텔레비전 드라마 '여비서'에 묘사된 비서직 업무에 대한 내용분석 연구

Abstract

드라마 『여비서』에 대한 전체적인 분석 결과는, 12회 전체를 볼 때 비서직 묘사라기 보다는 직장에서의 일상을 묘사한 드라마 였다. 따라서 본 연구 대상 드라마는 드라마의 타이틀과 달리 비서직을 제대로 묘사해 주지 못했다. 그러나 세부업무로 들어 가서 볼 때 긍정적인 시각에서는 바람직한 묘사도 있었다. 특히 오유경의 비서로서의 자세면에서는 다른 비서들과 비교하여 직업윤리 의식이나 충성심, 성실성도 강조했고 비서는 차나 나르는 사람이라는 이미지를 없애기 위해 노력했다는 점이다. 반면 비서학적 측면에서 볼 때는 비서직에 대한 전문성이나 특수성을 살리지 못하고 일반 사무직 종사자들도 하고 있는 업무묘사를 함으로써 비서업무의 중요성을 부각시키지 못했다. 본 논문의 세부적인 연구결과를 살펴 보면 다음과 같다. 1. 일반적 측면: 드라마 주제가 여비서인 만큼 성별 분포는 모두가 여성이었으며 여비서 5명 모두가 20대였고 이지제를 제외하고는 모두 자녀가 없는 것은 물론 혼인에 대한 경험이 없었고 대졸로 분석되었다. 생활 수준은 최고급 승용차를 타는 민지희를 제외하고는 중 정도였다. 2. 외적특성: 전체적으로 볼 때 용모나 키, 화장은 평범했으며 체격은 일반적으로 날씬했다. 언어는 모두 표준어를 사용하고 있었으며 의상 역시 원피스 혹은 투피스, 바지정장 차림으로 비서직에 적합한 의상들이었고 화려한 액세서리 착용 등은 하지 않았다. 3. 성격특성: 5명의 비서들이 각자 달랐기 때문에 인물별로 정리를 해보면 다음과 같다. (1) 오유경: 강인하고 능동적이며 합리적이고 지적인 면에 가깝고 개인적이거나 헌신적이기 보다는 중립적인 면이 강했고 현실적이었으며 동정적이거나 냉정하지도 않은 중립적이었으며 공격적이지 않고 헌신적이기 보다는 중립적이며 상냥한 성격이었다. (2) 이현수: 신입 사원이었던 관계로 자기만의 독단적인 업무가 명확하지 않아서 인지 대체적으로 중립성을 보였으며 능동적이기 보다는 수동적이었다. (3) 한준희: 5명의 비서 중 성격이 연약하고 동정적이었으며 상냥하고 합리적이기 보다는 감정적이었고 지(知)적이지 못한 것으로 분석되어 비서로서는 적합하지 않은 인물로 분석되었다. (4) 이지제: 5명의 비서 중 가장 개인적인 주장이나 성격이 강한 사람으로 강인하고 현실적이고 지(知)적이었으며 공격적이고 냉정하며 엄격한 성격으로 헌신적인 성격이기 보다는 개인적이었다. 반면 능적이고 합리적인 사람으로 분석되었다. (5) 민지희: 강인하고 합리적이고 지(知)적이며 개인적이고 공격적이었다. 또한 현실적이며 냉정한 성격의 사람으로 분석되었다. 4. 직업적 특성: 직업윤리 의식면에서 살펴보면 오유경과 이지제가 강한 것으로 나타났으며 이현수와 한준희는 중간정도로 나타났고 민지희는 직업윤리 의식이 가장 낮은 것으로 분석되었다. 5. 업무태도: 신입비서인 이현수와 2회의 진미옥을 제외하고는 모두가 일 처리에 있어 자기 할 일을 능동적, 자율적으로 수행하고 있는 것으로 분석 되었고 친절면에서는 모두 보통으로 분석되었다. 전문성에 있어서는 오유경과 이지제가 전문성을 보이고 있었고 나머지 3명은 미숙하거나 보통인 것으로 분석되었다. 6. 등장 비서들의 활동장면 분석에서 세팅(등장장소)은 BK전자 내부에서 많이 이루어진 것으로 나타났다 7. 업무내용 분석 (1) 가장 많았던 업무는 대인관계 업무 중 전화 업무가 가장 많은 것으로 분석되었다. (2) 드라마『여비서』는 일반 조직원들도 하고 있는 업무를 묘사함으로써 비서로서의 전문성과 특수성을 살려내지 못했다. (3) 드라마『여비서』는 비서직만의 특수 업무라 할 수 있는 기밀사항이나 위임업무 수행에 대한 묘사가 전혀 없었다 (4) 비서 업무 중 방문객 응대는 외부인사나 외국인 응대보다는 드라마상에 설정된 BK전자 내부 사람들의 응대가 더 많았다. (5) 차 접대의 경우 경험 많은 비서는 접대를 하였고 경험이 적은 비서는 차 접대보다는 준비하는 경우가 더 많게 묘사되었다. (6) 드라마『여비서』에 등장하는 비서들의 사외(社外)묘사는 주로 카페에 모여 잡담을 하거나 술을 마시거나 마셨다는 묘사가 많았다. 이와 함께 분석결과에 의하면 등장비서 5명 모두 학원을 다닌다거나 스포츠 강습을 받거나 독서 등 자기발전을 위한 시간을 갖는 묘사는 없었다. (7) 회장의 리더십 유형은 민주적인 것으로 분석되었다 이러한 연구결과는 텔레비전이 실제 비서직을 제대로 묘사하지 못했다는 것을 보여주며 방송사 뿐만 아니라 매체들이 향후 비서직을 묘사할 때 어떠한 점을 고려해야 할지를 분명하게 해주는 지표가 된다고 하겠다. 따라서 그동안 대부분 부정적이고 단편적으로만 묘사되었던 비서직이 이후로는 기업내에서 없어서는 안될 필수직으로서 바르게 묘사될 수 있는 터전을 마련하는 계기가 되었으면 한다.;Programs for HDTV, along with digital satellite broadcasting, began in the regular broadcasting schedule. Now TV stations are competing to send their drams to the air. This raises the degree of dramas, which is called the "flower of TV". It is an accepted fact that TV induces addiction and has an important influence by providing role models. So if producers make and broadcast dramas, without researching the job and the advice of professionals. The drama can give the public a distorted opinion. The purpose of the study is to analyze the job of personal secretary portrayed in the program of 『Female Secretary』 broadcast from February to May in the year of 2000. For that purpose, the following research targets are established. 1. What are the differences between secretaries in the program and actual secretaries? Does the drama really reflect reality? 