제7차 기술, 가정과 교육과정 분석

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 1997년도에 공포되어 2001년 3월부터 중학교 1학년에 적용되고 있는 제 7차 중학교 교육과정 중에서 「기술ㆍ가정」과 교육과정을 분석하는 것이다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 우선 개화기부터 제 6차 교육과정기 동안의 가정과 교육과정의 변화를 사회변동과 관련지어 각 시기별로 검토, 분석하였다. 두 번째 작업으로는 제 7차 교육과정의 「기술ㆍ가정」과 교육과정의 성격, 목표, 내용, 교수ㆍ학습 방법, 그리고 평가 방법을 분석하여 기존의 교육과정과의 유사점과 차이점 및 특징을 파악하였다. 그리고 이를 기반으로 「기술ㆍ가정」과의 문제점을 분석하여 개선해야 할 점을 규명하여 올바른 가정과 교육의 방향을 설정하기 위한 기초 자료를 제공하였다. 개화 후 여성교육의 일환으로 시작된 가정과 교육은 일제로부터 독립, 한국전쟁이라는 사회적 변화를 겪으며 실생활과 밀접한 관련있는 기초 능력을 배양하는데 중점을 두고 이루어졌다. 1960～1970년대에는 과학기술을 가정생활에 응용하여 생활의 과학화 및 개선을 목표로 가정과 교육이 이루어졌다. 이는 가정과 사회에는 좋은 영향을 끼쳤으나 기술과 기능 습득 중심 교과로 가정과 교육의 성격을 규정하게 함으로써 교과의 정체성에 심각한 위협을 초래하게 되는 계기가 되었다. 1980년대 후반부터 가정과 교육의 남녀 공통 이수의 필요성이 대두대기 시작하여 1992년에 시작된 제 6차 교육과정에서는 남녀 모두를 대상으로 하는 과목으로 자리잡았다. 2001학년도부터 적용된 제 7차 교육과정에서는 가정과가 기술과와 통합되어 「기술ㆍ가정」으로 교과명이 변경되었다. 교과의 목표를 기술과 산업에 대한 기초 지식 및 기능습득, 가정생활과 관련된 기능 습득 및 가정생활에 대한 이해에 두고 개인과 가정의 생활의 질 향상과 사회복지 및 국가 발전에 기여하는 교과로 그 성격을 규정지었다. 통합교과인 「기술ㆍ가정」과의 교육과정을 분석해 본 결과, 두 교과가 외부적인 통합은 이루었으나 내부적으로는 진정한 통합을 이루지 못하고 있음을 알게 되었다. 「기술ㆍ가정」과는 교과의 성격, 목표, 내용, 교수ㆍ학습 방법, 평가 등 교육과정의 모든 면에서 기존의 「기술ㆍ산업」과 「가정」과를 병합한 형태를 취하고 있었다. 교과 내용 면에서는 「기술ㆍ산업」과와 관련된 영역 뿐 아니라 「가정」과와 관련된 영역도 기술적인 내용의 교육에 치우쳐 있어 균형있는 교과 내용 편성이 이루어지지 못했다는 문제점을 드러내었다. 또한, 새로운 교과가 신설되었으나 이를 지도할 교사에 대한 교육이 충분히 이루어지지 않은 상태에서 교과 교육이 시작됨으로써 양질의 교육 수행에 대한 의문을 남겼다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서 가장 우선되어야 할 과제는 「기술ㆍ가정」과가 통합 이전의 형태로 돌아가 두 교과로 분리되는 것이다. 또한, 가정과 교육 철학 및 성격을 명확하게 규정하는 일이 필요하다. 가정 교과와 관련된 문제점들과 어려움을 가장 잘 느끼고 있는 가정학자 및 가정과 교사들의 노력이 필요하다. 가정학자 및 가정과 교사들이 당면하고 있는 문제점들을 바로 인식하고 그것의 해결을 위해 적극적으로 노력할 때 가정과 교육이 당면하고 있는 문제점들이 해결될 수 있기 때문이다.;The purpose of this study is to analyze the subject of 『Technology & Home Economics』 curriculum in the 7th educational curriculum that was proclaimed in 1997 and applied for the 1st grade in middle school since March, 2001. To achieve the goal of this study, the changes that were enhanced from the flowering period through the 6th educational curriculum were examined and analyzed, while combining it with social alteration in timely manners. Secondly, the current educational curriculum of 『Technology & Home Economics』was compared to the previous curriculum in terms of its character, goal, contents, teaching method, learning method, and evaluating method. Finally, the current 『Technology & Home Economics』 curriculum was criticized. The subject of『Technology & Home Economics』is newly established out of the 7th educational curriculum, and it is combined with both the subject of『Technology & Industry』and『Home Economics』from the 6th educational curriculum. After comparing and analyzing the educational process of the unified subject, it was acknowledged that both academic subjects,『Technology & industry』and『Home Economics』, are only integrated outwardly, but not truly harmonized internally. The subject of『Technology & Home Economics』is consolidated with every segment from both the subject of『Technology & Industry』an『Home Economics』, which are character, goal, contents, teaching method, learning method, and evaluating method of the curriculum. However, the substance of the new subject only focused on technical side of education excessively, so that it shows that the contents of the subject are not well balanced. What is worse, the new curriculum began without sufficient preparation for teachers who would lead the course. One way to solve the present problems is to restore the old system and divide the new course back into two separate courses. Furthermore, those who plan educational curriculum should be more considerate and liable. As a conclusion, utmost effort to improve educational system considerably is required for teachers and home economists. When they recognize the problems they face and make the greatest effort to solve the problems, they will be able to innovate the present educational system better, thus maximize the outcome. current trend of using state of the art technology in teaching and learning methods.
