Abstract

그리그(Edvard Grieg 1843-1907)는 19세기 후기 낭만주의 시대 노르웨이를 대표하는 민족주의 음악가로 전통적인 고전주의 형식 위에 자신만의 서정성과 민족성이 가득한 작품들을 남겼다. 그는 조국 노르웨이의 국민음악 기초를 확립하여 그 수준을 높이 올렸다. 당시의 사회적 조류(潮流)를 이루었던 민족주의는 고전음악이래 그 당시까지 독일음악의 기법을 배운 나라들이 독일 중심에서 벗어나 자기 나라의 민족음악을 연구하면서 독자적인 국민음악을 수립하는데 역할을 하였다. 이 곡은 그리그의 유일한 Cello Sonata로 Violin Sonata와 함께 널리 연주되는 작품이다. 곡의 구성은 3개의 악장으로 이루어져 있는데, 1악장은 소나타 형식, 2악장은 가요형식, 3악장은 소나타 형식으로 되어있다. 1, 2, 3악장 모두 2개의 주제가 대립, 병치, 혼합, 반복되고 있으며, 선율과 화성은 매우 단순하고 서정적이다. 그리고 전통적인 3화음과 7화음의 화성진행, 대위법적인 기법, Pedal Point와 같은 지속음 사용, 반음계적 선율진행, 관계조 이외로의 전조 및 다양한 연주법을 통해 고전적인 것과 근대적인 것이 잘 조화된 작품으로 볼 수 있다. 본 논문은 Grieg의 음악세계에 대한 이해와 함께 악곡 분석을 통해 이 곡을 더 잘 이해할 수 있도록 하는데 목적을 두었다.;Edvard Grieg(1843-1907) formed the basis of national music of Norway, his fatherland. He raised greatly the musical level of the country as a nationalistic musician. The Nationalism which was the social trend at his time, took an important role in the music of the 19th century. In the countries who had adopted the techniques of German music since the foundation of classicism devoted themselves to establishing their own national music by studying their traditional music. This thesis is a study on the analysis of Edvard Grieg's Cello Sonata in a minor op. 36, it focuses on the general background of the composer and his music Cello Sonata in a minor op. 36 is the only sonata by Grieg, and along with his violin sonatas widely loved by many players. This sonata is composed of three movements. The first movement is in Sonata form, the second movement is in Lied form, and the third movement is also in Sonata form. In all three movements, two major themes, respectively, are contrasted, paralleled, mixed, or repeated. The melody and harmony of Cello Sonata in a minor op. 36 is simple and lyric. There are simple rhythm, chord progression of triad, dominant seventh chord, contrapunctal technique, pedal point, chromatic motion, transposition to unrelative keys, and various performance techniques. The purpose of this thesis is to help understand through the knowledge of analyzing Grieg's Cello Sonata with his music.
