무선 ATM네트워크에서 이동 패턴을 이용한 핸드오프 예약 기법

Abstract

무선 환경에서의 특수 요인과 셀룰러 네트워크에서 멀티미디어 서비스 제공에 따른 셀의 소형화로 인하여 핸드오프가 더욱 빈번히 발생한다. 따라서, 이러한 핸드오프를 효율적으로 처리하기 위해 이동 가입자의 이동 패턴을 분석하여 다음 셀을 예측하는 방법이 제안되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이동 패턴을 분석하는 방법의 한 가지로 이동 가입자의 속도와 도로 정보를 이용하는 것을 제시한다. 또한, 이 방법을 이용하여 다음 셀을 정확하게 예측하고 예측한 셀에서 미리 대역폭올 할당받는 이중 경계값을 이용한 예약 기법에 대해서도 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 기법은 시뮬레이션을 통하여 기존에 제안된 방식과 비교하였다. 시뮬레이션에서는 핸드오프에 대한 성능 평가 파라미터인 새로운 호 블록킹 확률과 핸드오프 실패 확률, 그리고 대역폭 활용률을 이용하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과에서 제안한 알고리즘이 핸드오프 실패 확률은 낮추면서 대역폭 활용률은 높게 유지하여 성능이 우수함을 알 수 있었다. ; Due to absolute limitation of wireless environment and increasing demands for multimedia service in cellular network, the handoffs are frequently occurred. To control these handoffs efficiently, schemes to expect next cell by analyzing moving pattern of mobile users have been suggested. This paper suggests one of method to analyze user s moving pattern based on the mobile user s velocity and road information, and then proposes a bandwidth reservation scheme using double thresholds. From the analysis we can predict the next cell accurately, and the bandwidth can be efficiently assigned to the mobile s user in advance. To compare with existing schemes, the performances of the proposed scheme are evaluated through simulation. The simulated performance parameters of handoff are new call blocking probability, handoff dropping probability, and bandwidth utilization. As a result, the suggested scheme decreased the handoff dropping probability, while maintaining a high bandwidth utilization.
