보육교사를 위한 영아 건강관리 교육 프로그램 개발 및 효과

Abstract

Due to the rapid rise in the number and length of time that infants who use day care centers, infant disease occurrences and accidents at day care centers have been increasing. However, most day care centers have no health professionals available on-site and health management has become the responsibility of day care teachers. Moreover, many day care centers face lack of training on health management for infants in the teachers’ training courses or in the in-service education. The purpose of this study was to develop an infant health management education program, applying instructional designs based on the Dick and Carey model (2008), and to examine the effects of the education program in the levels of the knowledge on infant health management, self-efficacy, and CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) performance competence. The infant health management education program was composed of three domains: infant health observation, infant health problems, and first aid. Educational media modules developed in this study included didactic materials, videos, and power point slides for the infant health management education. For criterion-referenced test items for the infant health management education program, the knowledge of infant health management measure and self-efficacy scale were developed. To evaluate the teachers’ CPR skills, the Infant 1-Rescuer CPR skill checklist by the Korean Association of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation was used. To test the effects of the infant health management education program, 40 day care teachers participated in the infant health management education program for nine hours over three sessions. The levels of knowledge and self-efficacy on the infant health management of the experimental group were compared with 40 study participants in the control group receiving no education. CPR performance competence in the experimental group was assessed pre and post education. After the education program, levels of both the knowledge on infant health management (t=10.87, p<.001) and self efficacy of the experimental group teachers were significantly higher than those of the control group teachers (t=6.80, p<.001). Also, the teachers in the experimental group showed statistically significant improvement in the CPR performance competence (t=-22.97, p<.001). The data indicated that the health management education program developed in the present study is effective in increasing knowledge and skills for infant health management. In the current situation, where there are not enough health education management programs for day care teachers, the infant health management education program can be utilized as training materials for in-service education. Enhancing abilities of day care teachers to manage health related issues may help promote infant health.;어린이집을 이용하는 영아의 수가 급속히 증가 하고, 영아들이 가정이 아닌 어린이집에서 생활하는 시간이 길어지면서 어린이집에서 영아의 다양한 질환 및 사고가 보고되고 있다. 그러나 대부분의 어린이집이 건강관리를 위한 전문 인력이 없는 현 상황에서 영아의 건강관리는 보육교사의 책임이 되었으나, 보육교사 양성과정이나 보수교육에서는 충분한 교육이 이루어지지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구는 보육교사를 위해 Dick 과 Carey 의 교수 설계 모형을 적용하여 영아 건강관리 프로그램을 개발하고, 보육교사에게 교육 후 영아 건강관리에 대한 지식, 자기효능감 및 심폐소생술 술기 능력에 미치는 효과를 검증하는 것이다. 개발된 영아 건강관리 교육프로그램은 영아 건강관찰, 건강문제, 응급처치의 3영역으로 구성되었으며, 영아건강관리 교재 및 동영상과 강의용 파워포인트 슬라이드를 교육매체로 개발하였다. 개발된 프로그램의 교육 효과 평가를 위해 준거지향검사문항으로 영아 건강관리 지식 및 자기효능감 측정도구를 개발하였으며, 심폐소생술 술기 능력은 대한심폐소생협회의 영아 1인 심폐소생술 술기 체크리스트를 활용하였다. 영아 건강관리 프로그램의 효과 검증은 영아 보육교사 40명에게 3회에 걸쳐 총 9시간의 교육을 제공한 후, 영아 건강관리에 대한 지식과 자기효능감을 교육 받지 않은 대조군 40명과 비교하였으며, 실험군의 심폐소생술 술기능력은 교육 전 후로 비교하였다. 그 결과는 교육 후 실험군이 대조군에 비해 영아 건강관리에 대한 지식(t=10.87, p<.001)과, 자기효능감(t=6.80, p<.001)이 높았으며, 실험군의 심폐소생술 술기능력이 교육 후 향상되어(t=-22.97, p<.001) 영아 건강관리 교육 프로그램의 효과가 검증되었다. 따라서 보육교사를 위한 영아 건강관리 교육이 부족한 현 상황에서, 본 연구에서 개발된 영아 건강관리 교육프로그램은 추후 보육교사를 위한 영아 건강관련 보수교육을 위한 자료로 활용 될 수 있을 것이다. 이를 통하여 보육교사의 영아 건강관리 능력의 향상과 아울러 영아 건강 증진에도 기여 할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.
