유치원의 놀이감의 활용도와 교육적 적절성에 관한 연구

Abstract

놀이나 놀이감이 유아생활에 미치는 영향이 크다는 생각은 프뢰벨에 의하여 강조된 이후, 이들의 중요성은 최근에 이르러 더욱 강조되고 있다. 이는 유아교육을 위하여 바람직한 현상이라고 할 수 있다. 유아교육에 있어 놀이감은 빼 놓을 수 없는 것이며, 더욱이 놀이감의 선택·활용에는 많은 문제점이 따른다. 본 연구는 유치원 놀이감의 구비정도와 이에 따른 활용도와 교육적 적절성을 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 서울시내 유치원을 중심·변두리 지역으로 나누어 30개 유치원을 방문, 질문지(면담을 곁들여) 조사를 실시하였다. 회수된 질문지는 백분율에 의하여 처리 하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 놀이감의 구비정도와 활용도를 보면, 구비정도에서는 조작 놀이감·그림책 및 언어놀이감을 위시하여 소꿉놀이감등 전반에 걸쳐 비교적 높게 나타났으나, 목공놀이 영역에서는 낮게 나타났다. 아동의 활용도에 있어서는, 소꿉놀이감 조작놀이감이 보통이상으로 나타났으며, 관찰 및 실험놀이감·물놀이감·모래놀이감·신체활동놀이감·적목놀이감·수놀이감에서는 약간 낮고, 목공놀이감은 매우 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 놀이감의 구비정도에 따른 아동의 활용도를 보면, 조작놀이감·소꿉놀이감은 구비정도가 높고 활용도도 높은 반면, 목공놀이감은 구비정도도 낮고 활용도도 낮다. 이는 다양한 놀이감이 다양한 놀이 활동으로 이끌어 주고 있음을 시사해 준다. 2. 유치원 놀이감의 교육적 적절성을 보면, 적목놀이감과 관찰 및 실험놀이감이 좋은 반응을 보였다. 목공놀이감은 구비정도 활용도 뿐 아니라 교육적 적절성 또한 좋지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 이는 목공놀이감의 개발이 부진한데 원인이 있다고 보며, 최근에 그 가치인식이 높아져감에 따라 다양한 놀이감의 개발과 구비에 힘써야겠다. 조작놀이감등 다른 놀이감은 보통으로 나타났다.;This study aims to survey the usage and adequacy of educational materials for the kindergarten. This study contains two broad questions as follows: 1. What kind of educational materials do kindergartens have in general? 2. Are the materials adequate for educational purposes? The sampling used in this study is thirty kindergartens located in Seoul area. Interview and questionnaire were used for this study. The results for the study were analyzed in percentages, and recorded in the main context. The results of this study are as follow: 1. In the aspect of equipment it was showed relatively high degree in constructive play, language kit, picture book and playhouse area. And it was showed low degree in woodworking area. In children's usage, playhouse materials and constructive playthings were used more than others. On the other hand, woodworking playthings were showed low degree in usage. 2. In the adequacy of materials the blocks and the science materials showed good reaction. Woodworking playthings found to be poor even in the materials including the constructive plaything show an even result as average. This shows that the quantity of the plaything are still wanted. In conclusion, the consciousness of value for the educational materials showed be progressed and advancement of the plaything quality is urged by activating the manufacturer's creativity in the field of manufacturing the various kinds of materials.