2. How did the drama, as the first to deal with the job, describe the job of personal secretary? The Eight secondary problems for further research are set. There are two methods of analyzing the program: literature research and content analysis. The one deals with what influence the effect of image and media has on TV, and the other analyzes the content of the program using 12 videotapes. So we can understand the significance of TV and the influence on the public of a job expressed in a TV drama. The results of this study are as follows. The drama 『 Female Secretary 』focuses on everyday affairs in a workplace rather than characteristics of the job of the personal secretary. Therefore, the content of the drama 『Female Secretary』 is not in harmony with the title. On the positive side, several realistic details can be observed in the program. Oh Yoo Kyoung, playing the part of a secretary focuses on her ethics, faith and sincerity and shows that a secretary is not just an office girl who makes coffee. However, the drama does not show the technical nature and specialization of the job. 1. Results in general: the characters are all women in their 20's, and single. They are all undergraduate. They are all in the middle class. 2. External characteristics: they are not unusual in term of figure, stature and slimness. All use a standard language. They are alike and wear similar makeup. And they do not wear fleshy accessories. 3. Character's personalities (1) Oh Yoo Kyoung: strong, active, reasonable, intellectual, realistic, neutral, and very kind and not private, sympathetic and aggressive. (2) Lee Hyun Soo: a rookie, without her own assignment, neutral, passive rather than active. (3) Han Jun Hee: mild, sympathetic, emotional, unintellectual, and not the right woman for the job. (4) Lee Ji Jae: the most private, realistic, intellectual, aggressive, strong, cold-minded, active, reasonable, and not devoted. (5) Min Ji Hee: strong, reasonable, intellectual, private, aggressive, realistic, and cold-mined. 4. Characteristics of a job: Oh Yoo Kyoung, Lee Ji Jae have the best sense of work ethics in the office. Lee Hyun Soo and Han Jun Hee are inconsistent in their devotion to the job. Min Ji Hee has the least sense of work ethics. 5. The characters work mostly in BK Electronics. 6. Analysis of work tasks (1) Most assignments are chiefly related to telephoning. (2) The drama fails to describe the professionalism and specialization of the job by portraying assignment that ordinary workers can do. (3) The drama does not portray the senses of performing classified and commissioned tasks which are a secretary's proper assignment. (4) The secretaries greet more BK Electronics employees in the drama than outsiders and foreigners. (5) Experienced secretaries host customers themselves and inexperienced ones largely prepare the drinks. (6) The drama describes their private lives of getting together at a cafe and talking to each other. It does not show characters taking any sports courses or spending their leisure time for their own development. (7) The chairman's leadership seems to be very democratic. The research results show that TV programs as in the case of『 Female Secretary 』does not properly portray the job of personal secretary. The job is portrayed negatively and only partially. Media and TV stations would do better to describe the job on the basis of research results. The job of personal secretary should be portrayed as an indispensable part of a corporation.
