5세 유아의 읽기 교수방법에 관한 일연구

Abstract

1. 硏究의 意義 본 연구는 유아의 읽기 준비에 관한 교육 방법을 탐색하고자 한 것이다. 현재 대부분의 유치원에서 실시하고 있는 읽기 기초 기능 교수 방법 중 어느 교수 방법이 학습의 효과를 높일 수 있는지 규명하고자 시도 하였다. 본 연구는 유아의 읽기 준비 프로그램 운영의 자료와 교수 방법 개선을 위한 기초 자료를 얻고자 하는데 그 의의가 있다. 2. 硏究의 目的 본 연구는 S. Warner의 읽기 교수 방법이 5세 유아들의 읽기 학습에 나타나는 효과를 검증하려는 것이다. 이를 위하여 Warner의 교수 방법을 S유치원 5세 유아들에게 적용 실시하였다. 그리고 읽기 기초 기능을 실시하고 있는 N유치원과 비교하여 읽기학습의 효과를 알아보도록 했다. 이 연구는 다음과 같은 가설을 검증하고자 하였다. 가설: Warner의 교수 방법을 적용한 유치원 유아가 단어 읽기능력의 증가에 있어서 읽기 기초 기능을 실시하고 있는 유치원 유아보다 높은 학습 효과를 나타낼 것이다. 3. 硏究 節次 본 연구의 대상은 설립기관, 학급수, 유아의 연령, 유아의 지능 등이 같은점을 고려하여 실험집단(40명)과 통제집단(40명)으로 나누었다. 실험집단은 Warner의 읽기 교수 방법을 통제집단은 읽기 기초 기능의 방법을 각 각 적용 시켰다. 연구 대상 유아들에게 가설을 검증하기 위하여 문교부 편찬 그림동화 자료2집(10권)에서 뽑은 단어 (Key vocabulary) 166개를 선정 하였다. 또한 각 유치원이름을 포함하여 두 단어를 첨가하여 168개의 단어 목록을 작성하였다. 연구 대상 유아에게 사전, 사후 검사를 실시하였다. 김재은저 유아지능검사B형으로 사전검사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료들은 기본적인 통계 처리를 한 다음 두 집만의 평균간의 차이의 유의도를 검증하기 위하여 x^(2)검증을 하였다. 4. 硏究의 結果 A. 단어 능력은 Warner의 읽기 교수 방법을 적용한 유치원 유아가 단어 읽기 증가에 있어서 읽기 기초 기능을 실시하고 있는 유치원 유아 보다 유의있게 높은 학습 효과를 나타내었다 (P<.05) B. 단어종류 및 내용은 이름단어 (자기이름, 친구이름, 가족, 유치원의 순서로 나타남), TV만화, 영화 제목 및 등장만물. 동물이름, 식물이름, 교통기관, 색깔명, 전쟁과 관련된 단어, 바다 물고기명, 운동과 관련된 단어, 소리, 신체, 한가지 이상의 뜻을 가진 단어, 곤충, 천체, 기타의 순서로 확대 되어 나타났다.;Ⅰ. Outline of the Research This research was designed to explicate a teaching method for child's prereading skills. The researcher, therefore, attempted to examine what would be more effective to enhance the learning effectiveness between the function teaching method of reading currently practiced here in Korea and the Sylvia Ashton-Warner's prereading skills. Efforts were also made in this thesis to gather basic data for programming for child's preparedness of reading and for developing teaching method. Ⅱ. The Purpose of the Research The objective of this research was to verify the effectiveness of the teaching method practiced by Warner's in the New Zealand kindergarten classes, and by comparing it with the effectiveness obtained in the S kindergarten in Seoul. Hypothesis 1 : In improving the major vocabulary reading, a higher learning effectiveness shall be expected in kinder-garten children who were applied Warner's teaching method rather than those who were taught the basic function of reading. Ⅲ. The Process of the Research The subjects of this experiment (or study) were divided into two, experimental group(40) and control group (40) in consideration of the institution, number of classes, teacher's experience, and environmental conditions of the institution. The children belonging to experimental group were applied Warner's teaching method of reading, those in control group the basic function of reading. In order to examine the hypothesis, 166 key vocabularies selected from picture story book series two (10 volumes) published by the Ministry of Education by which a list of 168 vocabularies plus names of two kindergartens. Testing was done according to B type of child I.Q. test written by Kim, Jae Eun. The collected informations were presented to after a basic statical investigation, to-x^(2) to investigate the differences between the two group. Ⅳ. The Outcomes of the Research The children were applied Warner's teaching method of reading show higher learning effectiveness in improving the major vocabulary reading compared to those who were taught by the basic function of reading (P<.05).
