유아교육 관계 잡지에 나타난 컴퓨터교육기사 분석

Abstract

외국, 특히 미국에서의 유아를 위한 컴퓨터교육에 대한 경향을 살피기 위하여 세 종류의 교육잡지, 즉 'Childhood Education,' 'Young Children,' 'Early Child Develpment and Care ' 에 나타난 컴퓨터관계 기사를 분석하였다. 이를 위하여 다섯가지 연구문제를 설정하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 유아 컴퓨터교육의 필요성에 대한 기사의 경향 세 잡지가 초기에는 접근하는 입장에서 약간의 견해 차이가 있었으나, 전체적으로는 컴퓨터를 유아 환경의 일부로, 또 미래생활의 준비를 위해 탐구하고 경험해보도록 하기 위해 필요하다고 하였다. 2. 컴퓨터 교육이 유아에게 미치는 영향에 대한 기사의 경향 컴퓨터 사용으로 유아의 사회적 상호작용과 친사회적 행동, 그리고 자신감과 자기존중의 증가로 사회ㆍ정서발달이 도모되었다. 또한 듣기ㆍ말하기ㆍ읽기ㆍ쓰기에 영향을 미쳐 유아의 언어발달이 증진되었으며, 인지발달중 특히 수학과 문제해결 능력이 증진되었다고 하였다. 그리고 컴퓨터의 고가와 사용방법, 프로그램의 부족 등이 문제점으로 지적되었다. 'Young Children'과 'Early Child Dev. & Care' 는 이 분야의 기사를 많이 게재하였다. 3. 교육에서의 컴퓨터 활용에 대한 기사의 경향 세 잡지 모두 컴퓨터의 사용을 교육적인 면과 행정적인 면으로 나누어 다루었다. 컴퓨터가 교육적으로 활용될 때는 단순한 교수 도구나 교사의 역할로 사용되었으며, 행정적으로는 기록 보존, 프린트, 등의 기능이 사용되었다. 4. 컴퓨터교육의 교수전략에 대한 기사의 경향 기능과 가격 조사후 적합한 하드웨어를 선택하며, 유아에게는 문제 해결중심의 프로그램이 적당하고, 교실 내에서 컴퓨터는 자유선택활동의 한 영역으로 설치되나 프로그램에 따라 약간의 차이는 있을 수 있다고 하였다. 컴퓨터교육에 적합한 유아의 연령에 대해서는 구체적 조작기를 중심으로 의견 차이가 있었다. 세 잡지중 특히 'Childhood Education'은 이 분야에 해당하는 방법론적인 기사를 많이 실었다. 5. 컴퓨터 도입에 따른 교사교육에 대한 기사의 경향 'Young Children'에서는 새로운 교수매체인 컴퓨터 도입을 위해 교사에게 컴퓨터교육이 필요하지만 유아교육이라는 전문분야와 분리되지 않도록 그 내용을 설정하도록 하였다.;This study is of analysis of articles, concerned with computer education appeared in these three kinds of magazine: 'Childhood Education,' 'Young Children,' 'Early Child Development and Care.' That is, collected articles have been reviewed in the light of a research for certain characteristic trend in the computer education for young children currently practiced in foreign countries, especially in America. Following five subjects are those chosen for it, and results are also as follows: Tendency in articles 1 : Necessity of computer Education in early childhood In general aspect, the three kinds of magazine is in accord with each other in their views for the necessity of it for children's quests, experiences and further preparations for the future regarding the computer as a part of children's environments, through there were some differences in their views of approach in initial stages. Tendency in articles 2 : Impact upon early children of computer education Children's social interactions, pro-social behaviors and also socio-emotional developments due to the increasing self-confidence and self-esteem have been promoted through the application of the computer, and they also say that computer education showed an impact upon children's hearing, speaking, reading and writing, and which means the advancement in language development. And especially, the ability in mathematics and problem-solving could be increased by it during the cognitive development. The High in price of a computer hardware and the want of applicational methods and that of resourceful programs were pointed out as problems. 'Young Children'. and 'Early Child Dev. and Care' have carried this field of considerably many articles. Tendency in articles 3: Computer application into education All the three kinds of magazine has dealt with an issue of computer application, dividing it into two aspects: Those of the educational and of the administrative. Being educationally used, it has been done as having role of simple educational tool or teacher, and if administratively, it has been used with the function of memory, preserving and printing etc. Tendency in articles 4 : Computer education strategy Appropriate hardware they say, should be chosen after research processes related to their function and price have been done, including programs having its importance in the effect in problem-solving educational aim for young children, and that, in a classroom, the computer could be furnished as a region of free choice activity only except for the possibility of some extent of differences in its adaptation. For the age of children appropriate for computer education, they show some different view around the concrete operation as the central. 'Child Education' among the three kind of magazine has inserted more methodological articles involved in this field than any other else. Tendency in articles 5 : Need for the education to teachers according to an introduction of the computer. Computer education to teachers, 'Young children' suggests, are needed for an introduction of the computer as a new educational medium, but the contents of it should be selected in such a way not to be separated from the special branch of early childhood education.
