국민학교 소설교재 교육의 실태와 지도 개선 방향

Abstract

본 연구는 현재 이루어지고 있는 소설 교재 교육의 실태를 파악해서 문제점을 추출하여 분석하고 이에 따른 지도 개선 방향을 모색하고자 하는 것이다. 이러한 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여 먼저 소설 교육의 중요성과 동화와의 개념 구분을 명확히 밝히고, 소설 교육의 실태를 이론상 및 실제상의 양 측면으로 나누어 분석하였다. 이론적인 면으로는 문학 관련 국어과 교육과정, 교사용 지도서, 교과서 소설 교재를 중심으로 검토하였고, 실제적인 면으로는 현장에서 이루어지고 있는 실태를 파악하기 위해 설문을 작성하여 배분, 수합하였다. 위의 연구 결과를 간단히 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 문학 영역 교육 과정은 초·중·고를 총 망라하는 문학교육의 기본 목표 아래, 각 학교급별, 학년 간의 체계적인 목표가 설정되어야 한다. 또 일반 목표나 지도 목표 및 내용이 반복되지 않아야하며, 지도 방향이 더 구체적으로 제시되어야 한다. 그리고 현장에서 다루어지고 있는 일반적인 교육 내용보다 낮은 수준으로 짜여져 있는 소설 교재 관련 지도 목표 및 내용이 재검토되어야 한다. 2. 교사용 지도서는 전문적인 소설 및 문학 이론을 전해 주고, 지도 방법의 자상한 안내를 해 주어야 하기 때문에, 현행 4차 교육과정에 따른 교사용 지도서는 내용면에 있어 더 신중하고 정확하게 구성되어야 한다. 3. 교과서의 소설 교재는 주제, 언어, 배경 등의 측면에서 다양한 경험을 하도록 짜여져야 하고, 중심 생각을 쉽게 찾을 수 있는 내용이어야 한다. 또한 아동들의 가슴이 깊은 감동을 주는 아름다운 재미있는 글이어야 한다. 그리고 현 교과서의 소설 교재는 대부분 절정에서 끝나는 작품이 많은데, 결말까지 있는 완전한 구성의 작품도 실려야 하며, 8편의 소설 교재 중 외국 작품과 국내 작품의 수가 같은데, 국어과 교재의 입장에서 국내 작품이 더 많이 실려야 하겠다. 또 번안이나 개작은 원작의 갈등을 손상시키지 않으면서 새로운 감동을 보태줄 수 있도록 조심스럽게 다루어져야 한다. 4. 교사들은, 이제까지 국어과 교육과정에서 '언어 사용 능력'이란 국어 영역으로 소홀히 다루어졌던 '문학 영역'에 대한 관심을 새롭게 해야 한다. 그리고 국어과 교육 과정에 대한 연구는 물론, 아동 문학에 깊은 관심을 갖고, 아동에 다양한 참고 작품 감상의 기회를 제공해 주어야 할 것이다. 5. 아동들은 줄거리 파악하기, 소설에서 말하는 이와 작자를 구별하기, 창의적인 상상력, 소설의 구성 단계에서 절정 부분의 묘미를 맛보기 등에 대한 학습이 매우 미약하므로 이 부분에 대한 지도가 강화되어야 하겠다. 6. 소설 및 문학 교재 전반에 관한 교사의 보조 참고서가 제공되어야 한다. 그리고 그 안에서 아동의 소년 소설 필독 도서 목록 및 전문적인 문학 이론적 지식, 소설 교재 만의 전문화된 일반지도 모형을 교사에게 제시하여야 한다.;In the material civilization society, which is becoming mechanization, there is a global consensus that we should re-cover the genuine humanity. We also have recognized that people are as cold as ice in their hearts, since in 1960s when the economic development was begun. From the third curiculum of Korean language, importance of the literary education begun to raise for the true cultivation of character. According to the third general goal, that is "..... to think honestly, to judge independently and to grow good nature ...." it means good nature education. Later, the present course of Korean language education is estublished literary area to emphasize literary education. Emphasizing the importance of literary education, novel education is more important than any other literary genre. Because the content of novel is closely related to the everyday life, and make an offer the way to solve the problem which we meet, with the right mind. So, the novel education must be accomplished carefully. This paper extract the points by the investigation of actual condition which is being conducted, and will find a improvement of guidance course of the novel education. After all the object of study shall be to help education for pupils who switch from a fairy tale to a novel. This paper also will provide valuable aid the direction of novel education which must be improved. This paper analyzed the situation of novel education theoretically and practically to achive the object of study. In the theoretical aspect, this paper examined the theory of novel guidance based the textbook reffering to novel education, and found an answer to a problem must be improved. In the practical aspect, this paper surveyes the realities of novel education by the question. This investigation was made a survey of the sixth pupils of elementary school and teachers who teaches the forth, fifth, sixth pupils of elementary school, within the jurisdiction of Seoul ward office of education. The result of study is as follows; 1. The object of literary education must sublate the anticommunist education with intention or the subject aimed at the rural life, and must consist of the right and truthful human emotion. 2. The guide book for teacher must be developed a system of composition and must include the correct literary theory, and must be suggested a concrete guide method. 3. A Korean reader is mentioned more modern novel having a Korean mood. 4. The selected work must have the elaborate composition and an essential element of novel. 5. The content of textbook is closely related to the mind of childrens and must evoke their sympathy. 6. The book list that every child should read must be suggested 7. The special guide model for the novel education must be suggested. 8. The impressions of a book must use suitably. To write the impressions of a book by force make lose the desire of reading. 9. Must have sufficient time to make a novel into a drama. 10. Must be provided a supplement of guide book on the literary teaching materials including a novel. The teacher must study the way about the teaching method.
