중학교 가정과 실습실 시설 및 운영 실태 조사연구

Abstract

본 연구는 중학교 가정과 실험·실습 목표를 달성하는데 바람직한 실습실의 조건을 정리하기 위한 한 방안으로, 서울시내 중학교 가정과 실습실의 시설 및 운영 실태를 조사 분석하여 문제점을 찾고 그 개선 방향을 제시하고자 한 것이다. 이를 위해서 1990년 2월부터 11월에 걸쳐서 문헌연구로 가정과의 시설·설비 기준 및 실험·실습 교육에 관련된 제반 사향을 조사 연구하고, 서울시내 중학교의 가정과 주임교사를 대상으로 질문지를 우송하여 회수된 81개교의 응답 결과를 조사 분석하였다. 가정과 실습실의 시설 현황은 시설면, 설비면과 그 확충 방안을, 실습실 운영·관리 실태는 실험·실습 운영면, 재정 관리면, 실습실 관리면을 중점으로 조사하였으며, 조사 결과는 빈도와 백분율을 사용하여 분석하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 가정과 실습실의 시설·설비 현황 각 학교는 가사실이나 조리실을 설치하고 있고, 그 외에 재봉실, 전산실, 예법실 등이 있으나 그 설치 상황이 저조하며, 학급수에 비례한 적정수의 실습실 확보가 이루어지지 않고 있다. 실습실의 면적은 대부분 문교부 시설 기준에 훨씬 미달되고, 시설·설비에 대한 평가는 전반적으로 매우 낮게 나타났다. 특히, 재봉 실습을 위한 시설 및 교구 설비 상황이 극히 부실하며, 시청각 기교재 설비는 거의 갖추지 못하고 있는 등 문제점이 많으나, 학교 재정상, 인식 부족 등 이유로 이에 대한 보완·확충이 어려운 실정이다. 2. 가정과 실습실의 운영 관리 실태 남녀공학교 중 남학생이 가정교과를 이수하는 학교도 다수 있다. 조리실습은 대부분 2시간 단위로 하며 단원별 실습은 비교적 충실히 하고 있으나, 실습실 사용은 매우 저조한 상황으로 그 요인은 시간 제약상, 예산 부족, 시설·설비 부족 순으로 나타났다. 실습 재료 구입은 서부에서 전담하는 편이고, 가정과 교사의 예산 집행 현황 파악이 부족하며, 실습비의 수준이 비현실적으로 낮은 점 등 재정 관리면에서 문제점을 나타내고 있다. 또한 가정과 교사는 실습실 관리에 대한 부담을 많이 갖고 있는데, 실습조교의 보조를 받지 못하고 있다. 이상의 결과에 대하여 다음과 같이 제언한다. ·학교의 학급수에 비례하여 적정수의 실습실을 확보하고, 가정과 특별교실 및 준비실의 기중수가 문교부 시설 기준형에 제시되도록 해야 한다. ·종래의 조리실·재봉실이라는 단순한 기능 위주의 실습실 명칭이나 설비보다는 남녀 학생이 다양한 실험·실습 내용을 익힐 수 있는 실습실로서 그 면모를 갖추도록 하며, 실습용구·시청각 학습자료 등 교구설비를 확충해 가야 할 것이다. 이를 위해 현 교과 과정의 분석, 현장에 대한 다각적인 검토, 인체공학적 연구 등을 통한 실습실에 관한 심층적 연구가 시급히 이루어지도록 하며, 이에 대한 정책적 지원이 반드시 이루어져야 할 것이다. ·가정과 실험·실습비 예산 책정이 현실화 되어야 한다. ·실습조교의 가정과에 대한 업무보조가 이루어져야 할 것이다. ·실습실 활용을 통하여 실험·실습 교육에 충실을 기하려는 가정과 교사의 적극적인 자세가 요망된다.;The purpose of this study is to inspect and analyse the realities of the training facilities of the department of Home Economics of junior high school as well as its operational state, then suggest improvement directions and theorize due conditions of the training facilities desirable to attain the set targets of experiment and practice. For such a purpose a literary research into all the matters related t o the facilities, the standards of facilities & accomodations, and experiments and practices was performed from Feb., 1990 to Nov., 1990, and also the questionnaires were distributed t o the teachers in charge of the department of home economics in 81 junior high schools in the Seoul area by mail, and collected, then inspected and analytically studied on. The contents of the questionnaire included the aspect of facilities and that of accomdations indicating the state of facilities and the operational aspect of experiment, exercise and finance, and results from inspection were analysed by the percentage of fequency . Results from the study are as follows: 1. The realities of the facilities and accomdations of the Dept. of Home Economics. Each school is equipped at least with a room of household affairs and a kitchen as well as a sewing room, a computer room, and a manners room, however the state of its facilities is at the low level and the proper securement of practice or experiment rooms proportional to the number of classes is not well done. The width of the exercise room does not reach the standard of facilities issued by the Ministry of Education mostly, and the evaluation on facilities and accomadations appears generally to be very low. In particular, facilities for sewing practice and the state of teaching instrumental facilities are extremely unsatisfactory, and there are many a problem such as almost no equipping of audiovisual materials and so on, and however, because of reasons such as short finance, the lack of recognition etc., supplementation and extension for such lacking seem to be very difficult. 2 . The realities of operation and management over the practice rooms of the Dept. of Home Economics. There are a considerable number of schools where male students take the course of home economics. The time spent in cooking exercise by students is usually 2 hrs. and the practice by each unit respectively is well performed, however the usage of the practice room being seldom, and the reasons for it are the limitation of time, short budget, the lack of facilities & accomodations in the order. In the aspect of the management of finance, the purchase of exercise materials is generally taken by the general affairs section wholly, the grasping of the actual state of the budget execution of 'home economics' teachers lacks, and there are many a problem such as the level of practice expense to be impractically low, etc.. In the aspect of the management of the exercise room, teachers have heavy duties while they do not receive the help of assistant practice instructors. In the regard of findings so far, following suggestions are made : The proper number of practice rooms proportional t o the number of classes should be secured and the standard in the number of special rooms and preparatory rooms for the department of home economics should be detailed on the Facilities-Standardization Act of the Ministry of Education. Also, rather than the facilities with the title of an 'practice room' emphasizing simply the functions as a traditional cooking or sewing room, exercise rooms with teaching equipments such as practicing tools & instruments, audiovisual materials, etc. should be proceeded to be secured and supplemented. For such matters. new curriculums should be analysed, and diversified examination on the spot, profound study on human engineering and practice rooms should be performed urgently with political supports being supplied. The determination of the budget of experiments and practices related t o the Dept. of Home Economics should be realised effectively, and there should be established a certain arrangement of the system that the assistant exercise instructors dispatched to schools are supposed t o help or take charge of the management duty work of the Department of Home Economics. In addition to that, there needs also the positive posture of home economics teachers to be sincere and faithful to their duty work of experiments and practices through the usage of the practice room.
