한국어 교재의 문화 요소 분석 및 한국어 문화 통합 교수 방안

Abstract

언어교육에서 문화교육의 중요성에 대한 인식이 확산됨에 따라 외국어로서의 한국어 교육에 있어서 문화 교육도 최근 들어 그 관심이 고조되고 있다. 그러나 여전히 한국어 교육에서 문화 교육은 단순한 관람 위주의 일회성 문화 체험으로 이루어지는 경우가 많다. 또한 학습자들에게 가장 영향력 있는 문화 전달자 역할을 할 수 있는 교재에서도 여러 가지 한국 문화 요소가 제대로 반영되어 있지 못하다. 한국 문화 학습의 목표는 학습자들에게 한국 문화에 대한 흥미를 높이고 이해를 증진시키며 궁극적으로는 문화간 의사소통 능력을 배양할 수 있도록 하는데 있다. 이를 실현하기 위해서는 비효율적인 교재를 보완할 수 있는 효과적인 교수 학습 매체의 활용이 요구된다. 본 연구는 한국어 교재에서 문화 교육 내용을 구성하는 문화 요소를 분석하고 이들의 자료 제시 형태와 활동과의 연계성에 대한 분석을 통해 교재에서의 한국문화 교육의 한계점을 밝힌다. 그리고 이러한 한계점을 극복하기 위한 효율적인 교수학습 매체 활용 방안 중의 하나로서 웹을 활용할 것을 제안한다. 풍부한 문화 자료를 실제적인 맥락 속에서 제시하는 웹사이트를 통해 교재에 나타난 한국 문화 요소 제시의 한계점을 보완할 수 있는 문화학습 방안 제시를 본 연구의 목적으로 한다. 구체적으로 본 연구는 한국어 교재에 나타난 문화 교육의 한계점을 밝히기 위해 기존 문화 교육 이론에서의 문화 내용 분류를 참조하여 문화 요소를 언어, 생활 양식, 가치관, 지리, 역사, 제도, 성취문화로 범주화하고 이를 바탕으로 한국어 교재에 반영된 문화 요소를 분석한다. 이와 함께 문화 요소가 각 교재에서 제시된 형태와 학습활동과의 연계성도 분석한다. 그 결과 한국어 교재가 한국 문화 요소를 다양한 영역에서 반영하고 있지 않으며 그 제시 방법 또한 텍스트 중심으로 학습자들의 한국 문화에 대한 흥미를 높이고 관심을 증대시키기에는 크게 부족함을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 한국어 문화 통합 학습 매체로서 웹을 활용하는 방안은 이러한 한계점을 상당 부분 보완 해 줄 수 있는데 첫째, 웹은 풍부한 한국문화 요소를 문자, 그림, 오디오, 동영상 등 다양한 형태로 제시하며 둘째, 웹에서의 다양한 상호작용을 통해 한국인의 사고나 가치관을 접할 수 있고 셋째, 웹을 활용한 문화 학습은 학습자 중심의 자율 학습과 개별화 학습을 통해 자기 주도적 학습이 가능하다는 특성을 지닌다. 이에 따라 웹에서의 문화 자료를 활용하여 교재에서 효율적으로 다루지 못한 문화 요소를 보완하여 한국어 문화 통합 수업안을 구성하여 제시하고자한다. 이를 통해 문화 학습에서의 웹 활용이 학습자들의 문화간 의사소통 능력을 향상시키기 위한 효율적인 하나의 방안으로 활용될 수 있기를 바란다.;As the importance of cultural education in the language education has been recognized, Teaching Korean as foreign language has recently focused on cultural education. But cultural education in the Korean education has been composed of simple cultural experience. Even the textbooks, one of the most influential culture bearer, don't reflect many kinds of Korean cultural aspects. The goal of learning Korean culture is to strengthen the interest of Korean culture, and to aggregate intercultural communicative competence. The realization of the goal requires the effective use of teaching aids. This study is that cultural aspects in Korean texts are analysed and that the limits of the education of Korean culture are revealed. I suggest that one of the ways to overcome those limits be the use of websites. Websites propose many kinds of cultural materials in the real contexts and make up for the limits. This study categorizes cultural aspects as language, ways of living, ways of thinking, geography, history, systems, and achievement culture, analyzes cultural aspects in the Korean texts, and analyzes the relation between the presented cultural aspects and learning activities, to reveal the limits of cultural education in the Korean texts. The result is that Korean texts have not reflected many kinds of Korean cultural aspects, the ways of presenting cultural aspects have not enhanced learners' interest in Korean culture. One of the ways to make up for the limits is the use of web. First, web can present many kinds of Korean cultural aspects in the form of character, pictures, audio, VOD. Second, ways of thoughts and value are revealed in the many kinds of communication in the web. Third, learner-autonomy and individual learning lead to self-directed learning. The cultural activities of using web include information collection and analysis, problem solving, interpersonal exchange. Finally, this study shows that cultural materials in the web can be used in the cultural learning. The use of web in the cultural learning is one of the effective ways to enhance intercultural communicative competence.
