후로킹 프린트를 이용한 의상디자인연구 : 한국전통 기하학 문양을 모티브로

Abstract

Fashion is a constantly changing medium influenced by the search for something new, Improvements in living standards and the enmeshing of cultures has made clothing more individualized, and more personalized beyond the functional aspect. The lifestyles of consumers are also hanging from one where quantity mattered in the past to one where more refined, quality-oriented products are desired. Eonsumption patterns tend to lean more towards high quality, unique and diverse clothing, and they are gradually expanding their concepts into the role of self-expression having tinges of spiritual and psychological values. In this aspect, print plays a major role in surface decoration for textiles, and is one of the sole methods to meet individual likings in the time of individual character. It can design according to the trends of fashion, which is regarded as one of the important points. The flocking process refers to the method of adhering piles after cutting raw materials to produce piles and paste glue on the processed objects. These days, electricity Is used, so it is called electrostatic flocking. The process can be used for nearly all materials such as textiles, timber, paper, metals, plastics and rubber, etc. The scope of its usage xtensively covers all industries. In addition, depending on the selection of type, length and thickness of raw textile piles, and the selection of processed materials, various textile quality effects can be obtained, which results in the extensive development of the flocking process to create surface decoration. The purpose of this thesis is to enhance the value of fashion products by effectively utilizing specific decorative characteristics by designing modern clothing with geometrlc patterns as motif. This is through the use of flocking print, which has the irregular surface effects different from general prints. As for the contents of the study and its methods, the concept and development processes of flocking and the method, principle and classification of the process were examined. Clothing designs with flocking prints were also examined, with regards to theoretical background. In expressing flocking print, the geometrical patterns and types and characterlstics shown in traditional Korean wooden rice-cake patterns and window patterns as motif were surveyed through literature and other materials The meaning of traditional patterns and patterns quoted in works were collected as photo materials, and cases of modern costume designs where traditional Korean patterns were applied were examined one by one. Based on the analysis, the unique surface decoration effects of the flocking print was used to produce 8 works in total. In production, the textile printing method among the electrostatic flocking process was Implemented. As for the motif of works, the geometrical patterns and types and characteristics shown in traditional Korean wooden rice-cake patterns and window patterns were classified by four works each, and then again, were classified, expanded and applied into two separate areas in terms of stability, simplicity, attention and movement, characteristics of the formative art. Also, by various distribution methods, the tendency for minimalism that simplified the whole silhouette and colors was reflected to design the items. For materials, various raw textiles such as gauze nylon, polyester and silk fabrlc were used with nylon piles. By using the mixed materlals of transparency and non-transparency, the effects of emphasis were expressed by visual contrasts. The modern sense and elegance were expressed by Images superlmposed on empty space. Also, with the unique surface process of the print, the contrast of textures was attempted, emphasizing the The results of the study are as follows: First, through the study on flocking process, we could understand the concept and processing methods on flocking process, and through studying its application areas, it was found that the flocking print was being used forvarlous areas. Second, by visiting domestic flocking factories and actually producing art products, it was