한국과 일본 중학교 과학교과서 중 물리영역에 대한 비교 연구

Abstract

1984 ∼ 1986년 3년간 4차 교육 과정에 의해 개편된 현행 한국 중학교 과학 교과서 3권과 1985년 일부 개정된 일본 중학교 과학교과서 "改訂 中學 理科" 4권과 "改訂 新しい 科學" 4권을 비교·분석·검토하여 보았다. 1. 한국 교과서는 학년별로 각 한 권씩 나뉘어져 있으나 일본 교과서는 1분야 물리·화학, 2분야 생물·지구 과학으로 구분되어 각 분야별로 상·하권으로 되어 있다. 2. 한국 교과서의 글자수를 기준으로 하여 일본 교과서와 비교하면, 한국 교과서가 「中學 理科」의 약 2배, 「新しい 科學」의 약 1.7배 글자수가 많다. 3. 한국 교과서의 물리 영역의 실험 수는 일본 교과서의 실험(실습, 자유연구, 나의 연구, 실험을 해야 하는 토의) 수보다 약간 적었다. 4. 한국 교과서의 실험이 일본 교과서의 것보다 더 탐구 실험적이었으며, 양쪽 모두 실생활에서 쉽게 구할 수 있고 일반적으로 널리 사용되는 실용적인 기구와 재료들을 많이 사용했다. 5. 일본 교과서 물리 영역의 실험 횟수는 학년이 올라 갈수록 증가함에 비하여 한국 3학년의 경우 1,2학년의 절반 정도 밖에 되지 않아 한국 교과서의 실험 횟수는 학년이 올라갈수록 감소하고 있다. 6. 한국 교과서의 실험 수준은 난이도가 평이하여 보통 수준의 학생들에게 적합하였으나, 일본 교과서의 실험은 실험, 실습, 자유연구, 나의 연구 등으로 개인차에 따라 난이도가 다른 실험의 내용을 실었다. 7. 한국 교과서의 내용이나 일본 교과서의 내용 모두 전기와 힘, 운동 분야에 큰 비중을 두었다. 8. 한국 교과서의 글자수가 일본 교과서보다 많은데도 그림·사진의 수는 훨씬 적었고, 일본 교과서와 한국 교과서에서 같거나 비슷한 그림·사진이 많았다. 같은 내용을 설명하는 그림·사진이 「中學 理科」와 「新しい 科學」에서 서로 다른 것과 좋은 대조를 이루고 있다.;The contents of recent Korean Science textbooks (1986) and two kinds of Japan Science textbook published in 1985, at the level of each grade of middle school. The results are as follows: 1. Japanese science textbooks consist of two parts: part 1 deals with physics and chemistry, and part 2, biology and earth science. 2. Analyzing the Physics parts both Korean and Japanese textbooks emphasize the basic concepts and the general principles, especially on the part of electricity. 3. Korean textbooks have a smaller number of experiments than Japanese ones. 4. The experiments in Japanese textbooks are more anthoritarion-oriented than in Korean ones. 5. Korean textbooks have a fewer items of experiment apparatuses than Japanese ones. 6. Both Korean and japanese experiment apparatuses are mostly practical, economical and widly-used ones. 7. It is noticeable that the experiment in Korean textbooks put more stress on the inquiry and discovery science than that of Japanese.
