부정사 용법에 관한 연구

Abstract

영어학습현장에서 다각도로 활용되고 있는 부정사는 수, 인칭, 법등 형태상의 제한을 받지않는 비한정동사로서, 그 사용법이 간단한 듯하지만 용법 및 기능을 좀 더 자세히 고찰해보면 복잡하고 다양하다고 할 수 있다. 부정사는 to없는 원형부정사와 동사의 원형앞에 to를 수반하는 To-부정사가 있으며 원형부정사에 비해 to-부정사가 오늘날 영어학습 현장에서 중요하게 다루어지고 있다. 이 논문에서는 첫째, 부정사의 여러가지 용법 및 기능에 대해 전반적으로 살펴봄으로써 실제 학습현장에서 부정사에 대한 학습지도에 만전을 기하고자 했다. 둘째, 원형부정사보다는 to-부정사의 용법에 중점을 두어 살펴보고 그 예문 또한 고등학교 현행교과서에 나타난 to-부정사위주로 발췌하여 제시함으로써 to-부정사에 대한 학습지도가 좀 더 체계적으로 이루어 질 수 있도록 했다. 셋째, 학습자들이 실제적으로 일부 중요한 부정사구문에 대해서 얼마나 이해하고 있는지를 조사, 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 학습자들은 유사한 문형의 구문인데도 많이 다루어지지 않은 구문에 대해 적응능력이 부족했다. 2. 학습자들은 간단한 규칙이 적용되는 구문에서는 이해도가 높았으며, 영어의 부정사구문 자체내의 규칙적용의 복잡성과, 영어와 우리말의 표현방법상의 차이가 내포된 구문에서는 이해도가 낮았다.;The infinitive is a non-finite verb that is not restricted to number, person or mood. It is very evident in many sorts of English textbooks. The study of the infinitive is very essential because its form seems to be simple but its use and function are most complicated and varied when we study it in detail. The infinitive originated in a noun of notion. But already in earliest English it had acquired much of a verb force and could be made from any verb in the language. In Old English, like Modern English, there existed a root infinitive and an infinitive preceded by the word "to". The to-infinitive is very frequently used today compared with the root infinitive. The root infinitive has only verbal function whereas the to-infinitive has nominal, adjectival and adverbial as we1l as verbal function. In this study, firstly I have dealt with its various uses and functions about the to-infinitive in order to teach learners more effectively. Secondly, 1 studied the to-infinitive more precisely than the root infinitive and referred to the examples for the to-infinitive in High School English textbooks so as to teach learners more systematically. Thirdly, I tested learners to know how well they understand some important sentence structures.
