은유적 image에 의한 자아의 표현 연구

Abstract

On account of the decline of traditional art, postwar art after 1945 developed various complex, abstruse trends mainly in the two major categories of art such as abstract and figurative art. Since the 1970; multiple trends appeared simultaneously and in the 1980s, many styles coexisted including various styles from the past, because of the destruction of absolute forms. Thus, the 1980's are signified as the age of pluralism. Specifically the art of the 1980's is called autobiographical art. The revival of the image is one of the characteristics of modern art and the distinctive attribute is that usually it is not direct descriptions by visual experience. Some images contain metaphorical messages understood by the artist's intuition and sensibility, requiring a total approach based on the social, cultural and historical background to which the artist belongs. Modern art pursues the concept of total art which includes all the matters of private life and situations in human life. Given this situation of modern art, I would rather accept various styles than choose one specific style. In the range of painting by the act of painting I want to come to the realization of my spiritual world and through painting I want to express my ego and create the meaning of reality. Thus, given the themes of myth and allegory, I choose Anselm kiefer, who described tradition and history metaphorically, Georgia O'keefe, who used the image in close-up, Donald Sultan, and Robert Mapplethorpe as reference artists, and study with comparison. This thesis studies specific aspects of content and form through the analysis of my art works. In the study of content, I put forth the meaning of art work as a medium of expression, its reflection of the world of the inner ego and its metaphorical expression. In the study of form, I explain the image of the close-up, expressireness of colors and medium. Finally, in showing my performance by analyzing my paintings, I would like to reflect upon myself and seek the means of future process of my works.;1945년 이후 전후 미술은 전통과의 단절로 인하여 전래에 없는 복잡하고 난해한 면을 가지고 구상과 추상의 두 흐름안에서 다양한 조류로 전개되었다. 1970년대를 기점으로 다원화된 경향들은 동시다발적으로 등장하였고 1980년대의 미술은 절대 양식의 붕괴로 과거의 모든 양식을 포함한 다양한 양식이 공존하는 다원주의로 불리워졌다. 특히, 1980년대의 미술은 자서전적 미술이라고 불리운다. 이미지의 부활은 현대미술의 다양한 특징중 하나이다. 여기서 두드러지게 발견되는 속성은 형태의 시각적 경험에 의한 직접적인 묘사가 아니라는 점이다. 어떤 이미지들은 감성과 직관에 의해서 이해되는 은유적 메세지를 담고 있는데 그것은 작가가 속한 사회, 문화 또는 역사적 배경등에 근거한 총체적 접근을 필요로 하고 있다. 현대의 미술은 개인적인 삶과 인간의 상황을 심리적으로 묘사하는 내용중심의 그림을 폭넓게 수용하며, 인간 삶에 보다 가까이 다가가기 위한 총체적인 미술을 지향하고 있다. 현대의 새로운 상황의 전개속에서 본인은 어떤 특정양식을 추구하기 보다는 다양한 양식을 모두 수용하는 자세를 취한다. 본인은 회화라는 영역안에서 그린다는 행위를 통하여 자아 내면의 정신적인 영역을 인식하고자 하며 회화를 통해서 자아를 표명하고 현실의 의미를 창조하고자 한다. 이에 신화와 알레고리를 통하여 전통과 역사를 은유적으로 표현하고 있는 안젤름 키퍼(Anselm Kiefer: 1945- )와 클로즈업(close-up)의 이미지를 사용하는 죠지아 오키프(Gorgia 0'keeffe: 1887∼1986), 도날드 썰탄(Danald Sultan: 1951- ) 그리고 로버트 메플트로프(Robert Mapplethorpe: 1946- )를 참고 작가로 선정하여 연구하였다. 본 논문은 작품 제작 연구로 내용과 형식의 특성연구를 통하여 자신의 작품 분석으로 구성되어 있다. 내용적 연구에서는 서술적 매체로서의 회화의 의미와 자아 내면세계의 반영 그리고 은유적인 표현에 대하여 연구하였고 방법적 연구에서는 클로즈업(close-up) 이미지와 반복적인 표현, 표현적인 색채와 재료에 대하여 연구하였다. 끝으로 본인 작품을 제시하여 분석함으로써 반성과 함께 앞으로의 나아갈 바를 모색하고자 하였다.
