Santiago Calatrava의 작품에 나타난 새의 이미지를 응용한 패션디자인 연구

Abstract

자연은 모든 생물체의 근원이며 인간 삶의 원천으로서 그 의의를 가지고 있으며 자연의 일부로서 존재하고 있는 인간은 무한한 예술의 창조자인 자연을 끝없는 예술창조의 대상으로 삼고 있다. 구조미학의 건축가 Santiago Calatrava 또한 자연이나 생물로부터 발상된 구조형식에서 모티브를 얻어 그의 섬세한 관찰력을 통해 은유적인 건축이나, 교량 등을 제작하였다. 그 중에서도 다양한 동적인 형태의 새의 이미지는 그의 참신한 디자인을 가능하게 하는 주 모티브가 되었다. 이에 본 연구자는 Santiago Calatrava의 건축세계에서 다루어진 인간의 기록에 존재하는 먼 옛날부터 인류의 삶의 문화적, 종교적 미적 측면들에서 다루어져 온 새의 이미지와 형태에서 창작 흥미를 갖게 되어 이를 패션디자인에 접목, 그 활성화를 모색하고자 한다. 본 연구의 목적은 Santiago Clatrava의 건축 작품에서 나타나는 새의 이미지를 모티브로 새의 생물학적 특성과 외부 구조를 이해하고, 새의 다양한 동적인 형태와 조형적 특성을 재구성함으로써 풍부한 조형가능성을 조명하는데 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 Santiago Clatrava의 건축에서 나타나는 조형적인 구조 미와 그의 작품에서 모티브로 사용된 새의 다양한 동적인 형태에서 나타나는 조형적인 아름다움을 예술적인 패션디자인과 접목함으로써 패션디자인의 표현영역을 확대하는데 의의가 있다. 본 연구의 내용과 방법은 Santiago Calatrava의 건축 작품을 문헌 고찰과 이론적 연구 및 분석하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 얻어진 건축 작품의 모티브를 크게 인체, 새, 골격으로 분류하였다. 그 중에서도 새의 생물학적 특성 및 조형적 형태를 중점적으로 연구하여 작품제작에 반영하였다. 또한 컬렉션을 통해 발표 된 새의 이미지를 응용한 현대 패션 디자인 사례를 조사하였다. 작품의 조형화 과정에서는 본 연구자의 작품에서 가장 중시했던 새의 형태의 조형성을 다양하고 입체적으로 표현하기 위해 와이어를 주 소재로 사용하여 작품 제작에 적용하였다. 이러한 내용을 바탕으로 새의 이미지와 형태적 특성을 강조, 변형, 재해석하여 작품의 조형미를 강조했다. 이를 토대로 새의 이미지를 응용하여 여러 가지 조형적인 디자인을 개발하여 총 8벌을 다양한 아이템으로 전개하여 작품을 제작하였다. 본 연구의 이론연구와 작품제작을 통하여 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, Santiago Calatrava는 자연이나 생물로부터 발상된 구조형식으로서의 새의 신체나 형태 또는 골격의 구조를 건축에 적용, 작품을 제작하였다. 둘째, 새의 골격구조는 조형물의 외부형태를 유지시켜주고, 내부 구조적인 측면에서도 과학적으로 구성 되어져 있다. 이러한 새의 외부•내부의 구조적인 구성 형태는 작품제작에 있어서 구체적인 디테일 요소로 활용하는데 효과적이었다. 셋째, 새의 다양한 형태를 표현하고 유지하기 위해 사용한 와이어는 다양한 입체적인 형태를 효과적으로 표현할 수 있으며, 반투명 소재의 샤는 가벼움과 불투명과 투명의 사이의 공간(空間)감을 시각적으로 표현할 수 있었다. 넷째, 새의 형태에서 나타나는 부분적 디테일 요소를 작품의 모티브로 활용함으로써, 패션디자인에 있어서 인체의 기능적 측면을 고려한 다양한 패턴구성의 제시가 가능하게 되었다. 이상과 같이 본 연구의 과정을 통해 Santiago Calatrava가 해석한 새의 내•외적(內•外的) 형태에 대해 깊게 이해하게 되었고, Santiago Calatrava의 새의 이미지를 활용한 조형적 건축 작품의 특징을 이용하여 창의적이며 조형적인 예술적인 작품을 제시하였다. 이를 통해 폭넓은 패션디자인의 새로운 가능성과 발전의 계기가 되기를 바란다.;Nature has the significance as the origin of every being as well as the source of human life and human being existent as a part of nature is taking up nature as the infinite art creator for the subject of ceaseless art creation. Santiago Calatrava, an architect of structural aesthetics, also got the motif from structural forms originated in nature or living things to produce metaphorical buildings or bridges through his delicate observation. Out of them, the image of bird in various dynamic forms became the main motif to enable his fresh design. Thus, this author came to have an interest in the image and form of bird dealt in the Santiago Calatrava's world of architecture, which had been dealt in cultural, religious and aesthetic aspects of human life since great antiquity existent in human records, and intended to graft it onto fashion design for the invigoration. The object of this study is to understand the biological characteristics and the external structure of bird as the motif of the image of bird shown in Santiago Calatrava's architectural works and to shed light on the extensive structural possibility by reconstitution of the various dynamic forms and the formative characteristics of bird. Therefore, this study is meaningful to graft the formative structural beauty shown in the Santiago Calatrava's buildings and the formative beauty shown in the various dynamic forms of bird used as the motif in his works onto the artistic fashion design so to expand the expressional areas of fashion design. For the contents and method of this study, it performed literature review as well as theoretical analysis study of Santiago Calatrava's architectural works and classified the motif of architectural works gained on the basis roughly into human body, bird and frame. Out of them, it studied in priority to the biological characteristics and the structural form of bird to reflect it in production of works. Aticsit examined the ciedslassiontemporary fashion design inplied by the image of bird which had been presented fashion collections. For the formation procthe of works, it used wires ase formationaterial to inply Aticsittion of works for various and cubic expression of the formative of the form of bird which wasegiven the moion mportance inormationater's works. Biedd on sith contents,sit emneasizdd, transformed and reicsitpreted the image and the characteristics in the form of bird to stress the formative of works. Based on this, various formative designs applied by the image of bird were developed and produced works by evolution of total 8 sets into various items. The conclusions gained from the theoretical review and production of works in this study are as in the followings. First, Santiago Calatrava applied the structure of body or form or frame of bird as the structural form originated in nature or living things to produce his works. Second, the frame structure of bird is to maintain the outer form of the structure and also it is made up scientifically in the aspect of inner structure as well. Such structural constituent form in inside & outside of bird was effective to utilize as concrete and detailed elements in production of works. Third, wires used to express and to maintain various forms of bird were effective to express various cubic forms and sha as semi-transparent material was able to express the lightness with the spatial sense between opaqueness and transparency visually. Fourth, as the partial element of details shown in the form of bird was utilized as the motif of works, it was able to present various compositions of pattern in consideration of functional aspect of human body in fashion design. As mentioned above, it was able to understand deeply about the internal and external form of bird interpreted by Santiago Calatrave through the process of this study and it presented creative and formative artistic works in use of the characteristics of the formative architectural works utilizing the Santiago Calatrava's image of bird. This author hopes that it can be an opportunity for extensive new possibility and development of fashion design through this study.
