남편의 직업만족도와 결혼만족도가 아내의 결혼만족도에 미치는 영향

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to compare the marital satisfaction of husbands with those of wives, and to examine two types of stress contagion, spillover model and crossover model. Data are analyzed from a sample of 157 married couple, living in Seoul, Suwon and Inchon. SAS program were used for data analysis, and the data were verified by correlation analysis, paired t-test, one-way anova and muitiple regression. The major results of this study are summarized as follows. 1. Husbands' marital satisfaction is higher than those wives'. 2. In husbands' demographic variables, the age and job have a positive effect on that couple's marital satisfaction. In another words, the younger husbands are, and more professional they are, the higher wives' marital satisfaction are. 3. In housekeeper wives' demograpic variables, there is no factor which have positive effect on their marital satisfaction. Expect housekeeper wives' demograpic variables, her factors which have meaningful correlation with her marital satisfaction are wives' marriage conflict, her attitute to married-women having job. 4. Expect husbands' demograpic variables, his factors which have meaningful correlation with wives' marital satisfaction are his marital satisfaction, marriage conflict, job satisfaction, conflict between job and marriage (1) (2). 5. A husbands' job satisfaction and marital satisfaction depends on his education. The more professional he is, the higher his job and marital satisfaction is. 6. As a result of multiple regression over wives' marital satisfaction, this study reveals that husbands' job satisfaction and wives' age have effect on, wives' marital satisfaction. And husbands' marital satisfaction have meaningful effect on wives. Husbands' marital satisfaction effect more on wives' satisfaction that, her satisfaction does on husbands'.;본 연구는 전업주부와 그 남편들을 대상으로 하여, 부부간의 결혼만족도 수준을 비교하였고, 전업주부의 결혼만족도에 유의미한 상관관계를 갖는 남편과 아내의 제 변인에 대해 살펴보았으며 마지막으로 아내의 결혼만족도에 대해 남편의 직업만족도와 결혼만족도가 미치는 영향을 알아보았다. 본 연구의 연구 대상자는 서울과 수도권 지역에 거주하는 157쌍의 부부로 학력과 연령, 직업유형이 대체로 다양하게 분포되었으며, 남편의 수입은 평균이 약 185만원 정도로 비교적 경제적으로 안정된 집단이었다. 수집된 자료를 바탕으로 빈도분석, 신뢰도 검증, 상관관계분석, paired t-test, 일원변량분석, 중다회귀분석을 실시하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 첫째, 남편과 아내의 결혼만족도의 평균값을 비교한 결과 모든 척도의 총점이 아내보다 남편이 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 아내의 사회인구학적 특성은 아내의 결혼만족도와 유의한 상관관계를 보이지 않았다. 아내의 결혼만족도와 유의미한 상관관계를 보이는 아내의 요인은 아내의 결혼갈등, 기혼여성의 취업에 대한 아내의 태도 등으로 나타났다. 즉 아내가 지각하는 결혼생활 내 갈등이 적을수록 아내의 결혼만족도는 높게 나타나고 결혼만족도가 낮은 아내일수록 기혼여성의 취업에 대해 찬성하는 의견을 보이는 것으로 나타나고 있다. 셋째, 남편의 사회인구학적 특성 중 남편의 연령과 직종이 아내의 결혼만족도에 유의한 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 나타나고 있다. 즉 남편의 연령이 어릴수록, 전문직에 종사할수록 남편과 아내의 결혼만족도가 높게 나타났다. 남편의 사회인구학적 특성을 제외한 요인 중 아내의 결혼만족도와 유의미한 상관관계를 보이는 남편의 요인은 남편의 결혼만족도, 남편의 결혼갈등, 남편의 직업만족도, 남편의 결혼-직장병행 갈등 (1) (2) 등으로 나타났다. 이러한 현상은 '배우자간 역할전이'로 설명할 수 있으며, 한 배우자가 자신의 역할에 만족(또는 불만족)할 때, 이러한 만족(또는 불만족)상태는 다른 배우자의 역할 만족(또는 불만족)에 영향을 미치는 것으로 생각할 수 있다. 즉 남편이 결혼생활에 만족할수록 아내의 결혼만족도가 높게 나타나게 된다. 남편과 아내의 결혼만족도는 정적 상관관계가 매우 높게 나타나고 있으며, 남편의 직업만족도와 아내의 결혼만족도의 상관관계도 비교적 높게 나타나고 있다. 남편의 결혼갈등과 결혼-직장 범행 갈등은 아내의 결혼만족도와 부적 상관관계를 보이고 있다. 넷째, 남편은 교육을 많이 받을수록 직업만족도가 크고, 전문직에 종사할수록 직업만족도와 결혼만족도가 큰 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 아내의 결혼만족도에 대해 아내의 연령, 어린 자녀의 유무, 아내의 교육, 남편의 직업, 남편의 수입 요인을 통제한 후 중다회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 남편의 결혼만족도, 직업만족도, 아내의 연령이 아내의 결혼만족도에 유의한 영향을 주었다. 남편의 결혼만족도와 직업만족도 두 요인의 영향 가운데 남편의 결혼만족도가 아내의 결혼만족도에 미치는 영향력이 더 큰 것으로 나타나고 있었다. 이것은 남편과 아내의 결혼만족도와 유의미한 관계를 보이는 모든 요인들 중 남편의 결혼만족도와 아내의 결혼만족도간의 상관관계가 가장 크게 나타나고 있으며, 따라서 다른 어떤 전이보다도 남편과 아내의 결혼만족도간의 전이가 크게 나타나기 때문인 것으로 생각할 수 있다.
