컴퓨터 통신망 시뮬레이션을 위한 객체 지향 모델링

Abstract

효율적인 컴퓨터 통신망을 구축하기 위한 설계 또는 사용단계에서의 성능예측과 평가작업은 필수적이다. 이를 위해 시뮬레이션은 일반적으로 가장 많이 사용되는 방법이라고 할 수 있다. 그러나 통신망이 기술적으로 발달하여 그 사용범위가 커지고 복잡해질수록 시뮬레이션 모델 구축은 어려워진다. 따라서 기존의 통신망 모델링 방법들에 비해 대형의 복잡한 대상 시스템을 보다 체계적으로 모델링할 수 있도록 하는 새로운 방법의 필요성이 대두된다. 본 논문에서는 새로운 객체 지향 모델링 방법으로 VOOM(Various Object-Oriented Modeling)을 제안한다. VOOM은 시스템의 요소 뿐만 아니라 시스템 요소들 관계 및 그들로 이루어진 구조를 모두 서로 유형이 다른 프레임으로 정의하여 객체화시키고, 객체화된 시스템 요소 및 관계, 구조를 서로 연결하여 하나의 시스템을 구축하도록 한다. VOOM을 통해 모델링 작업이 단순화 및 체계화되고, 정의된 객체에 대응하는 시스템 요소에 대한 검증이 용이해지며, 모델의 유연성 및 재사용성이 확장되어질 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 VOOM을 사용하여 컴퓨터 통신망 시뮬레이션을 위한 모델링을 시도하고, 이를 위한 모델링 도구로 VOOMSim(VOOM Simulator) 시스템을 구축하여 그 결과를 제시하였다. VOOMSim은 요소 객체, 관계 객체, 구조 객체들을 저장하고 있는 모델베이스와 사용자가 정의한 모델을 시뮬레이션 모델로 만드는 시뮬레이션 모델 구축기로 이루어진다.;To predict and evaluate the performance of a computer network is prerequisite to the construction of an efficient network. Simulation is considered the most effective way to check the performance prior to the actual construction. But, the larger and more complex a computer network gets, the more difficult its simulation modeling becomes. This indicates that a more sophisticated computer network requires a further improved modeling method. This thesis suggests new object-oriented modeling method, VOOM(Various Object-Oriented Modeling). VOOM classifies system components, relationships of these components and system structures, defining them as independent objects. Then, one system is constructed by connecting the defined objects. VOOM makes modeling more simplified, system component easily validated, and model flexibility and reusability further extended. In this thesis, VOOM modeling approach for computer network simulation is presented and VOOMSim (VOOM Simulator) -the composition of model base and simulation model constructor- is implemented as a modeling tool based upon VOOM method.
