Tapestry의 색채표현에 관한 연구

Abstract

현대 조형예술의 한 분야인 섬유예술은 색채를 표현수단으로 사용하므로서 작가의 체험과 잠재적 표현능력을 자유분방하게 창출해내고 있다. 특히 타피스트리에 있어 색채는 자기의 주관적 미의식을 표현하기에 적절한 조형요소중의 하나이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 색이 작가의 의사를 효과적이고 심오하게 소통시켜주는 수단임을 인식하고 효과적인 색채혼합에 의한 조형효과를 추구하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이론적 배경으로는 예술로서 색채가 어떻게 작용하는가를 문헌을 통해 고찰하고 화면을 빛의 효과와 색점(色点)으로 표현한 인상주의·신인상주의 회화와 타피스트리의 색채표현을 '시각적 색채혼합의 효과'라는 것에 촛점을 맞추어 연구하였다. 작품제작에 있어서는 인간의 내면세계에 잠재해있는 아름다운 심상의 이미지와 정신적 가치를 다양한 색채의 혼합으로써 표현하였으며, 빛에 의한 색채의 효과를 높이기 위하여 재료 자체에 광택이 있는 인견사를 사용하였다. 기법으로는 전통적인 타피스트리 기법을 기본으로 제작하였으며 작품의 특성에 따라 슬릿(Slit)기법을 도입하였다. 그리고 각각의 작품들은 크기가 서로다른 piece들을 평면상에 구성하였고 그 위에 또다른 작은 piece들의 조립으로 평면상의 단조로움에서 탈피하여 부조적 형태의 공간감을 나타내고자 하였다. 작품제작의 결과, 다양한 색사(色絲)에 의한 색채혼합과 재료·piece조립에 따른 빛의 효과는 부분적으로 색채의 조화를 이루어 작품의 깊이를 더해 주었으나 복잡한 혼색의 사용은 본래의 선명한 색감을 잃어버리고 탁한 색감을 나타내 주기도 하였다. 이와같은 색채에 의한 조형적 추구는 시각을 통해 작용하며 감정의 상태를 표현하는 시각예술인 만큼 섬유예술에 있어서 시각적 효과에 대한 연구는 체계적으로 이루어져야겠으며 이러한 연구가 활발해질때 비로소 섬유예술이 대중에게 쉽게 접근하는 예술로 인정받게 될것이다.;Fiber arts as a field of formative arts use the color as means of aesthetical expression to create liberally full expressions of Artists' experiences and potential. In this study, by recognizing that the color becomes an favorable mediator for Artists' successful communication, the formative binding from efficient color mixing were pursued. And a theoretical background for this study stands upon a basis of investigations on books over pictures of the impressionist and neo-impressionists who expressed by color-points canvas reflected by light and scopes of color applications in arts, and also color expressional ways in tapestry were researched with an eye to the work especially, focusing to the point, 'optical effects of color mixing. For the work, it was produced through plain techniques which was applied to lustrous rayon yarns for the increasement to color effects, and a formative space perception was pursued in it by being formulated into the relief form taken from method of piece by piece composition. In this work I expressed the human spiritual values through various ways of color mixing. As a result of color mixing, while making harmony partially the color mixing by color yarns, produced impure color senses and decrease the light-effect applications of complex compound colors. To sum up, as long as the formative pursuit by means of colors is the visual art expressing the emotional condition through the visual effect and systematical study about the fiber-mediated visual effect is conducted actively, the fiber art comes to be more easily appealed to the mass.
