풍자적 표현연구 : 애완 동물과 인간의 정신적, 물질적 세태를 중심으로

Abstract

현대화로 인하여 사회가 점점 복잡해지고 치열해 지면서 인간의 삶의 형태는 급격한 변화를 맞이해 왔다. 물질은 넘쳐나고 소비가 미덕이 되기도 했지만 삶의 질은 높아졌다고 말할 수만은 없게 되었다. 시대가 점점 각박해 지면서 언제부턴가 사람들은 정을 나누기를 포기해 버렸다. 사람이 사람을 중요하게 생각하지 못하고 서로를 불신하는 풍조가 만연하면서 현대인은 외로움을 감수하며 살아야 하는 사회가 되었다. 이러한 인간소외와 애정결핍의 상황을 애완 동물을 통해 극복하려는 태도가 선진국에서부터 두드러지기 시작하였다. 사람에게 애정을 주느니 애완 동물에게 애정을 주는 것이 배신당하지 않는다는 이유였다. 인간보다는 동물에게 마음을 주고 물질적인 관심을 쏟아 붇는 것이 당연하게 여겨지는 사회를 살게된 것이다. 애완 동물에게 애정을 주고 정신적으로 의지하여 인간소외의 상황을 극복하려는 성향은 이제 자연스러운 것이 되어 우리주변에서 당연한 듯 접할 수 있다. 본 연구는 사회가 급변하고 복잡해지면서 인간이 인간과의 교류를 단념하고 애완 동물에게서 애정의 욕구를 충족시키고 심리적 안정을 찾으려는 과정에서 나타나는 정신적, 물질적인 세태를 풍자적으로 표현하는데 목적이 있다. 이론적 배경으로는 풍자적으로 시대를 조명한 도미에와 브뤼겔의 풍자예술과 현대미술에서 나타난 풍자성을 살펴보았다. 표현내용으로는 애완 동물에게 심리적으로 의존하는 인간의 상황을 나타내었는데 애정에 대한 의존과 인간소외의 상황을 극복하기 위한 대체물로써의 애완 동물, 그리고 애완 동물에게 물질적인 관심을 쏟아 붇는 인간의 모습을 다양한 상황을 통해 나타내었다. 작품은 풍자의 특성인 은유적이고 우회적인 방법을 적용하여 인간이 동물에게 의존하는 극단적인 상황을 비판하고 있다. 작품의 내용은 인간의 소외된 상황을 애완 동물과 맺은 여러 가지 심리적, 물질적 상황들을 통해 다루고 있으며 이를 비판하는데 중점을 두었다. 작품분석에서는 표현된 7점의 작품을 대상으로 이론적 배경과 표현내용 및 방법에 근거하여 분석하였다. ; Since our society becomes complicated and severe by modernization, the way of human life has changed rapidly. Though materials are abundant and consumption may be a virtue, it is the reality that we can t say the much higher quality of life. We abandoned the affection between other human beings because it is difficult to communicate each other. Our society is where humans don t think of other people s importance, distrust each other, and lonely peoples exist, only. In advanced countries, there has been an attitude to overcome such condition of human alienation by pets. The reason is that it is better to give love to pets than humans for not being betrayed. So we live in a society where we give affection and physical concern to pets more than humans. The endeavor to be dependent on pets, desire their affection, and then overcome the condition of human alienation is natural now, and we can experience such condition. The aim of this study is to satirize mental and physical conditions in the process of men s abandonment of communication with other people, satisfaction of the desire of affection by pets to get psychological stability. Daumier s satirical sculptures, Bruegel s paintings, and the works of modern artists are illustrated as the theoretical background. As expression contents, the human conditions dependent on pets psychologically are appeared, there are dependence on affection, pets as alternation for overcoming the condition of human alienation, and figures of human beings who concern pets physically. Most works make ridiculous mood by caricaturing, the feature of satirical sculptures so there is negative viewpoint owing to the character of satire. The contents of works consider the human desire of affection, and the criticism about the modern society where pets are given more luxurious service than human beings. In the analysis of works, the 7 presented works are analyzed on the basis of the theoretical background, expressed contents and methods.
