조선시대 창살의 조형미를 응용한 의상디자인 연구

Abstract

오늘날과 같은 세계화의 시대에 국제경쟁력을 확보하는 것은 우리가 당면한 중요한 과제이며, 이는 전통문화에 대한 깊이 있는 이해를 기초로 하여 이를 다각적인 측면에서 발전시켜 새로운 디자인을 창출하는 것으로 성취될 수 있다. 이러한 시점에서 패션 디자인 영역에서는 전통문양을 활용하여 현대적인 감각을 갖춘 한국적 디자인의 개발로 글로벌시장을 공략하는데 역점을 두어야 할 것이다. 우리의 전통문화 중에서 한국의 멋을 가장 짙게 풍겨 볼 수 있는 부분 중 하나가 바로 창살문양이다. 창살문양의 기하학적인 조형성은 여러 전통문양 중 기하학적 구조의 간결성을 가장 잘 찾아볼 수 있는 요소가 될 수 있으며, 기하학적 형태의 가장 단순하면서도 기본적인 조형원리의 요소인 선과 선의 교차에 의해 생기는 면의 구성에서 전통문양의 독특함뿐 만 아니라 현대에 와서도 다양한 분야에 적극 활용 되어 질 수 있는 요소들을 발견할 수 있다. 본 연구의 의의는 첫째, 우리나라를 대표할 수 있는 전통문화 양식 중 기하학적 형태의 다양성이 잘 나타나 있는 조선시대의 창살문양을 통해 기하학적 형태의 중요성을 깨닫고, 그것의 조형원리의 의미를 이해함으로써, 기하학적 조형성이라는 가장 본질적인 수단을 바탕으로 국제화 시대에 다양한 분야에서 문화적인 상호교류와 공감대를 형성할 수 있는 디자인창출에 도움을 주는데 있다. 둘째, 조선시대 창살문양의 종류와 조형적 분석을 통하여 다양한 분야에서 전통문양의 이미지 현대화에 효과적으로 다가서는데 있다. 셋째, 조선시대 창살문양의 조형미를 분석하고 의상디자인 사례들을 통하여 현대 여러 디자인 분야에서 우리민족의 고유의 정체성을 확립시키고, 전통문화에 대한 새로운 인식으로 독창적인 이미지와 발전된 형태로 디자인을 하는데 있어서 지속적인 활용 가능성을 모색하는데 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 우리 고유의 창살에 나타난 조형미를 분석하고 그것을 토대로 현대패션디자인에 응용하여 전통미의 현대화를 도모함과 동시에 패션디자인의 표현영역을 확대함에 있다. 내용에 있어서는 이전까지 건축양식들의 창살문양들에 비해 특히 그 종류가 다양하고 완성도 높은 조선시대 창살문양의 형태를 기하학적 조형성에 근거하여 분석한 후 조선시대 창살문양을 활용한 현대패션디자인 적용사례들을 분석함으로써 창살의 조형미를 알아보고자 하였다. 그리고 테이핑의 개념과 특성을 알아보았고 테이핑기 법을 응용한 패션디자인사례를 분석하여 이를 바탕으로 테이핑 기법을 활용한 10벌의 작품제작을 통하여 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 창살문양의 기하학적 조형성은 현대 의상으로 재구성하기에 적합하였고,창살문양의 형태는 테이핑 기법에 의해 장식됨으로써 풍부한 장식효과를 얻을 수 있었다. 둘째, 창살문양의 기하학적 규칙성을 간결하고 단순한 형태의 의상에 응용한 결과 모던한 이미지로 잘 융합됨을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 테이프의 가는 선적 특성을 통해 테이핑 함으로써 의상디자인의 선 요소를 효과적으로 나타내는 기법으로의 활용 가능성을 제시 할 수 있다. 넷째, 창살문양이 지닌 일률적인 직선미는 디테일에 독특한 변화를 주며 새롭게 연출 될 수 있었다. 다섯째, 창살의 반투명 창호의 이미지를 반투명 소재로 표현한 결과 부드러움을 부가시키는 동시에 공간감을 줄 수 있었다. 여섯째, 문양의 주된 표현기법으로 사용된 테이핑 기법에 스티치 기법을 부가적으로 도입하여 선의 조형미를 다채롭게 표출 시킬 수 있는 가능성을 확인 할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 조선시대 창살의 현대적인 활용가치를 되새기는데 의의가 있다. 창살의 조형미를 시키면서도 현대적인 이미지로 재창출하여 현대 의상디자인 개발의 지속적인 모티프로 활용하기 위해서는 지속적인 연구가 필요하다고 사료된다.;In a recent era called as the ear of globalization, we face with a major challenge that national competitiveness should be secured and it might be resolved by developing traditional cultures based on in-depth appreciation of it. From that aspect, we should focus on entering international markets with the design inspired from Korea signature symbol but modernized. Beauty of Korea is well expressed on shape s of the muntin. A mong various traditional patterns, a geometrical formation of the muntin’ s shape most apparently shows the simplicity of geometrical structure. Also, as well as uniqueness of traditional patterns, several factors that could be applied in various fields, were founded from the formation of spaces created by lines which are the basic components of formative principles. A purpose of the study is first of all supporting a creation of design which can initiate a cultural bond of empathy and mutual relationship between diverse range of fields developed in the globalization era based on geometrical formation by means of the most basic measure by realizing the importance of geometrical formation and understanding the meanings of formation principles through patterns of the muntin in the Joseon dynasty, which is one of the representative traditional cultural pattern and shows the diversity of geometrical patterns. Second, the study was conducted to effectively establish modernization of the image of tradi tional patterns in various fields by researching kinds of patterns for the muntin in the Joseon dynasty and geometrically analyzing them. Third, based on analysis of the structural beauty of the beauty and costume design cases, cultural identity in various modern design filed should be set and continuous search on implicating the design which is uniquely developed from traditional culture. The purpose of the study is to analyze the structural beauty revealed on the muntin and to apply it on modern costume designs to promote the modernization of traditional beauty and expand its area on costume designs . A s contents, the study focuses on studying the features and kinds of the muntin of the Joseon dynasty, which is noticeable various and displays higher execution level compared to other window patterns before the Joseon dynasty. Therefore, a representative pattern of muntin was analyzed with geometrical formation and geometrical formation principle of lines and shapes which forms muntin was understood. Also, the cases that the patterns of muntin in the Joseon dynasty were applied on costume designs were researched. The lines of the muntin were expressed using features of a tape which is long and thin were employed to display various effects. Thus, in the study, a tape was repeatedly analyzed and crossed to express the geometrical formation of the muntin. The results after designing 8 pieces of fashion costumes with a taping technique are listed as follows: F irst, a geometrical formation of muntin patterns is suitable to be used for modern costumes. The structure of muntin pattern can be embellished with a taping technique. Second, pattern regularity of a geometrical formation of the muntin can be well integrated into the costumes with simple pattern. Third, by taping it with a long elongated tape, such taping might be developed as the technique which can effectively show a line factor of costume designs. Fourth, the beauty of line that muntin patterns have can be add uniqueness in details and innovatively expressed. Fifth, semi-transparent material was used to replace Chang-Ho and it could add softness as well as the sense of space. Sixth, a stitch technique was used in conjunction with the taping technique that was mainly used for expressing the patterns to display structural beauty of patterns and it might be considered to be used to express patterns. With forementioned results, it would be necessary to acknowledge the modern usages of patterns of muntin for costume designs that applied structural beauty of the muntin and conduct continuous researches to keep its structural beauty along with creating modern image to make the patterns of the muntin as a geometrical formation more approved.
