물의 해학적 변용

Abstract

본 논문은 홍수를 소재로 물의 순환을 해학적으로 표현한 본인의 작품을 토대로 한 작품논문이다. 홍수가 주는 비일상적인 풍경의 생경함은 본인의 상상력을 자극하였다. 홍수는 인간의 입장에서 보면 자연재해지만 자연의 입장에서 보면 하나의 자연적 현상이라는 관점에서 본 연구는 시작되었다. 물은 우주의 자연 현상체 중 하나이다. 대지의 물은 태양열을 흡수해 수증기가 되어 대기 속에 확산하고, 그 수증기는 응축되고 모여서 구름이나 안개가 되고, 다시 비·눈·우박 등이 되어 지표면에 내린 다음 모여서 하천이 되어 바다로 흘러간다. 이것을 물의 순환이라고 한다. 이렇게 물이 순환하는 사이에 대지을 깎아내고, 강의 흐름을 바꾸고, 흙이나 바위를 멀리 운반하기도 한다. 또 큰 비나 강이 범람하여 산을 깎고, 깊은 골짜기를 만들고, 단단한 바위를 침식한다. 밀려오는 거센 파도는 끊임없이 해안선을 침식하여 섬이나 대륙의 형태를 변화시킨다. 이러한 물의 순환은 자연 현상의 하나로 이를 정신적인 사상의 관점에서 보자면 정화와 재생, 창조의 순환적 구조를 나타내고 있다는 것이다. 이러한 물의 특징은 이중적 의미가 공존하는데 생성과 소멸, 탄생과 죽음이라는 두 가지의 다른 해석이 나올 수 있다. 특히 고대의 창세신화는 이러한 물의 이중적 의미가 두드러지는데 물로 인해 세계가 파괴되기도 하기만 그 속에 다시 시작할 수 있는 새로운 탄생과 생명력이 있는 것이다. 홍수가 나면 인류가 물로 다시 흡수되어 버리고 만다는 개념, 따라서 새로운 시대와 함께 새로운 인류가 시작된다고 하는 것과 결부되어 있다. 여기서 홍수는 자연재해의 개념이 아닌 하나의 순환적 개념을 나타낸다. 모든 생명체의 변화의 근원은 물에 의해서 생성되고 소멸되며 그것은 곧 자연의 법칙이라 볼 수 있을 것이다. 본인은 이러한 홍수의 풍경을 두려운 재앙이 아니라 일상 속에서 숨어 있는 해학적 요소로 긍정적 환상을 상상을 함으로써 일상적 이미지와 상상력을 통해 정신적 자유로움을 확장시켜 나감과 동시에 새로운 차원의 회화세계를 창출해 내고자 한다. 본 연구는 물이 갖고 있는 순환의 원리를 바탕으로 해학적인 관점에서 인간의 삶에 결부시켜서 나타내고자 하였다. 본인은 물의 순환하는 이미지를 중심으로 물의 분위기를 표현하는데 적절한 표현방법을 찾기 위해 노력하였다. 그 방법으로 물의 역동성과 조형성을 적절하게 표현하기 위해 점과 선을 사용하여 표현하였다.;This thesis paper is based on the flood of the circulation of water and the products of my work. The disaster the flood makes stimulated my imagination in natural phenomenon. In human’s point of view, flood is a natural disaster. In natures point of view, flood is one of natures phenomenon. Having that vantage point, the investigation has begun. Water is one of many natural disasters in the universe. Water on earth goes through a water cycle. When the sun heats up water in rivers, lakes, or ocean it is turned into vapor or steam. The vapor or steam leaves the river, lake or ocean and goes into the air. Water vapor in the air gets cold and changes back into liquid forming clouds, this state is called condensation. Then precipitation occurs when so much water has condensed that the air cannot hold it anymore. The clouds get heavy and water falls back to the earth in the form of rain, hail, or snow. When water falls back to earth as precipitation, it may fall back in the oceans, lakes or rivers. And when it ends up on land, it will soak into the earth and become part of the ground water that plants and animals use to drink. Or it may run over the soil and be collected in the oceans, lakes or rivers where the cycle starts all over again. During the water cycle the earth can be curved, the rivers flow can be changed, and soil and rocks can be transported to different places. Rough waves rising constantly in the shorelines cause erosion and changes the form of islands and continents. The water cycle is a natural phenomenon which purifies and reproduces, creating a new structure on earth. These features of water has two analysis, creation and destruction, birth and death. Especially in the ancient myth, it is said that because of water the world can be destroyed but because of water a new life or revolution can occur. In general, flood is thought to absorb all human kind, and then start and new era with new humanity. Flood is not thought to be one of natural phenomenon, but is represented to be a cyclical concept. All the creation and changes in the origin of life can be seen as a law of nature. I believe flood should not be something to be afraid of, but something that everyone should know and learn about. This study is based on the circulation of water and the connection to the principle of human life. To understand the water cycle I worked hard to describe the adequate representation of water. To express the dynamic property and modeling of water, I used a line and a point to represent this.
