바이엘 피아노 교재의 분석연구

Abstract

20세기에 들어와서 많은 피아노 교수법의 발달과 더불어 새로운 교재가 출판되기 시작하였는데 20세기 전반의 교재는 18-19세기의 피아노 교재가 테크닉 적인 면을 강조하던 것에 비하여 음악에 대한 포괄적인 이해를 위한 접근을 시도하고 있다. 이러한 변화가 1940년대 이후부터는 더욱 발전하여 포괄적 음악성 개발, 독보방법이나 리듬, 테크닉, 음악 이론의 부분에 있어서 많은 보완과 새로운 시도가 이루어지며 점차로 다양한 종류의 교재가 출판되고 있다. 그러나 이러한 교재의 발달과 보급에도 불구하고 19세기 교재인 바이엘(Beyer)은 우리 나라에서 높은 인지도를 바탕으로 1945년부터 약 45종류의 교재가 출판되었으며 현재 시판되고 있는 교재는 총 35종류이다. 이처럼 많은 수의 바이엘 교재들 중에는 바이엘의 「Vorschule im Klavierspiel Op. 101」의 완역본으로 출판되는 5종류의 교재 이외의 30종류의 교재가 편집자의 의도에 따라 다양하게 변형되어 출판되고 있다. 따라서 이 교재들의 변화부분을 살펴봄으로 우리 나라에서 시판되고 있는 바이엘 교재에 대한 정리와 이해가 필요하다고 하겠다. 본 논문에서는 우선 우리 나라에서 시판되는 35종류의 교재를 분류, 분석 기준으로 미국에서 출판된 피터스(Peters) 판의 바이엘 「Preparatory School Op. 10l」를 분석하였으며 피터스판에 근거하여 우리 나라에서 출판되는 바이엘 교재를 원곡의 충실도와 교재 구성내용에 따라 35권의 교재들을 3그룹으로 분류하여 분석 할 수 있었다. 제 1분류에는 우리 나라에서 출판되는 바이엘 교재 중 완역본 바이엘과 완역본 바이엘과 가장 유사하게 출판된 번역본 교재들이 포함되었다. 제 2분류의 교재들은 106곡의 바이엘 곡이 전부 포함되거나 혹은 1-2곡만 생략되어 사용되고 있으므로 교재의 기본 구성, 즉, 독보, 각 음표와 음악기호 등의 제시시기와 사용되는 조성, 화성 등의 부분은 피터스판과 일치하는 교재들이다. 그러나 이 외의 리듬연습을 포함하고, 손가락 연습곡을 생략하거나 재구성하여 수록하고 있으며, 10-40곡의 응용곡을 통하여 다양한 곡을 제시하고, 이론 부분에 있어서 학습자의 이해를 돕기 위한 자세한 설명이 제시되고 있는 교재들이 포함되었다. 제 3분류에서는 피터스판 바이엘과 비교하여 변화된 부분이 많은 교재들이 포함되었다. 이러한 교재들은 바이엘 원곡이 20%-65%의 비율로 사용되고 있으며 바이엘 외의 새로운 연습곡들이 제시되면서 건반 접근법, 조성과 화성의 사용, 이론의 학습, 리듬 연습, 악상기호와 나타냄말을 비롯한 여러 가지 음악기호의 도입시기 둥에서 제 1, 2분류 의 교재들과 다른 구성을 가지고 출판되고 있다. 그 결과 현재 우리 나라에서 시판되는 교재들은 피터스판파 동일하거나 거의 유사한 교재들도 출판되고 있지만 20세기 후반에 출판되는 많은 외국 교재에서 나타나고 있는 20세기 교재의 특정들을 바이엘 교재에 적용하여 받아들이고 있음을 알 수 있다. 그러나 바이엘의 이름으로 출판되는 교재이면서 새롭게 첨가된 부분이 바이엘 교재의 비율보다 많아지기도 하며 체계적인 이론적 고찰이 없이 어느 일부분만을 차용하여 교재를 구성하여 바이엘의 「Vorschule im Klavierspiel Op. 101」과 전혀 다른, 바이엘이라고 할 수 없는 교재로 출판되고 있음을 알 수 있었다. ; Many piano method texts have been developed and new methods for piano teaching are still being presented to the public since the beginning of 20th century. While the main trust for piano teaching before the 20th century was technique, the method in the first half of the 20th century was the general understanding on music. From 1940 onwards this led to various kinds of accomplishments in music was a good role to make diversified piano methods to appling to the reading, rhythm, theory and technique of music. Even though methods of teaching in many ways like the above mentioned developed and were published, the method by Ferdinand Beyer (1803∼1863) was published in the 19th century is the main teaching method used until now in Korea. Also, 「Vorschule in Klavierspiel Op. 101」 as well as about 35 kinds of amended texts are published under the same name of Beyer This is a good example to prove the limitations and simplification of piano text books in Korea. This paper was prepared to divide the above-mentioned 35 kinds of Beyer into 3 groups for the purpose of the understanding of Beyer based on the analysis of 「Preparatory School Op. 101」published by Peters. The classification of the 35 kinds of Beyer in Korea was as follows. 1) The 1st Group : These 5 editions included in this group almost same as 「Preparatory School Op. 101」 published by Peters. 2) The 2nd Group : They number 18 editions categorized to in this group contain 106 original melodies by Beyer, introducing theory, rhythm and the change in applied melody. 3) The 3rd Group : Total 12 editions of this group show much change compared to the original Beyer and this change is in accord with the features of teaching methods in the 20th century. Resulting from this study, the following tendency of Korean publishers became known. Most teaching methods are commonly used under the name of Beyer, even though they are totally different from 「Vorschule in KJavierspiel Op. 101」 by Beyer. Appended to Beyer s work are various pedagogy methods which are called from many foreign publications, showing the characteristics of piano pedagogical methods as they have developed over the second half of the 20th century, but without explanation of the theory involved. For the future, it is necessary to construct a new method and make the most of piano teaching methods which go through organized theoretical study for the basic methods of the piano.
