고등학생의 성역할태도와 가정환경 및 자아개념과의 관계 연구

Abstract

청년기는 신체적·사회적·심리적으로 과도기의 성격을 띄고 있다. 또한 이 시기는 성인으로 발달해 가는 과정 중에서 핵심적인 시기로 청소년들이 자기의 性을 어떻게 의식하고, 性에 따른 역할을 어떻게 내재화해 가는가는 상당히 중요한 문제가 된다. 그러므로 본 연구는 남녀 고등학생들이 성역할태도에 대해 어떻게 지각하고 있는지 살펴보고, 성역할태도와 관련된 가정환경 변인을 알아보며, 형성된 성역할태도와 자아개념과의 관계를 알아보는데 그 목적이 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서 다루어진 문제들은 다음과 같다. 1. 성역할태도는 남녀에 따라 차이가 있는가. 2. 성역할태도와 가정환경 변인(가치지향성, 집단성격, 심리적 과정)과는 어떠한 관련성이 있는가 3. 성역할태도와 자아개념(자아동일성, 자아수용, 자아행동, 자아평가)과는 어떠한 관련성이 있는가. 4. 성역할태도에 따른 자아존중감은 남녀에 따라 차이가 있는가. 이상의 연구문제를 검증하기 위하여 Osmond와 Martin의 Sex-Role Attitude Scale과 Mason과 Bumpass의 Sex-Role Ideology Scale을 번안·수정한 성역할태도검사, 가정환경진단검사(정 원식, 1978), 자아개념검사(정 원식, 1968)를 사용하였다. 이를 위해 서울시내 남녀 5개 고등학교, 5개 학급의 2학년 학생 300명을 선정하여 질문지를 배부하고, 회수된 질문지 중에서 남학생 135명, 여학생 123명, 총263명의 질문지를 가지고 자료처리하였다. 자료분석에서 가정환경 변인은 규준점수에 따라 상·하집단으로 나누어 보았으며, 평균과 표준편차를 구하고, F-검증, t-검증, x^(2)-검증하여 유의도를 구하고, Pearson의 적률상관계수를 산출하였다. 본 연구에서 얻어진 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 남학생의 성역할태도는 전통적이며, 여학생은 근대적인 태도를 가진 것으로 나타났다. 2. 성역할태도와 가정환경 변인 (1) 성역할태도와 가정환경 변인과의 상관관계는 사회상승, 물질지향, 전통주의, 응결력, 성취, 자율(P<.001)은 높은 상관을 보이며, 역할기대 (P<.01), 상호태도(P<.05)는 유의한 상관을 보이고 있으나, 개방과 친애는 거의 상관이 없는 것으로 나타났다. (2) 가정의 가치지향성 변인에서 사회상승적 가정의 학생은 근대적인 성역할태도를 보이나, 물질지향, 전통지향적인 가정의 학생은 약간 전통적인 태도를 가진 것으로 나타났다. (3) 가정의 집단성격 변인에서 역할기대, 상호태도, 응결력에 따른 성역할태도는 두 집단간에 유의한 차는 보이지 않았다. (4) 가정의 심리적 과정 변인에서 성취적인 가정, 친애 가정의 학생은 근대적인 성역할태도를 보이나, 자율적인 가정의 학생은 전통적인 태도를 가진 것으로 나타났다. 3. 성역할태도와 자아개념과의 관계는 자아평가(P<.05)는 유의한 상관을 보이나, 자아동일성, 자아수용, 자아행동은 거의 상관이 없는 것으로 나타났다. 4. 성역할태도에 따른 자아존중감은 근대적 집단의 남학생이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 여학생은 두 집단간에 유의한 차는 보이지 않았다.;The object of this study was to examine the sex role attitudes of high school boys and girls in Seoul, and whether boys and girls sex role attitude had influence on family environmental variables and self-concept. The following subjects were addressed in this study. 1. What was the tendency of the high school boys and girls sex role attitude in Seoul? 2. What influence had family environment of the domestic value orientation and the family syntality and the psychological process on the students sex role attitude? 3. What was the correlation between self-concept (self identity, self satisfaction, self behavior, self criticism) and sex role attitude? 4. What was the tendency of the high school boys and girls that self-esteem with sex role attitude? Questionnaires were given to randomly selected high school students in Seoul in april 1986. Data from the 263 responses was analyzed by mean, standard deviation, F-test and t-test and x^(2)-test, Pearson correlation. It was found that; 1. Generally, the high school girls in Seoul had modern attitudes. In division, girls had showed the modern attitude in familial roles and Job roles and stereotypes. the traditional attitude in familiar roles and job roles and stereotypes. Boys had showed 2. The family environmental factors are following. (1) The correlation between the social class-oriented, a material- oriented, the tradition-oriented, the power of family consolidation, achievement, autonomy are high correlation. (P<.00l) The expectation of parent's role, mutural attitude of family members and sexrole attitudes have seem to be meaningful relation but the openness and affection have not nearly correlation., (2) The group of the higher social class-oriented had shown the modern attitudes. The group of the higher material-oriented and the higher traditional-oriented had showen that a little traditional attitudes. (3) There was no difference in group syntality and sex role attitudes. (4) The group of the higher achievement and the higher affection have shown that the modern attitudes. The group of the higher autonomy have shown that a little traditional attitudes 3. The correlation between self criticism and sex role attitudes (P<.05) have nearly correlation but the self identity, self satisfaction, self behavior and sex role altitudes have not nearly correlation. 4. The self-esteem with sex role attitudes that is the group of modernize in boys are high level. In case of the girls, the group's difference have not seem.
