유아의 읽기, 쓰기 능력에 대한 어머니의 지각

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the level of mother's perceptions for their children's reading and writing abilities. Concrete questions for this study are as follows : 1. Does the level of mother's perceptions show significant differences to their children's reading and writing abilities? 2. How is the level of mother's perceptions for their children's reading and writing abilities according to their children's sexual and age difference, to the level of mother's education and employment, to the number of kids? For this purpose, Seoul located 1 kindergarten and 2 preschools were selected and 90 preschoolers (male and female children were 15 persons from each : age range was 3, 4, 5) were selected and their mothers too. The study instruments for this research based on the test of Hiebert & Adams (1987) to know the level of mother's perceptions for their children's reading and writing abilities but language differences induced to use domestic preexamined data. Te method of this study was the interview with questionaire for children and other questionaire to predict their children's reading and writing abilities; for their mothers. Gathered data were analyzed by averages. For the significance test according to variances, t-test and one way-Anova were used. Results of this study were as follow : 1. There way significant overestimations between mother's perceptions; and their children's reading and writing abilities for 5 questionaire. (letter naming, Auditory discrimination, preprimer level sight word, storybook orientation, writing ; excluded interest) 2. There was significant differences in mother's interest and children's reading according to children's sexual difference. 3. Mother's perceptions and their children's reading and writing abilities showed significant differences according to children's age. (For 5 items : excluded interest) 4. Mother's perceptions and children's reading and writing ability showed significant differences on mother's Auditory discrimination item according to mother's employment. 5. The level of mother's perceptions and children's reading and writing abilites showed significant differences on children's storybook orientation items according to the level of mother's education. 6. Mother's pereeptions and children's reading and writing abilities, reveled no important differences for all the items according to the number of kids.;본 연구는 아동의 읽기·쓰기 능력과 그에 대한 어머니의 지각을 알아보고자 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 구체척인 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 1. 아동의 읽기·쓰기 능력과 어머니의 지각 정도에는 차이가 있는가? 2. 아동의 읽기·쓰기 능력과 어머니의 지각 정도는 가정환경 변인에 따라 차이가 있는가? 2-1. 아동의 성별에 따라 차이가 있는가? 2-2. 아동의 연령에 따라 차이가 있는가? 2-3. 어머니의 취업유무에 따라 차이가 있는가? 2-4. 어머니의 학력수준에 따라 차이가 있는가? 2-5. 자녀수에 따라 차이가 있는가? 본 연구는 서울시내 소재의 2개 어린이집과 1개 유치원에 다니고 있는 만 3, 4, 5세 남녀유아 각 15명씩과 그의 어머니를 대상으로 실시하였다. 연구 도구는 Hiebert와 Adams(1987)가 유아의 읽기·쓰기 능력에 대한 부모의 지각 정도를 알기 위해 사용한 검사를 기초로 하되 언어적인 차이로 사용이 어려운 검사는 우리나라 유아를 대상으로 한 기존의 연구된 문항을 이용하였다. 연구 방법은 아동에게는 검사 도구 및 반응표를 이용하여 개별 면접을 실시하고 어머니에게는 아동의 읽기·쓰기 능력을 예측하도록 설계 된 질문지를 통하여 면접을 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS에 의해 전산 처리하였다. 각 검사는 하위 문항별 평균치를 사용한 후 t검증과 일원변량분석을 사용하여 변인별 유의도를 검증하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 아동의 읽기·쓰기 능력과 어머니의 지각 사이에는 흥미도를 제외한 5개 항목 (자음 읽기, 청각 변별력 검사, 쉬운 단어 읽기, 읽기 이해, 쓰기)에서 의미있는 과대 평가의 형태로 나타났다. 2. 아동의 읽기·쓰기 능력과 어머니의 지각 정도는 아동 성별에 따라 어머니의 흥미도와 아동의 읽기 이해 항목에서 의미있는 차이가 있었다. 3. 아동의 읽기·쓰기 능력과 어머니의 지각 정도는 아동의 연령에 따라 흥미도를 제외한 5개 항목(자음읽기, 청각변별력검사, 쉬운단어읽기, 읽기 이해, 쓰기)에서 의미있는 차이가 있었다. 4. 아동의 읽기·쓰기 능력과 어머니의 지각 정도는 어머니의 취업 유무에 따라 어머니의 청각 변별력 검사에서만 의미있는 차이가 있었다. 5. 아동의 읽기·쓰기 능력과 어머니의 지각 정도는 어머니의 학력 수준에 따라 아동의 읽기 이해 항목에서만 의미있는 차이가 있었다. 6. 아동의 읽기·쓰기 능력과 어머니의 지각 정도는 자녀 수에 따라 모든 항목에서 의미있는 차이가 없었다.
