프로코피에프의 「피아노 소나타 제 7번, Op. 83」에 관한 연구

Abstract

As the representative Russian composer and pianist in the 20th century, Sergei Prokofiev established the ingenious musical world balancing the traditional style and the new trend in the socio-politically turbulent age. Such an unique musical language of Prokofiev may be explained as 5 elements he presented. That is, elements classical, modern, toccata, lyrical and grotesque. He created various genres of works including symphony, concerto, solo and music for chamber, ballet and movies. Especially, he's a composer who showed a new expressive potential of the piano through discovering its many possibilities and adding dynamics of the percussion. 「Piano Sonata, No. 7, Op. 83」, his late work of 9 piano sonatas, is composed of 3 movements remarkable in the classical style, great lyricism and original expression. In the first movement, the 1st and 2nd themes appear with a contrast in the typical form of the classical sonata, and expresses tonality of B♭ major in the situation the key signature is not presented. Also, it's characterized by rhythm and melody of the percussion, clash of dissonances, modulation of rapidly changing, wide jumping of the various intervals. The second movement has a song form composed of 3 parts. As E major tritone off from the tonality of other two movements, it forms the tonal unity. Plays a variation on the beautiful, romantic and slow theme through the diverse expressions of chromatic motion, bell sound effect. As the rondo of the arch form, the third movement shows the firm tonality of B♭major from the beginning. The toccata styled theme dominates the entire movement of 7/8 time by the irregular 2-3-2 divisive rhythm with a highly inspired atmosphere. As such, 「Piano Sonata, No. 7, Op. 83」expresses his musical language with higher degree of completion so has the precious research value in understanding Prokofiev.;세르게이 프로코피에프는 20세기를 대표하는 러시아의 작곡가이자 피아니스트로, 사회, 정치적 격동기인 시대적 상황 속에서 전통적인 양식과 새로운 경향이 균형을 이루는 독창적인 음악세계를 구축하였다. 이러한 프로코피에프 특유의 음악 어법은 그가 제시한 다섯 가지 요소, 즉 고전적, 현대적, 토카타적, 서정적, 그로테스크적 요소로 설명된다. 그는 교향곡, 협주곡, 독주곡, 실내악, 발레음악, 영화음악 등 다양한 장르의 작품을 남겼고, 특히 피아노라는 악기에 많은 가능성을 찾아 타악기적인 다이나믹한 표현을 더하여 피아노의 새로운 표현 가능성을 보여준 작곡가다. 9개의 피아노 소나타 중 후기 작품에 속한 「피아노 소나타 제 7번, Op. 83」은 고전적인 양식, 풍부한 서정성과 독창적인 표현이 두드러진 3악장 구성의 작품이다. 제 1악장에서는 전형적인 고전 소나타 형식과 성격의 대비를 보여주는 제 1주제와 제 2주제가 나타나며, 조표가 제시되지 않은 상황에서 B♭장조의 조성감을 표현한다. 또한 타악기적인 리듬과 선율의 표현, 불협화음의 충돌, 급격한 전조, 다양한 음정들의 넓은 도약이 특징적인 곡이다. 제 2악장은 3부분으로 구성된 가요형식이며, 다른 두 악장의 조성에서 3온음 떨어진 E장조로 이 곡의 조성적 통일성을 형성한다. 아름답고 낭만적인 느린 주제를 반음계적 진행, 종소리 음향 효과 등 다양한 표현방법으로 변주해나간다. 제 3악장은 아치형식의 론도로, 시작부터 B♭장조의 확고한 조성감을 보인다. 토카타풍의 주제는 7/8박자인 이 악장 전체를 불규칙한 2-3-2 분할 리듬으로 지배하여 박진감있게 분위기를 고조시킨다. 이와 같이, 「피아노 소나타 제 7번, Op. 83」은 그의 음악 어법을 높은 완성도로 표현하기 때문에 프로코피에프를 이해하는데 귀중한 연구적 가치를 지닌다.
