미국 BSCS 녹판 제6판에 대한 분석적 연구

Abstract

BSCS 생물학은 한국을 포함한 여러 나라의 생물교육에 많은 영향을 미치고 있으며, BSCS 생물 교과서의 분석적 연구는 생물 교육 개선에 가치가 있다. 본 연구는 BSCS 생물학 녹판 제6판의 내용을 분석하고, 구판 (1,2,3,4,5판)과 비교 분석하였으며, 이를 한국 고등학교 생물 교과서와도 비교 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. BSCS 녹판 구판들이 5편 25장으로 되어 왔으나. 녹판 6판은 6편 20장으로 구성되어 있다. 2. 녹판 6판의 주제는 "생물과 환경"이며 수준은 "개체"와 "생물권", 대상생물로는 "동물"을 강조하여 생태학적인 면이 강하다. 3. 구판들과 비교하면, 6판은 주제면에서 "다양성과 단일성" "유전적 연속성"과 "구조와 기능"이 보강되었으며, 수준면에서는 "개체"가 보강되었다. 4. 녹판 6판은 구판들에 비해 사진과 그림이 많이 포함되어, 학생들의 흥미 유발 및 이해에 도움이 되고 있다. 5. 한국 고등학교 생물 교과서는 주제가 "유전적 연속성" 이며, 수준으로는 "개체"가 강조되어 있으며, 특히 유전적인 면을 강조하고 있다.;The BSCS biology has influenced in biology education of various countries including Korea. The analystical survey of the BSCS textbooks is worthwhile to innovate biology education. The present study was undertaken in an attempt to analyze the 6th edition of the BSCS Biology Green Version and to compare with the older ones (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th) and with Korean High School Biology textbooks. The results are as follows: 1. The latest(6th) edition of the BSCS biology Green Version is composed of 6 sections and 20 chapters whereas the older ones, 5 sections and 25 chapters. 2. The theme of the 6th edition covers mainly "organism & environment" and the level, "biosphere" and "individual", and the organism, "animal", especially stressing ecological aspect. 3. Comparing with the older editions, the 6th one reinforces "diversity & unity", "genetic continuity" and "structure & function'' in the theme, and "individual", in the level. 4. The 6th edition includes much more pictures and photos than the older ones so that the students are induced to have an in interest and understand easily. 5. Korean High School biology textbooks concentrate on "genetic continuity" in the theme and "individual" in the level, and the considerable strsss is paid on the molecular level in the current editions, especially strengthening genetic aspect.
