성인 초보자를 위한 피아노 기초교본 연구

Abstract

There are many old piano beginners in today who have an inclination of self-actualization and self-accomplishment, by which they can be blessed with plentiful of sentimental life that obtained using musical ability. This study was to introduce the beginning piano method books for older beginners and those who teach them. In order to pursue this study, various literature and articles from the professional periodicals such as Clavier were reviewed. J. Bastien's Beginning Piano for Adult, F. Clark's Keaboard musician for the Adult Beginner, and W. A . Palmer, M. Manus & A. V. Lethco's Alfred's Basic Adult Piano Course were used as texts for this study. Adults differ in motivation and learning experience than children, because they have a philosophy of life, self-res-pectation, and have more accumulated experience in life. The teacher must keep in mind to make familiar atmosphere which gave a social freedom, and to participate more actively in their piano study. Generally, the adults show an impatient attitude toward learning piano, and they are more interested in playing their favorite songs rather than having step by step education as the children do. They get more satisfaction on their desire by having lessons to play songs by utilizing chords accompanyment. Lessons for accompanyment are taught by using the five finger patterns from the beginning stage in the adult texts. And reading and technic exercises learned by the five finger patterns enable them to learn multiple keys and transpose to another keys. Besides, the continuous motivations may be sustained by including repertories, such as folk tunes and popular songs, and to play them with their own accompanyment is very useful to fulfill their desire. Conclusively, lessons for accompanyment are very important in adult method book, and reading, chords accompanyment, and technic exercise with adult's favorite songs and folk tunes taught by five finger patterns may be very effective, as shown in modern adult texts used in this study. In addition, if teacher have a concern only for developing children's talents, the courage of adult beginners who want lessons for the purpose of pleasure deserted. Thus, the writer wants teachers widen their visions to accept adult beginners who are very eager to participate in the world of music.;본 논문은 성인 학생을 지도하는 교사와 여가활용으로서나 개개인의 자아실현과 자기완성을 위하여 피아노 학습을 원하는 성인들에게 합리적으로 쓰일 수 있는 기초 학습 교본을 제시하여 성인들이 생활속에서 보다 성숙한 태도로 음악 능력을 활용하므로써 풍부한 정서생활을 누리도록 하는 데 연구의 목적이 있다. 이를위한 연구 방법으로는 성인의 특성과 교수법을 고찰하기 위해 여러 관계문헌 자료 및 Clavier와 The Piano Quarterly를 비롯한 피아노 전문잡지를 통한 문헌 연구방법과, J.Bastien의 Beginning Piano for Adult, F.Clark의 Keyboard Musician for the Adult Beginner 그리고 W.A.Palmer, M.Manus, & A.V.Lethco의 Alfred's Basic Adult Piano Course의 세종류 성인용 기초 교본을 선정하여 분석 연구하였다. 본 논문에서 연구하고자 하는 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 성인 학습자의 특성 둘째, 성인 초보자를 위한 효과적인 피아노 교수법 세째, 성인을 위한 피아노 교본 내용을 분석 이와같은 내용을 연구한 결과 성인은 아동과는 달리 인생철학을 가지고 있으며, 아동들보다 자아개념이 발달되어 있으며 생활경험이 많으므로 학습 동기와 학습경험에 차이가 난다. 이러한 특성을 지닌 성인 학생을 지도할 때 필수적인 것으로 교사는 친숙한 분위기를 조성하여 성인 학습자가 능동적으로 참여하도록 계획하는 것이 효과적이다. 또한 아동과는 다른 특성을 지닌 성인들은 피아노를 학습할 때 성급한 태도를 보인다. 따라서 전문적인 음악인이 되기위한 단계적이고 순차적인 학습보다는 자신이 좋아하고 즐겨부르는 노래를 연주하는 것에 더 흥미를 느끼며, 그 노래에 간단한 몇개의 화음에 의한 즉흥화성반주를 위한 학습이 성인들의 욕구를 보다 충족시켜 준다. 이와같은 화성반주를 위한 학습을 성인 교본에서는 다섯손가락 위치(The Five Finger Position)에 의해 지도하고 있다. 다섯손가락 위치에 의해 학습되는 독보와 테크닉 훈련은 피아노 학습의 초기 단계에서 부터 흰건반과 검은건반을 모두 포함하는 전 조성의 학습과 함께 이조학습도 가능하게 한다. 이 밖에도 성인 교본에 포함된 Repertoire는 성인 취향에 맞는 민요, 유행음악등을 수록하여 계속적인 학습동기를 유발시키고 있었으며, 성인들이 즐겨부르는 단선율의 멜로디에 즉흥적으로 화성반주를 연주하도록 지도하고 있다. 이상과 같은 연구결과로 볼 때 현대 성인용 교본에는 화성반주를 위한 학습이 교재내용 구성면에 중요한 요소로 포함되며, 성인들 스스로 생활속에서 음악을 즐길 수 있게 되므로 성인 초보자들에게 유용하게 쓰일 수 있다. 이와 아울러 본 연구에 사용한 현대 성인 교본에서 보는 바와 같이 다섯손가락 위치에 의하여 독보와 화성반주, 테크닉 훈련을 지도하는 합리적인 방법에 의해, 성인들이 좋아하고 즐겨부르는 민요, 유행음악과 오랜 세월동안 계속해서 불리워지는 애창곡들은 우리 음악을 소재로 하여 우리의 음악 경험을 충분히 이용한 성인용 교본이 개발되어 널리 보급되기를 기대한다. 교사들이 단지 어린 학생들의 재능발전에만 관심을 기울인다면 개인의 즐거움을 위해서 피아노 학습을 원하는 성인 학생들은 그대로 방치될 것이다. 그러므로 필자는 좀 더 많은 교사들이 특별한 음악의 세계속에 참여하고 싶어하는 성인 학생들을 모두 받아들일 수 있도록 넓은 시야를 지니기 바란다.
