室內空間에 응용된 織物作品 연구

Abstract

인류는 원시시대 생활에서부터 바람을 막고 몸을 따뜻이 하기위해 다른 동물의 털이 난 가죽을 사용해 왔으며, 수렵 어로 생활에서 농경 생활로 들어서면서 섬유를 채취하고 직물을 생산하기 시작하였다. 현대에 이르러 사람들은 실내 공간에 대한 관심을 갖게 되었으며, 실내 공간에 있는 직물은 그 특성 때문에 어떤 다른 요소보다 부드러운 느낌을 주며 생활환경을 풍요롭고 부드럽게 해 줌을 느끼게 되었다. 본 연구의 목적은 이러한 실내공간의 중요성을 인식하고 "기능과 형태를 동시에 충족시켜야 한다."는 20세기 이론에 입각하여 수직물을 그 기능에 맞는 디자인과 결합시킴으로써 실내 공간의 美的 가치를 높이고 인간 살의 질적 수준을 높이는 실용품이자 예술품을 창조하는데 있다. 연구 과정으로는 먼저 이론적 기반으로 일반적인 실내 공간의 개념과 구성요소를 알아보고, 60∼70년대를 중심으로 전개된 섬유 예술로서의 직물 작품들이 실내 공간에 이용된 경우를 예를 들어 설명한 후 본인의 작품 해설을 통해 실내 공간에 이용된 작품 즉 미적 가치를 가진 用的인 직물의 제작 과정 및 방법에 대해 설명하였다. 작품 제작에 있어서는 베드 커버, 러그, 타피스트리, 가리개, 섬유장식물 등의 실용품에 있어 다양한 재료와 기법을 사용하여 그 장식적인 효과를 살리도록 하였는데 1 . 인간이 사용함을 목적으로 함으로 인간 신체를 그 기준으로 치수를 정하였으며 2 . 재료에 있어서는 사람의 몸과 직접 접촉하는 것을 고려하여 면과 모를 주로 사용하고, 그 밖의 것은 그의 용도에 맞도록 고려하였고, 3 . 최근 섬유 예술의 경향인 미니어츄어 (Miniature)에 맞추어 예술성 있는 소품을 시도해 보았다. 4 . 문양은 우리나라의 전통 문양으로부터 현대적 감각을 풍기는 기하학적 문양에 이르기 까지 다양하게 표현하였으며 형태에 있어서도 평면적인 것으로부터 현대의 경향인 입체적인 것에 이르기까지 여러 가지 방법을 시도하였고, 5 . 색상은 하나하나의 요소를 떠나 전체적인 분위기를 고려하여 통일성 있는 가운데 염색을 통하여 변화 있는 색감을 표현하고자 하였다. 이상의 연구를 통해 느낀바 문제점으로는 1 . 실내에 사용되는 것으로 기능과 美를 충족시킨 실용품으로서의 직물을 만들어야 하기 때문에 많은 제한을 받았다. 다시 말해서 보기에도 아름답고 사용하기에도 편리해야 하는데 견고성과 안락함이 충족되는 예술품이 되도록 디자인해야 한다. 2 . 작품 표현에 있어 다양한 재료와 기법을 시도하였는데, 새로운 시도에 있어서도 여러 방법을 사용해 보아야 하기 때문에 많은 시간이 소요 되었다. 우리의 생활이 윤택해 짐에 따라 사람들의 생활공간에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 특히 현대 건축의 특징인 콘크리트, 강철, 유리 등 딱딱하고 차가운 느낌의 재료를 따뜻하고 부드러운 느낌으로 보완해 주는데 직물이 큰 역할을 담당한다. 이에 나타난 문제점들을 연구 보완하여 안락하고 독창적 분위기의 실내 공간을 창조하는데 많은 관심과 진지한 노력이 더욱 요구되어 진다.;From the primeval time man has used hairy skin of animals in order to protect from the cold and wind. Man began using fabric as they entered the agricultural age, man has become interested in the interior decoration. Those fabrics found in the interior space added softness to the atmosphere owing to fabric's peculiarity more than any other materials, which give richness and softness to the living environment. The purpose of this study is aimed at cognizing the importance of the interior space and creating practical work of arts which will heighten the merit of beauty of interior space and enriching qualitative living standard by combining the design and fabric best suited for function based on the twentieth century theory of "Function and form have to be simultaneously satisfied." As an approach to the study, spatial concept of general interior space and component elements were studied based on theoretical foundation and tried to expound instances of various fabrics used during the 1960's and 1970's. Finally through interpretation of work of arts, manufacturing process and method were studied on the merit in terms of beauty in addition to utility value. In the manufacturing process of the products, such practical items as Bed cover, Rug, Tapestry, Twofold screen, and fabric embellishment of varied materials and method were used, stressing the ornamental effect. ⅰ) As these are intended for the use of people, sizes and norms were matched for human scale. ⅱ) As for the materials, cotton and wool were taken into consideration as human skin is directly touched. For other materials, consideration has been made based on the use. ⅲ) In matching the miniature a new trend of Art Fabric in recent time, a new work of highest sense of arts was also tried as a trial. ⅳ) As for the pattern, traditional patterns as well modern, including geometric patterns, were fully reflected in diversified manners. As for the form, such form of both plane fabric and fabric sculpture were tried. ⅴ) In color, over-all atmosphere was considered instead of stressing each individual color. Thus diversified color arrangement was attempted through dyeing process. Issues and problems revealed through the course of study are; ⅰ) Much restriction was experienced as fabric had to stress the function and beauty of interior decoration. In another word, products should either has to be of good look, convenient, strong, and comfortable. ⅱ) In the manifestation of work of arts, as diversified materials were used and techniques were used, it took considerable time. As our life has enriched, interest in the living space has risen. Especially, to eliminate the atmosphere of solidity of modern concrete, steel, glass and the like, fabric plays an important role in assuaging such feeling and gives softer feeling. Issues thus far exposed through this study trill have to be further studied and in order to create more comfort and original atmosphere of interior space, more interest and genuine efforts should be made.
