change may be calm down someday. Artists are those who are experts in transmit his feeling to others, not those who own certain means of expressing special idea and beauty. I this respect, artist should exploited the term for expressing his own art with his own traits. I intend to find out not only some relative ships between abstractness and concreteness of mordern art but also the similarifies between Oriental and Occidental theory of dichotomy. Lastly, in order to supplement the abstractness of the work and to add some information about the attitude of making the work, I will arrange logically a variety of aspect of image, which will give some help for making a work of art.;예술은 시대와 사회의 모습을 반영하며 그 사회의 변화상에 순행과 역행을 거듭해 오고 있었고, 이에 따라 점차 여러 측면의 변화를 계속해온 것이다. 또한 예술은 현실의 반영인 동시에 현실을 넘어선 超自然的·內在的 창조활동으로도 인식되었다. 오늘날의 예술은 사회상 반영에 따르는 난해성이 문제로 대두되나 본인은 이에 관한 논의가 예술도 종교나 역사와 같은 지식의 원천이라는 사실과 예술이 가지는 표현언어가 다른 인문 분야와 다르게 추구되어 왔다는 전제 없이는 이해되기 어렵다고 보며 예술의 표현방법에 관해 살피면서 예술 언어가 갖는 당위성을 수용하기 위해 지역성과 시대성을 초월하며 계속되어온 예술 표현의 유사성들을 찾아보며 예술철학과 동양화론, 미술사 등을 참고로 하여 그 내용을 비교·정리해 보고자 한다. 우리는 새로움이 요구되는 시대에 살고 있고, 지속적으로 이것을 추구해오고 있다. 그러나 이러한 추구에 끝이 있겠는가? 자문해 볼 때 "다르다고 새롭지 않으며, 새롭다고 지선하지도 않다"는 魯子의 글을 떠올려 보게 된다. 물론 모든 것이 변한다는 것은 역사의 가르침이며, 따라서 오늘날의 이토록 활기찬 변화에 대한 욕구 역시 언젠가는 수그러져 조용히 그 맥을 이을런지도 모른다. 화가는 자기의 감정전달을 수단으로하는 것이 직업인 자이며, 결코 特定觀念 또는 美를 나타내는 수단을 소유한 자는 아닌 것이다. 그러므로 화가는 자신의 힘을 중심으로 자신의 예술을 위한 표현 언어 개발에 힘써야 한다. 본인은 새로운 표현언어를 위해 현대회화의 추상과 구상과의 관계 규명과 동양과 서양의 이분법적 논리의 상통되는 바를 정리해보고 이를 통한 조화를 모색하여 본다. 또한 내용의 추상성을 보완하고자 위에 관계된 작화태도에 관한 정리를 덧붙여 총체적으로는 작품 제작과정에서 image 전개의 여러측면을 논리적으로 정리해 봄으로써 작품구성에 도움을 주고자 한다.
