CAT 기법을 적용하여 학습자의 수준별 개별학습을 돕는 문제은행 시스템 설계 및 구현

Abstract

본 논문은 학습자의 수준에 맞춰 개별 학습을 돕는 문제은행을 개발하여 기존의 문제은행이 가지는 한계를 넘기 위한 연구이다. 평가를 위한 것이건 학습의 보조가 되는 것이건 기존의 문제은행은 크게 두가지로 나눠볼 수 있다. 하나는 학습자의 능력, 수준 등을 무시한 채 미리 정해져 있는 문제를 일방적으로 제시하고 학습자들은 수동적으로 문제 풀이나 평가에 임할 수 밖에 없고 학습의 적정 수준이나 목표, 목적에 알맞게 학습자가 접근했다 하더라도 이를 학습에 반영하여 학습자 수준에 알맞은 문제를 제공해줄 수는 없다. 다른 하나는 이전과 같은 단점을 보완하여 학습자 수준을 고려해서 문제를 제시하는 시스템의 경우인데 아직까지 이에 대한 연구나 사례가 소수인데다 이러한 몇 안되는 시스템들도 수준별 개별학습을 지원한다고는 하나 나름대로 한계나 단점 등을 지니고 있어 수준별 학습에 완벽히 다다르지 못하는 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이런 단점을 보완하여 학습자의 개별적인 정보(기존의 검사 결과)와 학습자 수준 테스트를 통해 알맞는 양질의 문항을 제공해 주고 학습 결과의 피드백을 받아 또 새로운 적정 수준의 문제를 제시하여 수준에 맞는 개별 학습이 되도록 CAT(Computerized Adaptive Test : 컴퓨터를 이용한 개별 적응 검사 - CAT 는 교육 및 심리 검사를 위한 새로운 방법으로서 컴퓨터를 이용하여 개인의 특성을 가장 잘 파악하기 위한 측정학적인 일종의 기법)를 이용하여 기존의 문제은행의 한계를 극복하는 새로운 개념의 문제은행을 제시하는 바이다. 학습자에게 능동적으로 접근, 최적의 문제를 제공해주는 진보된 문제은행을 통하여 개인차를 고려한 개별 학습이 이루어 지기를 기대한다. ; The purpose of this thesis is to develop a item bank that can help self-directed learning. Regardless of its purpose, for evaluation or learning assistance, existing testbank can be categorized into two groups. One group just displays programmed questions without considering learners ability or level. In this case, learners respond suggested questions passively and item bank is not able to accommodate learners level or answer. Another group, which is small group, is able to reflect learners level when they display questions. Although it is more progressed, they are not perfect yet. Although they are said to support individualized learning, they have limitations and shortcomings in supporting fully individualized learning. Demand for a good item bank, which can do pretest to decide learners level and display proper questions by considering the pre-test results, is very big. The thesis has tried to develop a new item bank by making use of CAT (Computerized Adaptive Test) so that it can overcome the shortcomings of existing item banks and assist learning. The benefit of this item bank is to decide learners level first through a sample test and display optimal level questions. This item bank can assist learners through individualized questions according their ability.