experimentally confirmed that flocking print gives soft sense like velvet that enhances product values. Such kind of flocking print is available for various materials and at the same time, it makes available to express print designs freely In addition, a crucial advantage is that it can create high quality textile sense. Third, it has the advantageous quality that is available to all kinds of raw textiles. In addition, it was found that without using appropriate adheslves and finishing processes, symptoms of stiff sense in raw textiles and losing hair, that is, symptom of abrasion, are resulted in. This is a crucial part of flocking print and requires further study. Fourth, it was found that by using Korean traditional symmetric patterns in expressing flocking print, more modern style formative beauty can be expressed when the modern reformation of simple patterns are combined with the characteristic flocking print. Through the process of the research, the possibility of the flocking print process was attempted through the work In the aspect of art, not just In the aspect of product production for industrial decoration. There is a need to experience the diversity of expression by examining the method of flocking and applying it to items so that the unique decorative effects of the flocking print can enhance the added values of fashion products in the future and may further develop the print processing method. ; 패션은 새로운 것을 추구하려는 인간의 찰동에 의해 변화되고 창조되어진다. 현대 사회의 급속한 경제 성장에 의한 소비 생찰 수준의 향상, 그리고 날로 개성화 되어가는 생찰 문화의 변화는, 패션 분야에서의 의상의 역할을 단순한 기능적 측면을 초월한 미감이 강조된 개성 표현을 위한 수단으로 새롭게 인식시키고 있다. 소비자들의 생찰양식은 과거의 양적 추구에서 질(質) 위주로 변화되고 있으며 소비 패턴은 고급화·개성화·다양화 위주로 변화하는 추세로서, 의상은 정신적·심리적 가치를 지닌 자기 표현의 역할로서 그 개념이 착대되고 있다. 이러한 측면에서 프린트는 섬유의 표면 장식의 역할로서 다양한 이미지를 표현할 수 있어서 오늘날과 같은 개성화 시대에 개개인의 기호성을 충족시킬 수 있고, 유행의 흐름에 따라 디자인 할 수 있는 특성을 가지고 있어서 패션 의상의 중요한 요점으로 부각되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 현재 다양한 분야에서 사용되어지고 있는 프린트 기법 중 하나인 후로킹 프린트를 이용한 의상 디자인을 연구하였다 후로킹 프린트란 원사를 절단하여 단섬유를 생산하고 피가공물에 접착제를 도포한 후 파일을 접착 시키는 방법으로 오늘날은 주로 전기를 이용해 가공하므로 전기식모, 혹은 정전식모이라고도 한다 후로킹 프린트는 섬유, 목재, 종이, 금속, 플라스틱, 고무 등 거 의 모든 물질에 이용이 가능하며, 모든 산업 분야에서 폭 넓게 이용되어 왔다. 또한 파일 원사의 종류, 길이, 굵기 등의 선택과 피가공물의 선정등에 따라서 각기각색의 질감효과를 얻을 수 있기에 후로킹 프린트는 표면장식 가공의 하나로 널리 발전되어 왔다. 이에 본 논문에서는 일반 프린트와는 재질감에서 차별화된 부조적인 표면효과를 가지고 있는 후로킹 프린트를 이용하여 현대 의상을 디자인함으로써, 후로킹 프린트의 표면장식 특성을 효과적으로 찰용하여 앞으로 패션 상품의 부가가치를 높이고 의상을 디자인하는데 있어서 하나의 개성 있는 기법으로 실용화되고 발전할 수 있는 가능성을 제시하는데 그 연구의 목적이 있다. 본 연구자는 이론적 배경으로 후로킹 가공의 개념과 발전과정, 가공의 방법·분류·원리 등에 대해 알아보고, 후로킹 프린트를 이용한 의상디자인의 실태를 조사하였다. 후로킹 프린트를 표현하는데 있어서는 한국 전통 떡살과 창살에 나타난 기하학 문양을 모티브로 찰용하였고, 그 종류와 특성을 문헌 자료를 통해 고찰하였다. 또한 전통문양의 일반적인 개념과 작품에 이용된 문양을 사진자료로 표집, 한국 전통 기하학 문양을 응용한 현대 의상 디자인 사례를 차례로 조사·제시하였다. 이렇게 연구 분석한 것을 토대로 후로킹 프린트의 표면 장식 효과를 이용하여 총 8점의 작품을 제작하였다. 작품 제작에 있어서 후로킹 프린트의 정전기식 식모 가공 중 파일 날염차식을 이용하였다 작품들의 모티브로서는, 한국 전통 떡살과 창살에 나타난 기하학 문양을 각각 4점씩 분류하고, 또 다시 조형적 특성인 안정성, 단순성, 주목성, 율동성에 따라 각각 2점씩 분류·착대·응용하였으며,다양한 배열방식으로 전체적인 실루엣과 색채를 단순화하여 작품을 디자인 하였다. 이에 소재는 망사 나일론 폴리에스터, 실크 노방 등 다양한 원단에 나일론 파일을 사용하였고, 투명과 불투명의 혼합으로 소재를 사용함으로써 시각적 대비를 통해 강조의 효과를 나타내고, 여백의 이미지를 표현함으로써 현대적이며 고급스러움을 표현하였고, 프린트의 독특한 표면처리로 인한 질감대비를 시도함으로써 작품의 조형성을 더욱 강조하려 하였다. 이러한 연구과정을 통해서 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 후로킹 가공에 대한 고찰을 통해서 후로킹 가공에 대한 개념과 가공 방법을 이해하고, 그 적용분야를 조사함으로써 후로킹 프린트가 다양한 분야에서 사용되고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 국내 후로킹 공장들을 견학하고 작품을 실제 제작함으로써 벨벳과 같은 부드러운 감촉 등 상품의 가치를 높여주는 후로킹 프린트의 독특한 표면장식 효과를 직접 경험하고 착인하였다. 이러한 후로킹 프린트는 다양한 소재에 가능하며 동시에 프린트의 디자인을 자유롭게 표현할 수 있고 또한, 재질감에서 오는 고급스러운 느낌을 창출해 낼 수 있는 큰 장점을 가지고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 모든 원단에 사용 가능한 장점을 가지고 있는 반면, 적절한 접착제의 사용과 마무리 가공을 제대로 하지 않으면 원단이 뻣뻣해지고 털이 빠지는 즉 마 모의 현상을 초래하는 사실을 알 수 있었다. 이것은 후로킹 프린트에서 중요한 부분이고 계속적인 연구가 필요한 부분임을 알 수 있었다. 넷째, 후로킹 프린트를 표현함에 한국 전통 기하학 문양을 이용하여, 문양의 단순하고 현대적인 재구성이 개성있는 후로킹 프린트와 접목했을 때 보다 더 현대적인 조형미를 표현할 수 있는 귀중한 자료가 될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 연구 과정을 통해, 산업적인 장식용 제품 생산에만 그치지 않는 예술적인 측면에서의 후로킹 프린트 가공의 가능성을 작품 제작을 통해 시도하였으며, 후킹에 대한 고찰을 통해 그 표현방법의 다양함을 경험하고, 그 과정을 작품으로 응용하여 후로킹 프린트가 가지는 독특한 표면장식효과가 앞으로 패션 상품의 부가가치를 높이는 프린트 가공법으로 발전할 수 있는 계기가 되었으면 한다.
