Antonio Gaudi의 작품을 응용한 모자 디자인 연구 : 작품 제작을 중심으로

Abstract

모자는 개성을 드러내기에 적합한 복식의 요소로 시대의 사회ㆍ문화적 환경을 반영하며 끊임없이 변화해왔다. 급변하는 시대인 현대의 대중성과 익명성 속에서 사람들은 차별화 된 미의식을 추구하게 되었다. 이제 의상의 부속품으로서가 아닌 패션을 주도하는 역할의 부분으로서 모자의 비중이 커지게 되었다. 조형 예술의 한 분야로서의 복식과 건축은 인간을 대상으로 형태, 선, 색채 등의 조형 요소를 가지고서 조형적 표현을 한다는 점에서 유사하다. 이러한 의미에서 건축은 복식의 요소로서의 모자 디자인에 있어 아이디어 모티브를 제공하기에 활용 가치가 높다. 본 연구의 목적은 예술성과 창조성을 자유롭게 표현한 스페인 건축가 안토니오 가우디의 건축 작품을 응용한 모자 디자인을 제시함으로 조형적 표현 영역을 확대하고자 하며, 다양한 아이디어 응용의 가능성을 제시하고자 하는데 있다. 연구의 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 본 연구의 대상인 안토니오 가우디의 시대적, 지역적, 사상적 배경을 토대로 건축의 특성을 살펴보고, 안토니오 가우디의 건축 작품을 형태, 장식, 색채면에서 조형적으로 분석하였다. 둘째, 모자에 대한 이론적 배경으로 발생 기원과 고대부터 현대에 이르기까지의 변천 과정을 현대에 중점을 두어 고찰해 본 후, 현재 사용되는 모자의 기본 종류와 형태를 분류해보고, 1990년대의 현태 패션 디자이너들에 의해 제시된 독특한 모자 디자인을 살펴보았다. 셋째, 이러한 배경을 토대로 모자 작품 8점을 제작하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 분석한 안토니오 가우디 건축의 특징은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 형태면에서는 아르누보적인 경향을 띄는 자연의 선을 구조체 자체에 역동적으로 표현하고 있다. 둘째, 장식면에서 다양한 이질재료의 혼합으로 독특한 재질감을 형성하고, 포물선이나 나선형 등의 연속되는 장식선을 사용하였다. 셋째, 색채는 구조체의 형태를 방해하지 않는 범위 내에서 사용하였으며, 흰색계열 및 황, 적, 청을 주로 사용하였는데 병치 혼합적 색 배합이 특징적이다. 이러한 가우디 작품의 특성을 응용하여 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 조형성과 장식성을 지닌 건축은 모자 디자인의 광범위한 아이디어 모티브로의 응용에 있어 다양한 가능성을 제시할 수 있다. 둘째, 안토니오 가우디의 건축 작품에서 조형적으로 분석된 구체적인 특징들은 작품 표현에 창조적으로 응용될 수 있었다. 형태면에서는 구조체 자체에 포물선ㆍ나선 및 자유롭고 기하학적인 곡선들을 조화시켰으며, 장식 및 기법면에서는 코바늘 뜨기 기법을 기본적으로 사용하되 뜨기 기법에 변화를 주었고, 에나멜 선과 비즈를 기본 장식 재로 사용하였다. 색채면에서는 가우디 작품에서 주로 사용된 흰색계열ㆍ황갈색계열ㆍ적색계열을 작품에 응용했고, 유사한 색계 열을 형태를 침범하지 않는 범위 내에서 조화롭게 사용하였다. 셋째, 수공예적인 기법을 사용함으로 현대인의 차별화 된 미적 욕구를 충족시키기에 적합한 가능성을 제시하였다. 이러한 연구를 통하여, 모자 디자인이 조형 예술의 한 장르로서 충분한 발전 가능성을 지니고 있으며, 건축과 같은 유사한 예술 영역과의 연계적 측면에서 예술적 인식을 조형화 할 때 표현 영역이 더욱 확장될 수 있다는 가능성을 제시하였다. 모자 예술인의 지속적인 연구로 이러한 아이디어 창출이 가속화되어 21세기에는 더욱 창조적이고 자유로운 예술성을 모자에 구현할 수 있기를 기대해 본다. ; The pursuit of ones s own individuality unlike modern society s popularity is presented as new aesthetic mind. As a symbol of that mind, desires for unique accessories are increasing, and hats become to have much importance. People wear hats not just as part of clothings, but more as part of a sole to lead fashion. Clothes and architecture have things in common in that they both have modeling and decorative characters, and they provide ideas to each other just like hats and architecture do. Applying a representative architect. Antonio Gaudi s work to hat design is suitable for opening our fired concept on hats. Based on the theoretical study of Antonio Gaudi s work, characteristics are as follows. First, in form, various curve planes and structures are used and they have an art nouveau trend. Also, the dynamic line of nature is expressed to the structure itself. Second, in decoration, various different kinds of materials are used by mixing, and consecutive curved lines are expressed with a parabola or a geometric spiral. Third, in color, various similar color harmony is pursued, and an accent is given through color contradiction. Colors used are mainly yellow, blue and red. The results of applying Gaudi s work are as follows. First, modeling character in architecture can be widely-ranged idea motive of the fixed form of hat design, and its decorative character can be applied to the superficial material of hats as various materials. Second, the form, decoration and color features of Antonio Gaudi can be applied to the process of expressing creative design world by harmonizing basic hat frame with iron bones and woolen yarn, enamel line and beads. Third, using hand craft skills can create high value added, and suggest various designs to modern people who pursue individuality. I hope that we should recognize that there are various ways of expression in hat design, and invent necessary material for hats to contribute to hat industry. Also, I expect there will be hat artists who can suggest creative design direction and possibilities to hat industry.
